Ion like House music from Chicago or Go Go from DC but I aint gon HATE on it. Nobody really cares what u think neway. Back to the topic...I dont know if Snap Music or w/e gonna replace it, but crunk music is dying out so I guess it will. D4L? HA! But D4L doin they thing even tho I dont like the songs I heard by them...they doin them and it aint no reason to hate unlike SOME people that need get on they grind and get theirs instead of hating on the next man.

Crunk music maybe "dying" commericially but it still gets the clubs crunk. If u dont think so stop by the bounce, club nv, chocalate on the eastside and yall will see whats up
Posted by: ganugga at December 26, 2005 4:07 PM
iight whatever, but yeah it died commercially just like a lot of shit died comercially. All Im sayin is u needa stop hatin and do you cuz that shit only makes u look bad amd not the other way around. Just cuz u like crunk and the next man dont u gotta bash Screw Music, Go Go, and House? thats kid shit yao ming? I dont like reggaeton that much but I aint gon bash it. Seems like u offended cuz it died commerically. Thats how it is...soon snap music gon die commercially and raggaeton will get more commercial and then a couple years it will die too. It happens oh well.

i hope that "snap" shit aint the next big thing in music. DFL and dem franchise boys doing snap, is that what that shit is? i'll admit that shit is catchy and once it's in your head you cant get it out, but it dont mean its good. Rap music is dead! Bring back the hip-hop already, damn!

Hey, Sohh lets not get it twisted before MTV and everyone starts hollaring credit for the movenment of snap music. The real credit goes to Atlanta hot new young producer K-Rab, LuNeY TuNeZ, WIN, and Charlay. These producers are the real producer behind the hot groups D4L, FLO-MASTAS, Trap Squad and Dem Franchiz Boyz. These producers are at the heart of this new sound (i.e., Snap Music and Dance Music)coming out of Atlanta. Also, I would say that DJ T-Roc is another who has supported these young new producer in getting their sound to the streets. So, unlike the producer you've mentioned in MTV article and your story line I have never seen them in the Poole Palace. So, lets keep it real...............................
Posted by: Out of the Poole Palace at December 26, 2005 9:54 PM
1st off fuck snap music!!!! That shit will not blow globally and these snap artists will probably NEVER go platinum. Its just like an ATL nicca 2 say that they started this musical trend. Lets be real, in the early 90's preoutkast, ATL was a bunch of booty popping ass niccas talking bout shawty freak a lil something. Or I put my hand up on your hip, when I dip u dip we dip. Or how bout shawty swing my way? All u real ATLiens know what I'm talkin bout. U cats were ragtopping and headdown booty popping on a handstand. U cats stole tha crunk sound from memphis and commercialized it and then took credit 4 that when yall know atl has never been crunk untill bout 2002. After 36mafia went gold and platinum with tha crunk shit. I'm not mad @ tha A but b4real. Give credit where its due. Yall makin all the money, gettin all the tv time and atl is allowed 2 put out just about any garbage ass record and get radioplay. Honestly, yall can have the credit 4 snap music cuz the only people buying that shit is bootleggers and teenagers leaving the friday night jamborees. Yall can have that garbage. If it wasn't for JD, we wouldn't except that franchise boyz and d4l will never go platinum. Real talk!!!!

All these buddy ass knuck if ya buck ass rappers and producers will not be as lucky as ying yang twins.

