to you idiots that posted, you fuckers have no clue about what luda was trying to represent! that suit was hard, and theres a reason it was hard. You ever use the word NIGGA. NIGGAZ? Its a derogatory word that we have now for better or worse took ownership of. well in the case of the confedrate outfit. 100 years ago, a nigga wouldnt get cought wearing that flag, he might've even been killed for it. it was a power move dummies! its saying we can wear your punk ass flag and take ownership off it just like we did the word nigga. read a book muthafuckas

Hey it was a good move, considering US history more black people were killed under the American Flag, and nowadays with past wars and this one in Iraq who would wanna were Old glory today.

Georgia niggaz are tooo ignorant.I used to live in Georgia for 5 years. Its soooo raiscts down there that the most racist of people are the black people because they hate themselves. If you are bi or multiracial you will never here the end of it. I never got racis tcomments diected at me from white people in georgia only the blacks.......you know why? niggaz in the south still have that slave mind and Luda further proves it. During the Civil war southren slave owners forced blacks into the conferderate army to fight against the Union. Bascily get the niggaz to fight to keep slavery. yeah, check me on that! READ A BOOK. Niggaz where maked to fight to keep slavery under that conferate flag. that's dirty. Next, Why do mutli-rascial get treated like shi tin the south? READ A BOOK. In the south alot of blacks still have the slave mindset. remember in slave if you were mixed YOU wren't picking cotton. you were a "House Nigga" and its been a cold war between light and dark blacks in the south. I used to take thosefucking tongue lashing. Now i'm a grwon ass man. when they ask me, "Hey what are you?" not "hey, whats your nationality? aka. "what the fuck are you") like theirs something wrong being mixed, like your below THEM. I respond by saying, "My family members wren't picking cotton so i guess I'm a house nigga, huh!"

Stop all the"Slave Talk" its not an accent its Slave Talk. Slaves talked like that because they DIDN't know how to PRONOUCE english corretly and wren't aloowed. But today, there is no fucking excuse. whatever. just because you got teased in when you were younger doesnt mean Southernors have a slave mentality. I used to live up North, and I encountered just as much racism as I would here. So dont even give me that shit.
Anyway, Big up Luda for the wearing that outfit. That's a huge statement. Northernors will never understand. Ya'll just go by what you see on documentaries. White folks try to use that flag as a symbol of power in the South, and by Luda wearing it, it takes away their power and shows how insignificant their stupid flag is. Lil Jon made the same statement in the "Bia, Bia" video.
Northernors dont see that flag everday like Southernors do. So I guess by you seeing it on T.V.(and by Luda actually wearing it) I can see how it might offend some folks. But, you have understand the statement he was trying to make before you judge.

THE BLACK TRUTH is telling the damn truth. I also have spent some time in GA and would actully like to move there (ATL)specifically, but with all do respect being from up north I can vouch for BLACK TRUTH. Its not even the fact that negros down there know that they are ignorant, the are proud of their ignorance. When I met one of my cousin's friends he told them that I spoke French and was learning Korean, his friends started laughing and started saying shit like damn son only white folks learn that many languages. As if there is something wrong with a black man who can speak a foreign language. I just laughed it off but I was thinking to myself " and to think Dr. King took a bullet for your ignorant black ass."
Posted by: Lawrence at November 17, 2005 11:24 AM
If anybody sits back and THINKS about what he did by wearing that outfit, YOU WOULD UNDERSTAND WHY..White folks are real touchy when it comes to that flag, especially in the south. And black folks are real touchy about racist jokes and white people using the word NIGGA, and white people know that we (as blacks) don't like those jokes and comments, so they say things and do things that would piss us off on purpose, and don't care what we think about it. So, Ludacris did the same thing to them that they do to us by wearing that flag. They say fuck us, so he said fuck them. KEEP DOING YA THANG LUDA......

