Thats kind of a easy question to answer, yes it does, its kind of obvious to know though, considerin theres still nazis and klansmen around, so as long as there around, yes racism will always be here, and of course there gonna have security, they dont want what happend at the 50 Cent movie to happen.

Racism is always going to exist there is no question about that. Am I the only person that thinks "ATL" will not be that good of a movie? I believe it is being overhyped but I guess we will see.

First I had a hard time finding atheater that was showing it. Then as the movie was getting dood, a 15-man brawl broke out. Ride down Bankhead (or Holloway as they call it for the new white area) and look at our streets. The streets are filthy, tons of people at every bus stop, businesses behind gated fences. The only reason I want to see this movie is mainly because I want to see the roller skating in the movie....once I saw the trailer for the movie, I was actually impressed with the previews of the acting and the story line. I do hope that the movie turns out as good as I think it will be. Before Roll Bounce came out, I thought it might not be all that good, but it wasn't nearly as bad as it could have been. Of course this movie has all the elements that I feared would be in Roll Bounce....however if the story and the acting are good, then I think it could be a good movie.

About all of this other stuff regarding racism, I want to share my opinion here as a white person who is NOT a racist. I like people of ALL races and do not discriminate against any at all. What bothers me is that I feel that many blacks are more racist against whites. A lot of black people look at me like I am their enemy and have a snear on their face, when in fact I haven't done anything to them. I feel like I have to smile even harder than I normally do to get across the fact that I do accept and don't hate people of other races. I live in a nearly all black neighborhood presently and none of the black people even talk to us, except for our next door neighbors and they don't even really talk to us, it is more like a distant wave and an occasional "hi, how ya doin'?" maybe a few times a year. Because of the way we feel about how we are perceived and the neighborhood....we can't wait to move just so we can actually enjoy where we live. Ever felt out of place? That is how I feel when I go to certain places right here in the neighborhood where I live. I will not change the fact that I am not a racist, I will never change my mind about that (I am a Christian too), but I would love to see more black people actually treating some of us white people like people and not a race. I personally have never done anything wrong to a black person, however I am made to feel like I am a bad person just because I am white and not black by black people.

Let me clarify that not all black people give me this feeling, some of my best interaction and acquaintances are with friendly black people who talk to me as a "person". Just today I spent much time with two nice black ladies at the roller skating rink and we even had honest conversations that regarded black vs. white and roller skating and our misconceptions that we all had about each other in the past, it was a very breathtaking conversation. I think afterwards, we all felt good about being able to talk frankly and honestly about what we thought and felt......and we just plain had fun. Of course we had fun talking but we also had fun skating together too. :) So when I nice white person who loves and does not hate sees you, you might just smile back at them......we do notice! AND it makes a HUGE difference in how we feel.

I live in Cincinnati, OH. This movie was shown at one of the large local theatres in an upscale area of Northern Kentucky. The movie brought out rival gangs which cause fights and reported gunfire in the theatre. People need to stop acting out what they see on TV and in the movies and start thinking for themselves instead of being lemmings and proving stereotypes correct.

A fight broke out in a Toledo, OH, movie theater. This is ridiculous. What is wrong with people? Some people out there need to open up their eyes.

Instead of a blog asking whether violence will break out, you should just list an arrest and body count. We can all just guess the days number. Was it ever really a question?

Okay i agree with some of the stuff that was said about african american people always having problems and breaking out their frustrations into fights.But also you have to think about some of the positive things blacks try to do also and the "whites critics" seem to always put a steriotype on it on the sly. Like T.I. coming out with a movie all of his own do you think other people that arent from our race wanna see that sh*t hel naw they dont because they already got their minds made up who we are, what we do and they dont even understand where were coming from and live with from day to day. So with all these problem matters being laid on the table yes blacks need to stop using violence all the damn time but hey you gotta understand why its like that first to begin criticize dont get me wrong there are some evil ass people out there who like to start unessasary bullsh*t and thats messed up they need to check themselves but to blacks who are trying to make it out and still keeping it real dont knock them cause you aint gone find 2 many people like that and quit hatin (damn!).

The fact of the matter is in today's culture many black people are using the term 'racism' as an excuse to do whatever they want and not have to feel responsible for their actions. Also there is a lot of hypocrisy in today's black culture. For instance, black hip hop moguls are the first to open clothing lines. Those clothing lines are using sweat shops in 3rd world countries where the workers are treated like shit and paid barely enough to survive. Sean John clothing in Honduras is one of the worst in the World.

It is no different then what the Europeans were doing with slavery here in the US. They didn’t care how the workers were treated they just cared about cheap labor and profits. The lessons of history sure are short when the table is turned?

I think most people (black and white) are tired of hearing the crap about 'racism'. If you go to ATL you will see that many blacks are actually educated executives. So there is no excuse except ignorance. So many black people have cultivated a culture they can be proud of. The rest are just using excuses (generally framed as 'racism') to not have to take responsibility for themselves and their actions. The quicker they can realize this, the quicker they can start to fix the real problem and quit trying to blame everyone but themselves.

Black people are really pitiful. This movie didn't cause violence but two men were killed after viewing this movie. A man in Minnesota was killed and a teenage boy in Chicago was killed. Just like niggas to prove white folks and law abiding black folks right.

Sometimes we as African Americans should do our own investigating before we allow the media to control what we believe about our own young men and women. You are absolutly right about gun violence, but please understand that what happened in Riverdale Park was not the work of "Gangs" as plastered all over the news and news papers, but one or two irresponisble young men. If you look back in history as far as it was written you will find a number of articles that slander blacks and convince society that we are animals. The best way to prevent gun violence in our community is to band together and teach of young men and women. We should band together as a community and protect them not attack them as the media would like. After all, like it or not they are our future and without them there is no us. ATL was a very good film that depicted life as some of us may know it, and in my opinion it seemed to be a positive film if more young people listened to the message it sent out.