Snap music? Great! something else motherfuckers can fly under a diffrent banner and milk to death. THIS is one of the biggest problems with rap today EVERYBODY trys to do what another cat is doin. Nuthin would play out as fast if everybody had or atleast TRIED to have theyre own fuckin style and stopped raping the newest shit out. Hiphop has been exploited and now everything is about a dollar bill and niggas will do anything to make a buck.. Why dont u get off of gay shit like what coast/region a niggas from and pay attention to who is actually making good music? Now THAT is something that needs to play the fuck out. Don't Cha Know?
Posted by: DOntCHaKnow at December 27, 2005 3:41 AM
who the fuck is this gagnigga talkin about gogo is weak. nigga won't bring his ass to dc talkin that shit. gogo to us is like crunk down south or house music to whoever. straight grimy shit. Nigga we basically have a freaknic every fuckin weekend. and don't come to a gogo talking that shit cuz u might get fucked up or killed. seriously. seen it happen too many times so watch yo fuckin mouth. And if I sound mad then that means Im coming off the right way. I gaurantee every nigga that would come to dc and go to a gogo would love it if not for the music for the atmospere the women to man ratio is at least 7:1. Look out for these 2 niggas about to kill the rap game and delete the bullshit in the industry Stealth and Whoa. Hate now but u gonna luv them later. REAL SHIT. I got nothing but loved for all yall except these hatin ass bitches like gagnigga
Posted by: popoff at December 27, 2005 9:35 AM
im feeling you dontchaknow. and if any rapper coming into the game today wants to try to get any longevity in ones career they would try to have their own style instead of coming out with some music that is trendy(whats in at the time). Make some timeless shit that can be popped into the player at any time 10 years from know like "all eyez on me", "chronic", "ready to die",
hell even "college dropout".
Posted by: kibibi at December 27, 2005 10:03 AM
Im from dc and we represent our regional. we not expectin anyone to like gogo.. if u do u do if u dont u dont. simply shut the fuck up and dont spend your hard workin dollas on it. Same for snap if its a g.a. trend then u aint gotta listen to it... but i mean shit if its sellin then obviously its not regional and got some nationwide appeal. niggas stop hatin cause that shit comes back to u.. aint no city better than another when it comes to rap cause most of the muthafuckas sellin millions of records aint the hottest rapper in they state. They are commercially appealing. so please cut the bullshit and gunit dick riding cause its more to hiphop than thug dancing and bitchin about other muthafucks makin doe. stop the hatin champ. and simply dont buy it or comment on nothing u dont even like in the first place. snap on GA do yall thing man.

WTF? Snap music? I'm tryin' to understand why people have to name shit like they're tryin' to hide the wackness of it. I swear, I was effin' around on a casio keyboard and started playin' the melodies to all this simplistic music that's out today. This is not hate, I'm just perplexed about the crap we accept for music and then we actually defend it when someone calls it for what it is. Snap music is nothing more than an underproduced beat not to be confused with a minimalistic beat like "The Ten Crack Commandments". Alot of cats is gettin' paid and laughin' at us(consumers). They're probably happily shocked and thinkin'"These people are actually buyin' into this crap?" Sup, Ganugga? You still hatin'? It wouldn't be u if you didn't. Peace up to the ATL, PHILLY IN THE HOUSE!
Posted by: skdamc at December 27, 2005 11:27 AM
Why can't all just be happy that its more blacks makin money. Rap has always been trendy whether it was the grimy era, the backpacker era, th shiny suit era (I hated those suits), the bling era, or a possible snap era. If u in the south and you go to the club u know the shit is fun and catchy and I luv 2 see the thick girls on the south shakin there laffy taffy. I agree don't hate on regional music cause its bounce music down here in louisiana and everyone on here has loved a bounce song whether they know it or not. So let the regions keep there originality and be happy its a black man makin an honest dolla. Can I tal my shit again!?!

So there is an actual name for this trend of songs that is out? Wow, I guess whatever sells, go with it. As a true music lover, those simplistic beats just don't do it for a nigga. I love to hear some laced up tracks that tell me the producer took more than 5 minutes to throw some shit together. I got nuttin but respect for Smurf, one of the original kings of bass, but I'm ready for this fad to be over.
Terrel, let's get together...Slik Shawty has touched down, and we ready to take over in '06!!

Stupid..what is hip hop coming to. That's hip hop? Come on man...that ain't hip hop. That's "hip pop". Just like the name ..it sounds similar, but there is a BIIIIGGGG difference.