Ludacris is too creative for this! I gotta be offended by this, im sorry. Its not about us owning our culture or any of that bullshit. Its about repsect for the people that came before us. How would yall feel if u could go back in time and hear white folks beating your ancestors while callin them niggers...UNDER A CONFEDERATE FLAG WHERE DOING SHIT LIKE THAT WAS LEGAL. Or imagine seeing another one of your ancestors being raped while being called a nigger...UNDER A CONFEDERATE FLAG WHERE SHIT LIKE THAT WAS LEGAL!!!
Im usually the dude that reads the comments in these blogs and i see a long one and i think, "C'mon, homie! U didnt have to type all that!" But this one is serious, we aint talkin about 50, or Game, or G-unit, or anything trivial like that. 100 years from now, NOBODY IS GONNA REMEMBER GET RICH OR DIE TRYIN! NOBODIES GONNA REMEMBER 300 BARS AND RUNNIN! But, 100 years from now, this flag shit and "n-word" shit will probably still be an issue, unless we try to end it now
I live in Ga, but im from Philly. I used to think all Goergia people were ignorant, but after living down here for a while i started to see that wasnt the case. Actually, most black Georgians that i meet or have met are very educated and don't talk with that thick-ass accent. Even those that do are still REALLY sayin sumthin...it's just hard to understand them. Profound statements and all that...
I'm askin as a Black person from the north, down here livin with Black People in the south, why are we segregatin ourselves? Didnt we just fight to end that? My grandaddy always said," Boy, 1960 wasn't all that long ago."
Anyway, back to my original point, This confederate suit idea was wack!
For yall who may not agree with MY PERSONAL FEELINGS, Dont waste your time comin back at me with an angry message, dont tell me to "READ A BOOK" cuz you wouldn;t believe how many books (written by credible authors) I've read.
Look at us...we even segregated oursleves on this blog...!

Black truth that's fucked up what happened to you, but don't categorize your experience of black people from the south. I understand your issue, but every black person in the south did not ask "what you were". I'm sorry you ran into a bunch of dumb mf's. We don't have a slave mentatlity, cause most black people down here will beat a white person ass at the drop of a dime, instead of being submissive and subordiante. From my experience, I would suggest that because there is not as much culture down here as out west and up north, black people here are curious as to your race. Trust me white people down here wanted to ask you the same thing, but were too hesitant.
Also, Smoke is in jail. His court date is Monday.

You have to look at the whole performance to understand. Nobody said shit about the pictures of black leaders and scenes from the civil rights movement on the screen in the back. Luda put the confederate flag on to coincide with those images to show where blacks came from and what we had to go through in the South.
Then he flipped it and had the confederate flag in red, black, and green to show that that bullshit ass flag is nothing to be afraid of anymore. He took ownership of it by saying fuck that, yeah I'm a black man on tv trying to put this racist shit to rest. We don't have to fight to sit at fuckin lunch counters anymore. I think that it was a wonderful performance and it shows what can happen when hip hop artists use their voice to speak about something powerful and positive and show people that we are moving forward, rather than listening to some dumbass rappers talking about drugs and shooting all day. I bet you If somebody got there ass kicked at the vibe awards again people would have been mad if the news said niggas don't know how to act, but Luda shows that we are intelligent black people and black people lose their minds. Wake Up My People!

First like I said I understand what Luda was trying to do but I thought it was ignorant. So what now we are gonna walk around with white hoods over our heads, looking like the KKK to show ownership of that. The flag is negative. I live in the south. I've lived in the south all my life. The sight of that flag pisses me off every single time I see it. Its a symbol of racism and forget ownership of racist memorabilia or symbols. How about we remove these symbols from our present culture. Wearing the confederate flag does not show that you are changing its meaning--that's the most ridiculous thing I have ever heard. No one wants to see that damn flag because of what it represents. Luda having it plastered over his clothes does not change what it represents.

black truth you got your facts together but you using them wrong! how can something be brought to your attention if your not paying attention to it. sometime we have to be contraverisal to lite a spark under some people. he is as lite as you are so he would have been a house nigga too! but these are different times and tho theres is not slavery they keep you in line in other ways. you can play basketball but you cant own a team. you can live in this country but we dont want a black president. i think that luda was makin a statement that we need to discuss and see what steps we can take to not be headed back down that road. but i do understand why you feel that way i grew up in memphis for a while and i think that people except to many things they give us a little and we are content.

black truth you are so right, I am from up top and I moved down to MD/DC a few months ago and it is like that here. I get ridiculed because I appear to be mixed (even though I am not) and I have an education. so i have been labeled a 'white girl.' I would hate to move further south, I just call them bamas and keep it moving.

Before you jump to silly conclusions (as some of you already have) read what LUDACRIS had to say about it:
November 17, 2005
In response to the Confederate Flag being worn by Chris "Ludacris" Bridges on the VIBE Awards:
The discussions that have been sparked after my performance of "Georgia" at the 2005 VIBE Awards is my exact reason for wearing a depiction of the Confederate Flag. This flag represents the oppression that we as African Americans have endured for years; this is a symbol of segregation and the racism that reigned not only throughout the South but throughout the entire United States.
I wore it to represent where we came from, to remind people that Ray Charles' original "Georgia" was written because of that racism. At the end of the performance, I removed and stomped on the flag to reveal my version of the flag; a flag comprised of black, red and green. Those are the colors of Africa. It is a representation and my interpretation of where we were and where we need to go. Racism is just as prevelant now and if we are not constantly mindful of our history and take charge of it; history is destined to repeat itself because of ignorance. In order to move forward, we must never forget where we were.
I hope people continue to question and challenge authority, media and themselves because questioning and challenging can only lead to enlightenment.

