It don't matter what they do group or solo - they both still got that fire - It is Hollywood Divorce time - ain't shit wrong with that. And why would they claim they are not a group and then come back in 2 years and drop something - then we will be like "Damn I thought they would no group" - who cares! If the shit is good you will be bumping!
Posted by: Kashing Spending Homegirl at November 21, 2006 12:09 PM
That was a good post. True Outkast fans have been scratching their heads about the groups latest moves. Outkast IMO will always be the greatest rap group of all time. Big Boi gets slept on because Dre is so nice with it. But after taking a closer listen Big Boi has been nasty since day one. Just go back and listen to "Speakerbox". That nigga really came lyrical. So if Big Boi wants to do a solo joint I'll cop it(no bootleg). But things change and if Dre's not feeling rapping anymore...then we have to live with it. I hope we can get those 2 dope boys in a cadillac together at least for 1 last album. But if it doesn't happen I got the collection so I won't be too mad. Shit they first 3 joints are classics anyway. Damn Kast WTF???
Posted by: KINGOFNC at November 21, 2006 12:11 PM
u think they can make real money rapping for ever? not too many can, cuz what street person respect a 30 something rapper?? just reality.... they have to move on and get that papper!
Posted by: reality sucks at November 21, 2006 12:15 PM
"But, I still wish they would just cut the bullshit already and admit to us all that they are through as a group."
I don't know what went down but I do know we need somebody real to rep dis' A like we had it before. Dude b4 was straight
Atlanta don't buy into this, I can see it already media is already placing the dividing line and working on breaking this bond.
How you gonn dis OutKast-This nizzle here is just a pawn. If u gon rep the zone do it right before the zone do u right. Peace Up!
Posted by: ComCorrect at November 21, 2006 12:17 PM
Why do they have to do everything together? They have made alot of money together and have made history. They are partially responsible for putting a whole region on the map, but they do have the right to do other things. Just as we all have friends we love but we cant do EVERYTHING with each other all the time. We grow older, have families, branch out and do other things. Just because the arent up each other's ass doesnt mean they broke up....Ya'll act like they fuckin.
Posted by: Rizzop at November 21, 2006 12:36 PM
People grow, grown ups don't wanna hear about all that nonsense in today's hip hop. If I was Outkast..I wouldn't want to be having my names mentioned with hip hop...the same conversations that erbody is discussing "who's muscles are bigger..50 Cent or Game"..or none of that nonsense. You get the point.
Hip Hop 2006= corny
Big up to Andre for doin big things. That's called...being a smart man and staying on top of thangs.
Yo..you cracked me up with that comment "Yes, you too can now look like an Easter egg every single day."
That was funny.

Posted by: teethree at November 21, 2006 01:33 PM
yoo dude u need to chill with that...just cause u aint seeing them together (unless u stalking them outside they window) that don't mean they on some break up verge. They have made there mark in hip hop. Its time to move on to other ventures. come on...rap forever? unless u married im sure u dont want to be up in a dude's space every fucking time!? they did the hip hop thing...now its time to do there thing...what ever it maybe

Why these clowns have blogs is beyond me. Check your facts lil' homey before you start posting stuff.
Posted by: Southern Star at November 21, 2006 02:03 PM
This nigga is a clown..... Andre and Big Boi used Hip Hop as a launching pad to bigger and better things. What do you want these niggas to do...record together and live in the Dungeon like they did in 92'?...I think it makes more since to say...yeah were still together, but Im eating off a couple other plates too. True Outkast fans wanna see these niggas get that money however an wherever, cause they are deserving. Them niggas held down the South for 10 summers. Whenever these NY clowns talk about Southern rap and the lack of lyrics...they seem to forget Andre...before he added the 3000...before he started expressing himself through his clothing.
His verse on the Walk it Out remix was....refershing. Real Talk...get it?
Take1 Scene1>>> He walks into the local Best Buy, locates the 2nd coming of NY...Kingdom Come! He cops it...walks slowly to the buick regal parked in the handicap spot...presses play and....to be continued.

Yeah, so calling Idlewild soundtrack bullshit and then talking about those HOT tracks from Gucci Maine and Young Joc... thats worse than not checking billboard first to see that the album went platnium. How the fuck you going to tell people to go to a site to check your statement when you didn't do it in the first place.
And who is scratching their head because Dre is voicing a character in a movie? Dude getting paid doing something he likes. This blog is basically saying that you ain't shit if you do more than one thing. Thats some ignant shit right there.
Posted by: Rest at November 21, 2006 02:22 PM
WHAT? Ok first off, Idlewild did go platinum (and yes, it's on billboard).
And how can you say that Andre 3000 isnt serious about hiphop anymore. HAVE YOU HEARD THE WALK IT OUT REMIX? Andre killed that song. His better than UNK and Jim Jones. It's actually the tightest verse I've heard in a while.
Plus, what's wrong with wanting to do other things in your life. As a matter of fact, Andrea does a good job acting. I can't say the same about Big Boi, but at least their doing things they want to do.
HAVE A GOOD DAY YA'LL.....

Let’s speak on something of substance for a moment. Something that really matters. Can we do that for a moment on this blog?
First…I want to thank SOHH.COM for allowing me the opportunity of representing the "MySpot" page for the Kingdom.
While I understand that people may have different beliefs, there is no denying that loving and respecting the next person is true living and the only way to see change in the world.
Music is a powerful tool, and while we have a separate blog for Atlanta, Houston, etc...we do not have a blog dedicated for individuals to share how Hip Hop has played a positive part in effecting change in their heart, family, and community.
Please hit up SOHH.COM at myspot@sohh.com and let them know that you would like to have a blog titled "SOHH Spiritual".
It could be used for different individuals to post up their own beliefs...and express how hip hop is being used to feed their souls. There would be no biased based on religion, and on each blog everyone is free to express the agreements, disagreements etc.
It's time we start looking inward, so that we can trully begin to affect the outward. There is much at stake.
God Bless each of you!

Posted by: BAMA at November 21, 2006 04:25 PM
The South still has that fire and Outkast DID NOT go platinum! The powers that be applied the platinum status to the artist line. The "powers that be" (i.e. record labels, top dogs in the entertainment field) can pull strings to have their artist appear that they went platinum or gold....just like they can have their artist song put in the top ten (i.e. Deja Vu...anyone?).

he just grew up and got rich. he's grown out of hip hop and is more jazzy now. every1 has to grow up sometime. big boi looks like the fool to me, he needs 3000 to eat but dre don't need him.

put it like this Hollywood money is longer than rap money Ludacris can tell you that and TI tried to Hate on him for and now that TI has been acting he says the same thing that you can make more off of acting than rap...............so you can't knock outkast for acting...........they know they place in hip hop and they have had theirs number one records and stuff if they want to move on let them .........acting can last you for the rest of your life cause as u get older u can play different roles..........check denzel's bank compared to any rapper .......can't touch him

I think they still cool personally. I just think Andre' is really sick of the business. If yall seen his new cartoon i think it's subliminal. The character is stepping away from the spotlight.Big Boi still got love for the music..that's all they just branching off into different areas. I seriously doubt there is any beef. I love them boys so when if they do drop another one as a group or solo, i'm gonna cop it (no bootleg). And oh yeah Idlewild DVD drops Dec 5th go cop it (no bootleg)

Why does Andre 3000 have to be "turning his back" on hip-hop? Dude is clearly venturing out to other genres, doing other things and not limiting himself to just being "another one of those Rap guys," same as Timbaland. Quit putting limitations on how and where people can make money. There's other opportunities to be taken advantage of. You'll never get anywhere with that mentality. Same broke ass bullshit forever.