Do your research House music started in Jersey and then went to Ny , then to chi town, then to B-more. B-more, Jersey and Chi town house is different,
Jersey shit is way better and nore soulful.. West indians could have their clyspo and soca, and reggee but House(club is the music for African American and real soulful.
There also diffrent branches of house, you have the nasty pull ur zipper and grind on a chick house, and you have your older 2-3 step house
but come party in northern jersey or a cook out, wedding, any event you will hear it. Fuck NY clubs

Mayne it's like this, this whole "snap" music shit is jus another way for the media to categorize shit like they always do. Jus like wit "Neo-Soul". Neo means new and ain't nann one of them artists doing anything that Stevie,Womack and other soul artist weren't doin. By labeling it, they have a way for white folks to market, that's it. All this, "my shit from my region is better than ur trash" shit is stupid cuz when it boils down to it, they're all ways for us black folks to express ourselves musically. I'm from Alabama but I'mma Army Brat who lives in P.G. County Maryland, I don't like go-go, I'm not gonna say it's trash, it jus ain't my thing, I go to B-More all the time cuz i got folk who go to Morgan State, they listen to club music, it's iight, I know dudes from the Chi so I've been exposed to thier music as well. I'm from the south and I dont like D4L or Dem Franchise Boyz, their music is monotonous and too similar. I said all that to say this..you know what's so great about havin a remote control, or an option? If you don't like it, change the fuckin channel and the problem is solved. All this hatin ain't gonna stop one region from doin what they been doin before y'all hatin asses was introduced to it. Damn, jus like the homie from Louisiana said be thankful that some of this money is goin to black folks. The problem is, y'all dudes ain't eatin off it, cuz if it was feedin ur seeds and payin ur bills, you wouldnt object to the shit!

In a perfect world an artist being original would be a great thing, but do we really want to hear something new? If we wanted to hear something new, then these underground cats (in all geographic regions) would be getting more attendence at their shows. If we wanted to hear something new we wouldn't support 50 cent's singles like "candy shop". If we wanted to hear something new we wouldn't pigeonhole ourselves to listening to just one or two genres of music (The line between hiphop and R&B is fading fast). If we wanted to hear something new "sampling" wouldn't be as popular as it is. If we wanted to hear something new we wouldn't request the same songs on the radio everyday. So do we really want to hear something new?

The first dude that commented was funny (ganugga) and what he said was pretty much true but he forgot to mention The Bay (Cali). That Hyphy ish is whack. Anyhoo, I happen to think crunk is pretty whack too. Sure the beats are tight but vocally and lyrically those cats sound like some slaves. Snap music is just trash. I laugh at these garbage sub-cultures that pop up now and then. The only tight one lately was Crump out of LA. That is some real artistry not some nonsense like, "I snap my fingers to a simple ass beat, so I call it snap music". That ish would never fly out here on the Southern Cali. We like our beats with actual music in them. shout to out to DJ. Quick!

As long as the south refuses to get over its fascination with strippers and the club scene in general everybody is gonna kick the same bullshit to you about ATL, your sound and your artist...point blank. And as long as niggas act like this snap shit or crunk or whatever is the ONLY kind of music in the universe that matters today its gonna get played and as long as its poppin and SOMEBODYS making dough off it (be it independant or major label cash)that shit will litter the airwaves and video shows without question. The problem is the fans who buy the shit not the artist...shit if niggas could make dough off break dancing and you'd buy it, they'll do it and exaggerate while doing it!
Snap music, huh? I'd be embarassed if I was from ATL right about now, cause alot of whats happening is just as bad as puffy looping every r&b track back in the day with the shiney suits, its like if it aint broke dont fix it, so you follow like nothings wrong in doing so.
The shit nowadays is overly repetative with the 808 drum and kick (or clap)and its just stripper music for crying out loud! Is it hot cause a bitch can clap her ass to it or is it the beat? Cause I know if you got a 20 a stripper would clap her ass to pop goes the weasel let alone a whisper song, so I guess talent nor quality doesnt matter much? So when niggas say shit be hot I wonder what they mean, or is it hot cause the nigga who made it lives right up the block? I hear that same type shit all day long... Its evident you dont gotta the next jigga or try to be to get burn , but the cat n the hat lyrics are a slap in the face and until niggas stop acting like they gotta support stripper rap (as long as it aint from new york right?) the music is gonna get worse cause the easier it is to copy the more lesser talented niggas gonna think they can do it too, and succeed...then you'll find yourself riding for some dick from your hood without talent, JUST cause hes from your hood.....thats where we are today!