Please, enough with the north-south stereotypes, I've lived in Chi-town, Hawaii, VA, and currently Atlanta. Blacks down here don't hate themselves, but whites down here love the confederate flag- if you want black people to stop hatin each other, then stoop spreading lies about your own community. If you ARE from the A, then you know what you wrote is a lie. If you AINT from the A, then you dont know what you're talkin about (and why would you come here?) Stick to what you know, son.

whatever. just because you got teased in when you were younger doesnt mean Southernors have a slave mentality.
But, you have understand the statement he was trying to make before you judge.
real talk

I was feelin what luda was wearing. The dude is very deep. If you listen to the song the state it self represented the confed's at that time. So what he was doing was getting back at all them white folks who still believe in that whole movement. Let it do what it do! And that ni$$a smoke from the mob is locked up again. Oh boy was on bet freestyle friday a few weeks ago and had on a Free Smoke tee-shirt. Not sure if it related to that drug charge he caught earlier this year in Albany. Yo check out my artist Yung Spyda at www.firecords.com, He is a young cat that got a sick spit.

It seems to me black truth that your battle is not with Luda wearing the flag its about you not being accepted as a bi-racial man. If you would have seen the pictures in the background during the performance you would have noticed the pictures of the civil rights movement, slavery, and the war on poverty which complimented Luda's outfit. At the end of the performance the choir performed about better days and how the Lord is going to make a way which also complimented the outfit. Look at the whole picture people. As a brown-skinned woman I must say that not only in the South but black people as a Society feel light is better. We see such issues through advertising, tv, music videos, etc. When we speak of beauty within our race we name such people as Beyonce Knowles, Halle Berry, Alicia Keys etc. The number of light-skin people that grace the high fashion magazines such as your Vogues or Vanity Fair compared to Dark-skin is ....... These magazines aren't delivered on just SOUTHERN DOORSTEPS. Until recently this year I would turn on the videos of BET or MTV and the women were light-skin long flowing pretty hair and looked as if they were from another ethnic background whether it was white/black or latino/black or korean/black. And when I do see such women as Chessika (David Banner "Play") KiToy (Outkast "The way you Move") or Buffie the Body ( Tony Yayo) I notice that they had ALOT MORE TO OFFER on the eye candy side of things. And no this concept was not valid in only SOUTHERN VIDEOS SOUTHERN RECORD COMPANIES AND SOUTHERN CASTING AGENCIES. To advertise products for the urban community I hardly notice people of my complexion or my distinctive features. AND NO THESE WERE NOT JUST SOUTHERN ADVERTISING COMPANIES. If a light-skin woman with soft wavy black hair and a dark-skin woman with a coarse short fro appeared before some men regardless of what region, who do you think they would prefer viewing as eye candy. So why make such a judgement that only Southern people have the backwards slave mentality of 400+ years that plagues our Black Community. I was cheated out of alot of things because I was not as light. I got by because my hair was just as pretty and long and my features were just as striking. I have always been told that I was beautiful to be "DARK-SKINNED". People would not include me in certain functions because I was a little darker than others. I love to dress and I carry myself with pride but just to get noticed over a redbone I would have to have a bangin body nice outfit with the matching shoes, earrings, purse, accessories and my million dollar smile. But those were my struggles through life and I learned from them and became the strong woman I am today. Your battle is within yourself black truth. Not Georgia or Southern people with slave mentalities. Overall I thought Ludacris had the best performance for those who actually focused on the message and the concept.

Ya'll need to try and control your emotions a little better. I see almost everyone who posted using the word "nigga", and a couple of idiots talking about "read a book" who can't even spell. Maybe it was stupid, maybe it wasn't. It was a publicity stunt that did exactly what it was supposed to. What ya'll need to do is go buy a KRS-One album and call it a day.

