Good research....but my point is that you don't have kiss another dude on camera to be successful. Up and comming actors are falling right into the setup. Hollywood is fast tracking anyone "straight" playing a homosexual grafically. They use terms like "ground-breaking", "riviting",and "breakthroughperformance" to sell that idea. My answer will cover both at the same time. First off Supa, you are right, it would be a "career killer", but the Animate's question is "Why?"

Hiphop culture is first and foremost based off all the black cultures. Belief systems, "codes", values, etc.
That being said (and some people may not agree with this) the black culture ,collectively, is homophobic.
Hiphop is simply a reflection of the base culture. The black culture may have its variable nuiances around the world but one of things that has always been shunned is homosexuality. In a culture where male ego and dominance reign supreme, being gay is the sin of sins. It is the ultimate checkmate: no matter how street you claim to be, how many charges you rack up, how many MC's you put to rest, it will never be enough. The homosexual will always be viewed a lesser: not a man and in lower than the lowest woman.

Hiphop has always been male driven competition so much so females feel like they have to spit like males to be respected. It is mostly dog eat dog. Who's the best with everyone else trying to expose a weakness.
