What’s good everybody?
The main reason why I decided to re-launch SoHH.com’s Atlanta’s Own is because I know first hand how many talented, socially conscious unsigned artists there are out there, and its time for them to get their shine.
Everybody is shouting that Hip-Hop is dead, but what is anybody doing to try and save it? Well I have platform and I’m going to use it to support exactly what this site was built on—which is Online Hip-Hop! Betcha didn't know that's what S.O.H.H. originally stood for did ya?
I had a lot of music to pick from and realized in the middle of my listening session that I ran into a problem—I had too much music!!!
So I had to make one last minute change to the showcase. Instead of posting 5 songs a week, I’m only doing three. If I don’t reduce the amount of songs on one post, then it will just be too much text to read and I feel that people will grow tired of all the reading which could potentially leave some music left unheard. Surely you can understand…

Since hip-hop is in such a questionable state right now, I think what we all need is a breath of fresh air. We need artists who can spit that fiyah yet not put themselves in a box like many of today’s rappers have done.
Therefore I am re-launching Atlanta’s Own. The talent showcase, originally created to give unsigned artists a platform to get their music out there to the masses, is coming back.

This video is almost a month old but I found it online and thought I would bring it to da family seeing that we got a lot of Young Jeezy fans who read Atlanata’s blog daily.
There are a few things that I feel need to be cleared up regarding how I feel about Jeezy. First, when I attended his concert event back in December, (as you all know) I had a bad time. As a result I reported on what my experience was just like I would have if I had a great time at his event. Though, my reporting was harsh, and I can admit that, it was the truth and more importantly it was, in my opinion, great journalism.
However, just because I had a bad experience at the “secret concert” doesn’t mean that I hate Jeezy, his music, or his new clothing line. Secondly, I don’t know Jeezy. I’ve never met him personally. I have seen him at events from afar but never had a chance to say more then two words to the rapper. But I still have a job to do and it’s a job that I take VERY seriously.

THANKS GOD ITS FRIDAY!!! I don’t know about y’all but it’s hard for me to get into the swing of things in this New Year. So far my resolutions are going good. I’ve been to the gym almost everyday this week. Whatever your resolutions were, keep that shit going aiight?!?

When I decided to put together this weekly showcase, I knew that it would be an explosive and innovative idea. With all of SOHH's readers who log on daily to check out what's hot in hip-hop nationally, regionally, and locally, it seemed like a natural progression for all of Atlanta's unsigned talent to get massive exposure from arguably one of the hottest spots oh the planet – SOHH's Atlanta blog.
The biggest movers and shakers in the record business check out SOHH on a daily basis. So you never know who's gonna hear what you got to spit. And you better trust and believe that only the hottest tracks and tightest MCs will get put on. If it's not hot – you won't hear it. Period!