Black Truth it seems to me that your battle is not with Luda wearing the Flag or "Southerns" having slave mentalites, but within yourself not being accepted as a bi-racial man. But that's another blog. Anyway, for those who actually watched the performance should have noticed the pictures on the big screen behind Luda, which included such pictures as Slavery, The Civil Rights Movement, the war on poverty which complimented his outfit. At the end "Georgia" the choir which was separted (all blacks on one side wearing white robes and all whites on the other wearing black robes) united and sang about better days and how the Lord was going to make a way which also complimented his outfit. THe outfit solidified the message he was trying to convey about not just "Georgia" and strip clubs and chicken but black people as a community and how we need to come together with those of other races. Ludacris by far had the best performance with a dynamite concept for those who paid attention to more than the outfit. I was very proud of the message and how he turned his Southern Pride for his state into a performance meaningful

Much love to Luda of reminding us of our history. Everybody knows he wasn't supporting the confederacy or dixie so stop with the hurt feelings and and all that sensitive shit. He did it to remind us where we've been and took it off to symbolize the power that we (the hip hop generation) possess. The media likes to portray us as ignorant and materialistic, and have succesfuly convinced alot of black people that we are powerless.
I'm glad he used his platform to make a statement. Why are ya'll hatin him for it? The media wants you to believe that the only negro with balls enough to speak out on something is Kanye West ( white people's favorite black rappper) when you and I know that isn't the case. To BLACK TRUTH, I understand the undertone and gist of the message you were trying to send. However, I couldn't help but laugh at the irony of it. The reason being is because as many times as you said 'read a book', it seems that you never have due to the immense amount of spelling, grammatical, and puctuation errors in your message. Since you were such a house nigga, the least you could have done was READ A BOOK while you were in there. Otherwise, you might as well have just brought your half-breed ass outside with the rest of us and helped with the cotton-pickin'... fool! LOL

The Black Truth
I will check you on that. You were partially right by saying blacks were forced to fight to keep slavery. Actually slaves were told that if they help fight they would be freed, but this is not the first time this happen. This also happen in the Revolutionary War as well by both the British and US Colonies. They both promised freedom for patrotism, but both renigged on the deal after the war.
By the way Luda is not the first Southern Rappers to wear the cONFEDERATE fLAG out fit. Lil Jon and the East Side boyz tried that shit about 5 years ago, but it didn't play out like they thought it would. I say fuck that flag and lets focus on some more important issues. I had my black ass at work so I didn't see the awards show!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

And speak about "reading a book"... yo ass need to do much reading because just like Luda and his simpleton reaction by trying to take "action" was pure backwards!
Luda wearing that silly ass Confederate flag is as honorable for a direct stance on black owership(?) as a Jew running around wearing a Swatika and saying "we OWN this symbol of DEATH"!

That was a risky move for someone to pull at the Vibe Awards. What he should have done was after ripping off the Confederate Flag outfit, exposing the Afro-American Flag suit; he should have burned the ripped outfit in a bin. That way he wouldn’t be labeled a sellout, Alabama porch monkey, Bo Jangling, foot shuffling, sambo.
I don’t think Luda is foolish enough to represent himself as a supporter of White Supremacy by intentionally wearing the confederate flag. I have to give him the benefit of doubt that his intention was to ridicule that racist image. And any black person that believes wearing the confederate flag is representing the south needs to be smacked up side the head with the book “Malcolm X on Afro-American History”; go to the book store today and pick it up.

whatever. just because you got teased in when you were younger doesnt mean Southernors have a slave mentality.

Man get the fuk outta here talkin bout livin in GA for 5 years and talkin that crazy shyt.....that ain't enough time to know or learn a damn thang about the south. You were imported....you can't talk if you weren't born and raised in this bitch!
You livin off some regurgetated shyt from a fukin book clown....just to keep it real, we can go interacial all day in the south but not many people are down to create families like that....more than anything its to try to hold on to our bloodlines as black people....we've already been separated to the fullest from the truth of OUR existance......
If we were still IN TOUCH with AFRICA as a people, it wouldn't matter...but over here outside of these possessions and shyt....we don't have shyt but each other....
Now, on Luda's fit, I agree wit the other homie that it was a power move to take the power our of THEIR symbolism......but I don't see it becoming the norm......

You people need to stop generalizing, and artists need to stop trying to send messages, some of them, like Luda, should just say what they are feeling. Luda was wrong for that outfit, but his intentions were okay. It's pretty much the same as how black people say "nigga". We need to stop that by the way.

I can understand people saying Luda was trying to make a statement with the flag outfit by ripping it off, but saying it represents the blacks in the south is ignorant. Your brothas and sistas were hung like cattle at a slaughterhouse, burn to a crisp by racist redneck crackers who held the confederate flag over the US flag. And the US flag is racist too. If you want a flag to represent you, do like Luda and rock the red, the black, and the green. Don't say the Confederate flag is symbolic to black southerners; racist white people would be laughing at you with a statement like that.
WAKE UP MY PEOPLE!!! WHAT WAS THE MILLION MAN MARCH ABOUT!!!