There are a lot of hot sounds and songs coming from the south, the north, the east and the west. No need to argue about it. Hell, Im a national travelling dj. When Im in Atlanta it gets crunkest when I play Young Joc, D4L, Spring and Franchize. When Im in DC it gets crunkest when I play Amerie, Spring and believe it or not Franchize. I played at 40\40 last night and D4L, Spring and Juelz did it for me. Now LA was different. They liked 50 and Sean Paul (????), but anyway that is how the nights went. Now the crazy Shyte was Miami on last Friday. Mannnn I played Sring and Pitbull, I thought the roof was gonna fall in. I slowed it down with D4L and Franchize and a damn fight broke out. Its all about the Clubs man. The energy is just crazy. Its a lot of hot artist putting out a lot of hot shit so no need to hate, just do YOUR THANG!!

Stylistically, Dirty South is notably different from its northern and western counterparts. Whereas East Coast hip hop has historically been associated with complex lyrics and sparse urban beats, contemporary Southern Rap is largely characterized by its upbeat, exuberant, club-friendly tunes, and a simplistic rhythmic lyrical delivery. Within certain hip-hop circles, Southern rappers have been criticized for lacking lyrical substance or creativity. In particular, Crunk Music (a popular offshoot of Southern Rap) has been criticized for its repetitive chants and its materialistic and sexually-profane content. Despite these criticisms, the Southern rap genre is now one of the dominant forces driving hip-hop record sales.
The production style of Southern Rap can veer towards either a soul-based sound (Dungeon Family, Arrested Development) or a more "street" sound (No Limit, Cash Money, Mystikal). Where most East Coast Rap operates at tempos around 90-120 Beats Per Minute, Southern rap runs rhythms at 140-160, upwards of 180 Beats Per Minute, and then places the snare twice as far apart from one another. This leaves more time to be filled between the kick (on the down beat of the first measure) and the snare(on the downbeat of the second). Sometimes this space is filled with quick trills of hi-hats, a style pioneered by Three 6 Mafia and Hit Man Sammy Sam's Big Oomp Records; other times, it is filled with additional snare patterns, for instance, Pastor Troy's "Ain't no Mo Play in GA", or Miracle's "Bounce". The fastest and slowest rhymers in hip-hop both belong to southern rap, as different talents adapt to the music's distinct tempo. Sampling, while still used, is less common in Southern hip-hop production.
A common theme in today's Southern rap is to give specific "shout-outs" not just to entire cities, but to specific regions and neighborhoods within them. An example is the famous wards of New Orleans, namely the 9th Ward and the 3rd Ward to name two of the most prominent

