T.I. Doin Big Things, Akon and Three Wives to Launch Reality Show

ti.bmp

Yo! What's up with the comments yesterday did anybody stop by to check ya homeboi out? What's up with that family? I got that fiyah for you today lets get into it.

I love a dude on his grind and T.I. is for damn sure on his. My home girl Sandra at SandraRose.com put me on to this new information. Atlanta's own rap superstar T.I. just closed on a $4.3 million home on the Southside of Atlanta today. According to the property listing, the three-story six-bedroom, eight-bath mansion sits on 1.7 acres offering stunning lake views, a swimming pool, dock and boathouse. The interior boasts a two-story foyer, cathedral ceiling, banquet dining room with separate dining area, master suite with mahogany paneled study, nursery, custom gourmet kitchen with double ovens, keeping room & fireplace, exercise room and indoor theater.

In addition to his superior rapping skills, the self-proclaimed "King of the South” proved he was also a talented actor when he made his critically acclaimed big screen debut in "ATL" earlier this year. In recent interviews, Tip discussed buying land in Hollywood to maximize his acting opportunities but Atlanta would always be his home. From the streets of Bankhead to the high hills of AT,L my man is doing big things, and it looks like he won't be slowing down anytime soon. He is already in the studio working on new material for his fifth album. He also just recently wrapped up filming a new movie with Denzel Washington and Russell Crowe titled "American Gangster." My lil homie is making big moves and I'm hyped he's getting his props!!

Random Hip-Hop Thought…..
Contrary to popular belief, some of us still have to hold down day jobs to tie up loose ends. I'm no different then any of you. Though I hang out with the biggest and most flashy movers and shakers in the Atlanta entertainment scene, I'm still trying to make my dough so that I can one day be the ultimate mover & shaker – I'm talking L.A. Reid level. Nevertheless, until that happens I still ride the Marta (Moving Africans Rapidly Through Atlanta) to work (I got a SUV, don't get it twisted).

You can find some of the most interesting people on Marta. Last week I was sitting next to this white lady by the name of Christi. (Trust me, this is going somewhere). Christi is in her late 40s and while she sat next to me, I noticed her bopping her head to the music on her IPOD. Normally this wouldn't have grabbed my attention but out of the corner of my eye I recognized some lyrics she was mouthing the words to, and I'll be dammed if it wasn't Ludacris. That's right fam – late 40's, white bread Christi was mouthing "I wanna lic lic lic lick you from your head to your toes. And I wanna move from the bed down to the, down to the, to the floor." I was bugging out. I was so surprised I actually tapped her on her shoulder and asked her if she was in fact listening to Luda and she eagerly replied "yes."

She went on to talk about how she loves hip-hop. But what happened next will burn in my mind for the rest of my life. She reached into her bag and pulled out five hip-hop CDs – Ludacris' Release Therapy, Outkast's Speakerboxx/The Love Below, Lil Wayne's The Carter, The Dungeon Family, and Diddy's new release Press Play. I was completely buggin!

Hip-hop is exploding, and is continuing to break boundaries. When you got ole white ladies bumping there head to the beats of hip-hop, you know it's truly taking over….I LUV IT!!!!!

SOHHGYANT IS LOOKING FOR YOU!!!Yo, I'm doing my best to make this Atlanta spot pop with excitement, but I need your help. I believe we got a lot of talented people in the "A," more so here than any other place. I want to expose my city's great talent – and ultimately you! If you got some skills and are trying to maximize your exposure then you need to holla at me.
In two weeks I'm launching "Sohh Atlanta's Own" – a great way to showcase my kats with those insane lyrical/vocal skills. Don't play yourself; Sohh is one of the biggest leading hip-hop websites on the planet. The biggest acts in the world come here to see what we say, what we're doing, and who got the skills to take the game to the next level.

Every Friday, starting December 8th, I will post the hottest talents who submit me their music in MP3 format. Make ya move, and when you get to the top you can make sure to send me a check.

Hypest Track of the Day!
"Everything I Love" Remix

On the heels of talking about Akon yesterday, I got some exclusive information from my homie in Akon's camp that he may be doing a reality show glorifying his recent polygamist ways. If you haven't heard, Akon claims to have three wives who all share a home here in Atlanta. Akon claims it's a part of his African way of life, though he was born in Ohio, he claims Senegal, Africa as home.

People close to the singer are worried that this show might create legal liability seeing that polygamy is against the law in the United States of America. I'm trying to find out some more information. The minute I know – you'll know!

Love you all like Zaxby's and Club 112!
Peace!

Black Leaders Seek End to Use of Slur

Mon Nov 27, 5:37 PM ET

Black leaders on Monday challenged the entertainment industry, including rappers, to stop use of the racial slur that Michael Richards uttered in his tirade.

The Rev. Jesse Jackson and others said they will meet with TV networks, film companies and musicians to discuss the "n-word."

"We want to give our ancestors a present," Jackson said at a news conference. "Dignity over degradation."

Jackson also asked the public not to buy a DVD box set of the seventh season of the TV show "Seinfeld" that was released last week.

Richards, who played the wacky neighbor Kramer on "Seinfeld," triggered outrage with a Nov. 17 racial rant against two black men when he was heckled during a stand-up comedy routine at the Laugh Factory nightclub in West Hollywood. A patron recorded the outburst with a video camera phone.

Richards has made several apologies, including one Sunday on Jackson's syndicated radio program, in which he has said he is not a racist and was motivated by anger.

At the press conference, comedian Paul Mooney said he has used the "n-word" numerous times during stand-up performances but will no longer do so after watching Richards' rant.

"He's my Dr. Phil," the black comedian said. "He's cured me."

Asked about free-speech issues, Jackson said the word is "unprotected."

U.S. Rep. Maxine Waters, D-Calif., charged that only situations such as the Richards incident turn mainstream media attention to issues involving the black community.

"This is not simply about whether or not the black community forgives or forgets, this is about understanding that this is pervasive, that this happens in all of our institutions, one way or the other," Waters said.

@flinttown

If u hate to do it...then why do it...nobody said T.I. was better than Weezy so why start that shit? Almost as bad as North vs. South. Get over it!

Posted by: slimgoody at November 28, 2006 12:44 PM

@slimgoody

I see where your comin from but there is nothing wrong with a little debate. If anything its helping out hip hop as a whole because it makes things more interesting. Im not tryna come at t.i. or anything i hope he stays gettin his paper.

Posted by: flinttown at November 28, 2006 12:48 PM

Honestly, I refuse to give Tip all of the credit for his acting debut in ATL. Why? He's from Bankhead! How hard is it to play yourself in a movie? Ask yourself that question. Treach played a Down South nigga in Jason's Lyric & he pulled it off! For that, I give Treach credit. Until TI plays a bounty hunter or a doctor in a movie, I'm not gonna be convinced by a movie like ATL nor that new movie(he's prolly playing the gangster in the movie. Go figure). Anywayze, here's the part where I end my comment & someone comes on here & goes bad on me for typing what I typed. One...