I think Luda was reading the Lil Flip blog where he was getting Sh*tted on for never rapping about anything of substance, maybe it finally hit him that for the past 5 years he's been rapping NONSENSE and has finally woke up. AMEN!!! Now he needs to take those feelings and put them in a verse, call Kayne for a track, and we can start really harnessing the power of the spoken word to the masses, or maybe not and he'll just go back to rapping about how big is chain is, how fast his car goes, and how many women he's mounted.....

Heh, heh, people. Why are we beefing on this issue. Yeah Luda did some stuff that we were taken by surprise, but that's him. If he wants to wear a conferate flag suit and make a statement, then so be it. Yeah in my opinion I know what he was trying to do. To me personally I would not wear a flag that symbolised the blood of slaves and innocent black men and women that were raped, accused of crimes they did not commit, and hanged. But once again that's Luda. He has to do him.
Posted by: devil son at November 17, 2005 04:45 PM
I can't believe you all are seriously talking about how Luda sold out for wearing the flag because our ancestors were beaten under it. How many of our ancestors were lynched and families and churches were burned alive while called a NIGGA but I'm pretty sure half of you all on this blog call each other NIGGA or have used it once in your lifetime. HOW MANY OF OUR PEOPLE WERE BEAT AND HIT IN THE FACE WITH ROCKS BECAUSE THEY WANTED TO FURTHER THEIR EDUCATION and how many black men and women do you see sitting on the block or at traps or at home because "school isn't for everybody". Probably half of you all on this blog barely made it through high school and damn sure ain't thinking about college. How many protests our people before us marched in and were beaten for as blood flowed like a river through the streets because they wanted racial harmony and harmony within the community. But look at how Black on Black crime has escalated and how we our quick to sell out our brother for a buck (and yes this mentality did exsists during before and after slavery). How many of our women were raped by their masters during Slavery or a white man and were killed and called BITCHES and SLUTS and how many of our men respect our women and how many women respect themselves and each other. If we want to criticize Luda for selling out then all of us have sold out one point in time in our lives. And half of us sell-out every damn day. By sweeping it under a rug doesn't mean it didn't happen and the issue isn't going to go away. Racism is still alive and well. I APPLAUD LUDACRIS FOR GOING AGAINST THE NORM OF ICE NICE CHEVYS AND HOES ON STAGE WITH THEIR ASSES HANGING OUT AND CONVEY A PERFORMANCE OF HOPE.
Remember when Bill Cosby made his contraversial remarks he was questioned why did he say it in such a harsh manner he replied "If I would have stated it any differently the people would not have listened."
Posted by: onequickthought at November 17, 2005 04:46 PM
the people on here writing that luda wearing that fit took us back a step need to use their brains for at least two seconds..............why do you think he would try to bring his own people down? why did he shoot part of his recent video in africa? why does he put out albums so his crew who happen to be blac, can eat? that flag represents years of hate and injustice.luda was showing these people that we dont give a fuck about that flag, and it no longer means anything.

I am currently a college student majoring in Biology with a minor in chemistry with a 3.5 GPA so why was your entry directed towards me. hmmmm pointless. I was using the phrase as an example that OTHERS use for an excuse. And yes there are people like myself trying to follow the Dream MLK had for us but there are so many more who don't follow in those footsteps and could give a damn. Great point you made but it should have been directed somewhere else. Read my entry again and follow the context clues

I got cha, it first seemed you were dissing educated blacks.my bad. I have a great concern when it comes to this. The "Rap Dream" is like the "Basket ball" dream of the 90's. You know, where alot of black kids think the only why to sucess is to become a rapstar or sports player. Truth be told I hardly do respect rap artist....the average rapper as a man is not smarter than me. Why listen to them period? I only read hip-hop websites just to see what one of these dumb-fucks fucked up. Also, the NBA did something that I AM proud of.....they're making their player dress professional. it's about time. Our black kids should see black professinals dressing the part. I'm not dissing Hip-Hop dress code but Seeing a professional black man or woman in a suit is psychologicaly more powerful instead of seeing them on TV dressed like kids.

i dont really know what luda meant with that outfit other than fuck the rebel flag and supporting his heritage, but whatever he was sayin took more nuts than sayin "george bush dosent like black people." no diss to kanye but honest, where does luda live? that is sayin fuck you to thousands of people right in front of them, and hes a good man for doin it. he was makin one of the biggest political statements this century. that took courage, as much courage as a biracial couple not bein scared to love eachother and not be scared to show it, in any region. how many southern rappers talk about that? ludacris does, david banner does, but who else? know that ludacris meant well. black and whites need to forget what their fathers relationships were and think about what there sons relationships will be.