southern hip hop started with the maimi bass sound
In the late 1980s, a distinctive bass-heavy scene Miami bass evolved out of electro hop and similar hip hop-influenced dance scenes in Miami, including Luther Campbell and his group, 2 Live Crew. 2 Live Crew became infamous after their album, Nasty As They Wanna Be (1989) was banned in a Florida town and the group was subsequently arrested on obscenity charges after performing; the charges were eventually dismissed. The Miami Bass scene that 2 Live Crew typified is simply one form of southern rap and barely made any headway nationally.
The first rap group to put southern rap music on the map were the Geto Boys. The Geto Boys hailed from Houston, TX and consisted of Willie D, Bushwick Bill, and Scarface. Houston was the first city outside of New York City and Los Angeles to attract attention from the rap world. The musical strength of the Geto Boy's 1989 local debut, Grip It! On That Other Level, garnered the attention of Def Jam founder Rick Rubin to executive produce and release their 1990 nationwide debut The Geto Boys. However it was the Geto Boy's seminal 1991 hit, Mind Playin' Tricks on Me, that broke down the barrier for southern rap. The raw and unforgiving lyrics about losing one's mind and paranoia proved to the nation that southern rap was more than the booty rap and Vanilla Ice antics produced out of Miami. The song is considered a hip-hop classic and proves to be influential even today. While hosting BET's Top 25 countdown in 2004, Outkast's Andre 3000 remarked that Mind Playin' Tricks on Me "put Southern rap on the map." The Geto Boy's Scarface later launched a successful solo career, solidifying Houston's status as one of the first cities in southern rap. Among real hip hop purists, the Geto Boy's Scarface is considered the true "King of the South".
Five months after Mind Playin' Tricks on Me was released came Tennessee's Arrested Development, and their brand of uplifting, spiritual party singles from their debut LP, 3 Years, 5 Months & 2 Days in the Life Of.... Their sound was a world apart from the sexually explicit, bass heavy party music of Miami, but sales were swift and reviews were raving. While Arrested Development was not able to keep their momentum going, their success did set the stage for the mainstream breakthrough of southern hip hop with OutKast and Goodie Mob in the middle of the decade.
OutKast, more than any other group, put Atlanta on the hip hop map, and became one of the most popular groups in hip hop by the end of the decade. Aquemini, their third LP, was a groundbreaking album that redefined southern hip hop, and was able to successfully appeal to both the core audience and the mainstream audience. While OutKast, Goodie Mob, and a number of other Atlanta-based acts (many, like OutKast and Goodie Mob, of them part of Organized Noize's Dungeon Family collective) balanced critical and commercial success, New Orleans rapper/label mogul Master P popularized a bounce-based sound that focused more on commercial appeal than artistry.
Master P's No Limit label popularized rappers such as Mystikal and Silkk the Shocker, and the compteting Cash Money label presented acts such as The Hot Boys (The B.G., Juvenile, Lil Wayne, and Turk). The No Limit/Cash Money formula was also successful co-opted by Miami's Slip-N-Slide label, which included Trick Daddy and Trina. Labels such as Cash Money and No Limit also caused Dirty South music to be associated with "mass produced" albums released rapidly (often with a whole page of the liner notes for each LP devoted to advertising its follow-ups), especially containing bright-colored, heavily detailed "bling bling"-style album covers. A number of other southern cities were the home base for popular hip hop acts.[1] The controversial Three Six Mafia hailed from Memphis, Tennessee, Scarface and The Geto Boys from Houston, Texas, Nappy Roots from Bowling Green, Kentucky, Petey Pablo from Greenville, North Carolina, and Missy Elliott, Timbaland, and The Neptunes from Virginia Beach.
Today, Southern rap is the most popular form of hip-hop today. East Coast (most notably New York) critics, DJ's, and even a few rappers have frequently expressed their distaste for Southern dominance, while East Coast rap is currently struggling for mainstream recognition. Some hip-hop experts speculate that this will eventually lead to a regional war, a la the infamous East Coast/West Coast feud

Southern musicians aren't used to being on the tail end of any genre. After all, the South is where jazz and blues were invented. Where Robert Johnson supposedly sold his soul to the devil so he could play the licks that would become rock 'n' roll. Where Ray Charles realized that gospel sounded just as good outside of church. So the past 25 years must have been painful for Southern rappers, having to stand by while New York City and Los Angeles rhymers got all the respect and most of the record sales. Not anymore. The South is finally where hip-hop's at. These days, the biggest acts on Billboard's.