As far as Luda....It was just for shock value i guess but it was a kind of stupid stunt. He could have had dressed like a old-school black panther ( thats not racist either because their were whites and others in the panthers) and came on stage with a real black panther on a chain leash, lol. That would have the same meaning and it would be a good stunt. I was in georgia some years ago and it was forth of july and all of these red-necks came stoping throu the parade and down streets showing their racist flag. The blacks didn't do a damn thing, not one afrian flag, not one panther call or any of those SUPER-THUGGED OUT STREET ANTICS. They just stood there1 I was too young then but i was so pissed. Not the fact that the red necks where their but the blacks didn't do shit! but I bet when they go back home to the 'hood, some nigga is ready to go take care of another with his AK for stepping on his shoes in the club. Thats stupid. Just my thought what do y'all think???????????????

I read the article that featured Ludacris response to the statement and I support him 100% The most powerful thing I took from his response is this particualr statement:
"Racism is just as prevalent now and if we are not constantly mindful of our history and take charge of it; history is destined to repeat itself because of ignorance. In order to move forward, we must never forget where we were. I hope people continue to question and challenge authority, media and themselves because questioning and challenging can only lead to enlightenment."
Very powerful words I hope those misguided from his performance take heed to them.

ludacris wore that outfit cause he really doesn't have a home state. er'body know he claim atl but he really from chicago. and when people mention who's da rappers in da they say luda ,but at the same time they always say he's not really from da south. so i think more than anything he was tryin to say he's from da south. Georgia!!!!!

CSA flag racist? Southerners are honky and racist? Bull....... General R. E. Lee despised the peculiar institution of slavery that had been started in North America by Indians, perpetuated by the Spanish, Portuguese, Dutch, English and the damnYankees long before any Confederate States of America came along. Stonewall Jackson shared his money for the spiritual welfare of Blacks, Lee set his inherited slaves free and the Yankee- Union General Grant only freed his Black slaves when the Constitutional Amendment forced him to do so. The South is a cauldron of hatred? NAAAAA..... Unless of course you mean that some biased, prejudiced, mean spirited members of so-called minorities are such--- plainly manifested by their shamelessly ignorant expressions of: Nigga, Ho's, Honky, Gringo, etc. Pathetic. Some of these people say they have taken ownership of terms, phrases, flags, and other such things that evidently belong in the public domain. The public domain has no individual claim or ownership! Don't be a Pendejo and claim that someone or anyone can assume "ownership" of something in the public domain.
Also, if said ignorant people claim that ONLY the CSA flag represents the enslavement of Blacks, at least be honest and be aware of how much MORE does the USA's Stars and Stripes, the Mexican flag, The Spanish, Portuguese, Dutch and many African and Arabian flags since--- THEY ARE THE VERY PEOPLES AND NATIONS THAT STARTED AND MAINTAINED ALL THIS MESS IN AFRICA, ASIA, THE MIDDLE EAST, NORTH AND SOUTH AMERICA!!
Sir Winston Leonard Spencer Churchill said:
"STUDY HISTORY! STUDY HISTORY!"
The ignorant people who hate, attack and villify the South must think he was just bumping his gums????? Lord have mercy on this bunch of ignorant folk 'cause they shore don't know what they are doing.

Niggas never read books anyways, ya'll the only mofos I ever heard of get headaches from readin'. Gott Damn, I laughed when I heard that shit, man, ya'll mofo's weren't allowed to read and then after you were allowed by all your ancestors who fought for ya'll to read, ya'll acting like reading is a crime. Ya'll even go to the back of the bus like you were conditioned to it even after Rosa Parks made her statement. I just don't know how some of you even live today, acting ignorant as fuck and complain about not getting any damn education. ya'll say that southerners are country as all hell, but people from Florida don't sound too country to me, and for those who ATL is the joint, cool, there are educated folks over there, but they're form the North, most come from New England, New York, New Jersey, even Pennsylvania so I dont' know why even claim Southerners are smart of whatever, because even the white ones are dumb as fuck. My boy's gone to ATL and he's told me that the only mofo's working at the Hotels are Black and yeah, they are all working those minimum wage jobs. I haven't heard of anybody white working as maids or butlers, except blacks, so what progress is that. Ya'll don't even support each other, all ya'll is spew hate upon one another. Can't even get along, man, ya'll are pathetic. but hey, Luda wanna make a statement, hey, you're stooping to the white man's level, have to go low as a snake, lower your pride, but I can see why they do it because the white boys down south love that flag. maybe they should burn it to see what happens. ya'll mothaf*&kas are just plain dumb. you know that no matter how much ligher you are they consider you a "ni*&er" wether you're dark or light. keep it real. if you're a house nigga or a field ni&*a, you're still a ni&*a so don't forget that. they still consider you that, well, atleast them dumb-uneducated-white boys will say that.