Snap music is just partying music. There is nothing creative about the lyrics or the beats. Of course, it will never have global success or last forever just like all those T-shirt and other apparel songs. Rappers really need to become more original because it gets annoying when you hear snap ya fingers, do it do it, lean wit it rock wit it, do ya dance, and other phrases( i.e. Lil' Jon's new song) in every new song. This new style of music is going to come and go just like everything else

Grandmaster Flash's Definition Of Hip Hop
As one of the pioneers of who was known for his ability to mix music I mixed anything from Billy Squire to Michael Jackson to Thin Lizzy to Sly And The Family Stone to Glen Miller to Tschochosky..
When I laid this foundation down.. the key was we could take almost anything musically just as long as it had a beat to it.. so that the rhymer who flowed over the top of it could syncopate.. For anybody to say that whatever they're doing in Florida is not hip hop..or whatever they're saying in LA is not hip hop.. Who are these people to say that?.. There were songs that Bambaataa played that to this day I still don't know.. They were so funky.. Some of the ones I got the priviledge to know..I was suprised...You take a song like 'Apache' for example which was considered to be one of the hip hop main themes..Those were a bunch of white guys.. The Incredible Bongo Rock Band were white guys.. There was one person there who was Black.. He was King Erickson who was a percussionist...
For anybody to say 'this is not hip hop' or 'that is not hip hop' is wrong. That is not the way the formula was laid down.. It was for the people who were going to continue this to take anything...by all means necessary and string it along...

I don't feel as it "Snap Music" will replace "Crunk Music". Like previously stated before, "Snap Music" is more of a party type of sound for you to have a good time with. It's true that most of the time we listen to this style of music with are drunk or high, but isn't that the case with mostly all music. "Snap Music" is just a branch on the various style of music in the south. The beauty about being from the South is that we will give music a chance. It doesn't matter if it's from FL, Alabama, GA, NC, Tenn...etc we will listen because we relate to it.
It's no need to hate one music over the other, it't just that the South lacked a visible voice in the Hip-Hop game for many years. Now we have it and are doing things with it. We didn't gripe when we were spoon fed a mouth full of Northern Rap year after year. We listened, and took it for what it was. So we love artist from NY and Philly down here, but why can't we support our own music. It's our sound, our culture, our lifestyle and that means it's our type of Hip-Hop.
West Coast G'd the game up
East Coast got the history and Grime
It doesn't mean hiphop is dying because your region isn't on top right now. You can't blame it on anyone. We all move different and it's all a cycle.

What up with everybody, I took time to read everyones comments before I decide to write anything just so I wouldnt be bias. But I have watched snap music grow from Franchizes White T's to D4L's Bettcha can't do it like me and it has grown to an almost cult like following and how I see it is that you cant really just tie one group to the origin of snap music, both groups come from Bankhead, Bowen Homes to be exact and it started as an hood dance that niggas from Bankhead did Then my nigga Teriyaki Smith did the Bettcha cant do it like me beat and it took off from the Pool Palace. Now the Simplicity of it no one can argue with and any fool with fruity loops can make snap music. But I guarantee that no matter if you are a hardcore Hip-Hop follower who only listens to KRS-one or a nigga who likes Nelly..( you see he had Jermaine Dupri make that beat for his new song "Make me a Grill" Snap Music) that if you walk into the Pool Palace on Bankhead on a saturday night your ass is gonna Dance. And thats all it is for these niggas its not there main focus to go platinum they probally could give a fuck but they want to straight up and down make your ass dance, make some hoes dance and at the end of the night smoke a blunt fuck one of them hoes and take it back to the trap If you look close to everybody who does snap music I mean like the highlight groups like D4L, Franchize Boyz, Ben Hill, these is real niggas out the hood not no niggas who have finished all four years of high school maybe did a year of college nah these are real niggas in the hood you can buy a sack of purp from so it aint the future that they thinking about, Its the right now gimmie my money that they thinking about like real hustlers . So I cant blame my niggas for doing what they do I bettcha some of these niggas out here wish they could find a loop hole in the game and run with it but until then you just stuck hating on another nigga. Remember the only thing constant is change.

First off, let's stop the hatin' cause it's really unnecessary. If you like snap music, that's all well and good, if not, just don't listen to it. To all ya'll immature cats that posted, how would you know you didn't like snap music if you never listened to it? Stop, think about it!! You have listened to it and it made a big enough impression for ya'll to post comments about it. I promise you if any one of you were asked to type the lyrics of any song that is being played by D4L or DFB, ya'll could do it and not miss one lyric. But it is true, the rap game just ain't what it used to be. Nobody is original or truthful, its all about selling what will get you the most money, and that usually ends up being that bubblegum bullshit that the ethnically challenged seem to be attracted to.

Yall muthafuckas dont want nothing new. I do agree that some of D4L and DFB shit sound the same, but damn muthafuckas need to quit hatin and start makin your own shit up. Its hard enough for some of these underground artists to make it big...and yall bitch asses makin it harder with all this damn hatin...But keep doin whatcha do...dats just prolonging how long snap music will be out...Stop shacking salt on these groups game

The started the bounce back dance and its called the MOTORCYCLE for everybody who don't know. I think yall are trippin comparing styles like that...
Baton Rouge started Jigg
Houston got Screwed
ATL...crunk & snap
Oakland...been had Hyphy for a while but people finally caughting on
But my point i would like to state hip hop is all about personal expression and ingenuity...I listen to them all...but no matter the style we must learn to respect other niccas game...You can find me jiggin in BR, gettin dumb and Hyphy in oakland, pool palacing in ATL, its all about the culture niether is better...however if this were a conversation comparing artists it would be better...but all this is people bashin each others culture...

Im as confused as everyone else on this message board. But in a different way. Why are so many people calling this music or that music wack? The shit is all ART. Art doesnt have to appeal to everyone. Not everyone will see the same qualities in the same art.
If you dont like snap music, then dont support the shit. If you dont like screw then dont support the shit, no big deal. But why all the talkin down? Everyone has different preferences in music. Hell, not everybody wants to sit down and hear some sob story about the ghetto everytime they listen to the radio or hear some backpack rapper go on and on about world peace. Some people just want to listen to some simple shit and have a good time and NO MORE.
Its absurd to hear so many people berating music just because it doesnt appeal to their little preference or whatever. Man put your earphones on and listen to YOUR shit then or go make the music you want to listen to your damn self.
Posted by: silencer at June 17, 2006 2:25 AM
whats also funny is the amount of people berating certain music. I bet if you were to listen to their mp3's them hoes would have a bunch of trash ass shit wouldnt nobody else like either...lmao. Buncha Clay Aiken and shit....lol

Posted by: Cairo at July 5, 2006 9:28 AM
Actually, I would like to clarify a few things concerning the questionable topic at hand. First. I started the "Snap"...if that's what you want to call it. I'm from Buffalo, NY. I spent time in Harlem and brought the Shake back to Buffalo with me. Only thing, it just has less shimmy.
The I drop a few more steps on it and accented the pose on a Jame Brown type group with a MJ type pop.
So, somebody picked it up and carried it around. Thing is, it's not quite right but it will do. I did it much funkier, it's a little stiff right now, but that westside step you guys added in helps alot. Cherish is doing it the best.. So it's ok. I like what youre doing with it, it has a life of it's own now.
BTW, I'm just turned 44 last month, but I can still gets back to my get-down get down. All up on it like it.

Atlanta always been on some piggyback shit. First they bite Miami Bass, then after Memphis niggas start doing shows down there they wanna start getting "crunk". Aint nobody in ATL threw no bow before '98... yall niggas was on some shawty swing my way my boo type shit. Memphis niggas been gettin buck and tearing clubs up since '88.
What Atlanta did was take the hardness off Memphis Rap and made the shit commercial. That old Memphis shit way too raw for the radio. I gives a damn about that, but I'm just saying respect this shit mane...

It does not matter if "crunk" is dead or if "snap" is the new "crunk". The reality is, that hip hop has died due to both of the "genres". In general, Southern artists and acts like D4L, Dem Franchize Boyz, Yung Joc and the infamous "Chopped & Screwed" act are the main ones who killed it. Hip-hop needs a saviour. Those are acts that make everyone else believe that we are all still ignorant, senseless beings. don't call me rascist, because i have just told you all i'm black in the previous sentence. Hip-hop needs a saviour.
Peace Out.