To the Lil' Homie Cutty Ranks: I never said that what Luda did was "honorable". What I basically said was back in the good ole boy days, If a "nigga" saw that flag and he was out of bounds, he better run for his life. What Luda basically did was show that that flag don't scare us anymore. And for the record, i'm not from the south i'm from CALI, but every nigga ROOTS come from the south, so i represent right along with my southern brothas. My family is from the M I crooked letter. and on a bonus note, niggaz like you is why we can't prosper as a people, our race has too much hate in our blood...it's too many willie lynch ass niggaz in our communities...

Posted by: The Black Truth at November 18, 2005 10:15 AM
I respect everyones opinion on this, but basically if your not from the South you wouldnt understand the statement Luda was making. Plain and simple.
And it's ironic that the people who are the most offended by this are people from the North.
Posted by: quE at November 18, 2005 10:20 AM
Because people from up North think they know every thing. Same goes for their hatred of Southern music. But, dont even get me started ont that! Keep doing ya thing Luda. Thats a huge statement he made.
Posted by: shyne at November 18, 2005 10:24 AM
PERSONALLY, I'M NOT FEELING THAT FLAG. I DON'T PROMOTE RACISM OR ANYTHING THAT HAS STRONG CONNECTIONS WITH THE KKK OR ANY HATE ORGANIZATION OF ANY KIND. I GUESS IN HIS MIND, HE WAS TRYING TO MAKE A STATEMENT BY WEARIN THAT FLAG, BUT I KNOW I WAS KINDA CONFUSED WHEN HE CAME OUT WITH OUTFIT SINGIG GEORGIA. THAT'S LIKE A SMACK IN THE FACE OF OUR ANCESTORS WHO DIED FOR US TO HAVE THE OPPORTUNITIES WE HAVE TODAY. HE GAVE A NICE PERFORMANCE, BUT IT WAS OVERSHADOWED BY HIS OUTFIT. I GUESS THAT FLAG WILL ALWAYS BE PART OF THE SOUTH. HATE IT OR LOVE IT. I HATE PERSONALLY. LUDA IS STILL AN EXCELLENT ARTIST. JUST GIVING CREDIT WHERE IT'S DUE. THAT'S MY OPINION. DEAL WITH IT. PEACE. MR.ikOnZ..THE GIFTED CURSE. B'KLYN'S FINEST!!!!
Posted by: MR.ikOnz at November 18, 2005 10:28 AM
I have lived in the south for a while before and i left cali and i'm in the south again. I already understand whatit is down here. My moms still lives in georgia. I can tell you that it is all bullshit!!!! I when to highschool in the south and middle. I know those brothers mentally. It is not about black impowerment they let those rascist white fucks run their lives like its cool. We can fight each other over opposing gang colors but if a white walked passed a black man rockin' "the Flag" the black man would not say shit! Y'all know it! I'm seen it a million times. I think sourthren brother should tak eit back to the panther days if they wanna be "Political" about race problems and if your black don't wear that fucking flag on your body. Luda should have burned the flag live onstage if he REALLY wanted to make a statement!!!
Posted by: The Black Truth at November 18, 2005 10:49 AM
luda calls himself show black impowerment but you hear white folks laughing at him. Like its free advertising for the KKK. Their laughing at him. He should have burned it live onstage and then follow up by encouraging blacks to not go into the millitary and go to college!11 That would have gotten white folks pissed the fuck off. but he didn't.

Like I said before, the only people who are offended by this are people who are not from the South. You people just dont understand the statement he was making because your not from here. But, yet your quick with an opinion. Thats ignorance if u ask me.
Posted by: quE at November 18, 2005 11:26 AM
Black Truth, Thank You for saving me the energy to having to respond to the ignorant ass nigga that claims blackwallstreet. Young Bang I know you don't have a father or big brother, but its going to be ok for you ok lil man? you have nothing else to follow, so you want to attach yourself to the GAME. well al least you didn't say GGGGGGGGG UNIT! No, " I'm trying to kick that shit you NEED to learn though, That ether, the shit to make soul burn slow...

I also respect everyone's opinions. If anyone has followed Luda in his career they should know he did what he did for a good reason. Everyone may not agree with it or understand it, but I'm sure many people got his point and as stated before, it got people talking. So for everyone who says it was ignorant and pushes black power back, I hope you're doing your fair share of black empowerment, if not for society as a whole then at least for yourself. If not, you have nerve even saying anything. Finally, I just really had to say that I am so glad someone called THE BLACK TRUTH out on his ridiculous grammar. PLEASE, stop telling people to READ A BOOK and preaching about education and your comments look like you didn't finish the 2nd grade. Do you know how crazy that looks? I'm trying so hard to listen to your point of view and i'm seriously having a hard time getting past your spelling/grammar. Let's not be a hypocrite and act like we have a little sense. I'm from the South too so we can't blame that on your shortcomings. But I love all my black people, just proofread your shit before you post it so we can take you seriously okay boo boo?
Posted by: atlsweetie at November 18, 2005 02:04 PM
I was born in the south and still live here, and i was taken aback by the flag, but i understood what he was trying to do.My main issue is with "northerners' who have this elitist attitude like everybody from the south is a "bama," ignorant, uneducated...it needs to stop. The same prejudice views "non-southerners" have are just as bad as racist or ignorant whites. How can blacks as a whole, ever expect acceptance when we can't get over skin color, and the whole "north vs. south" stereotype?I agree that ignorance is rampant in the south, but it has nothing to do with growing up in the south. It's a matter of personal responsibility...wanting to explore life outside of your own
existance.Ignorance is everywhere, i've traveled north, south, east, west and contrary to what some may think, just b/c ur from "up top" doesn't mean you're more educated or more cultured. The south has plenty of culture, but people are just too busy stereotyping to realize it.Basically, if you don't like what the south has to offer, then continue to stay where you're most comfortable, but don't make ridiculous comments b/c of your own ignorance.

I see it time and time again, ni&*as always talking about each other's grammar, you have Black Truth, who's telling you to read a book like he's one of them Born-again Muslim dudes that come out of Jail with a torn A&*hole, preaching about "read a book" and he needs to get his grammar straightened out before he posts. try "spellcheck" on Word before you post Nucka. and please stop telling people to read a book. is that something you just discovered? man, I bet you discovered a whole different world outside of your surrounding cell, huh? you probably are still in jail for doing something stupid like rob a liquor store. and as for Hammertime, you have the utmost dumbest nigga I've ever seen on this post, pollutin' your body with chemicals and then watntin' to kill somebody, do you need your momma to come back from the dead, don't you have family nigga, damn, ya'll are just too ignorant to realize that Luda was just wearing the suit to make a statement. I'm not from the South, but who cares anyways, ya'll are too stupid to even think that white people care about that nonsense. people from the South are so Ass-backwards anyways, from the way that you talk to the way that you act. Most of you down there don't even like change, rather spend the day on the porch drinking and smoking(because you don't have corners like NY, bunch of country hicks) and yeah, it's country as all hell over there, I wonder how you spend your days, other than wanting to drive around wanting to kill somebody like Hammertime's asinine self. so what somebody's gonna die. Man, you a punk just for using a Glock, try killin' them with a knife, I bet you're too dumb to know what a knife is. Oh, my bad, I meant an Ox(a box cutter) or a Blade. can't say it right because as it seems the only you can evaluate or analyze something is when you smoke or drink, interesting. I wonder what happens when you dont' smoke, you retarded f&*k. let's face it. Most of you on this computer are either in jail using up some valuable time trying to holla at one of your DL boys(oh my bad, I meant your boys) or your at a library using up all that free typing nonsense. and if you have a decent computer, than cool. but don't act like you're a thug if you're on a computer, homos. Bunch of E-thugs, won't know what to do with a Glock. Hey, Hammertime, can you field strip a Glock. do you even know the what the impact of a Glock could do to you, Do You know how to aim. No wonder most of you go to the Millitary. Too damn stupid to know self-discipline. Show some self-respect, Hammertime. I Love Black People, but I can't STAND NIGGAS

Kalonni I will co-sign with you 100% on that. Your blog was beautifully put. I couldn't have said it better. For those coming down on Luda read Kalonni blog again and backtrack all the thoughts you've had towards others who don't think like you, talk the same slang as you, or aren't from your region etc. And qUE maybe you are partially right on your conclusion because I'm from the South and I am very proud of the statement Luda did. We take alot of things for granted that people have died for but Luda meant well by his. Like I said before if Luda sold out WE ALL HAVE SOLD OUT.

Wow blackimprovementmyass
You couldn't have possibly read the blog before yours because your hatred is so far off, that the same people you criticize (Black Truth or Hammertime) you come off ten times worse. ONLY ASS-BACKWARDS NIGGAS who THINK LIKE YOU possess such poisonous mindsets. And all Southerners are dumb as hell???? Am I Being Punk'd no better yet Am I being Nigger'd?????? Half of the inventions before you come from SOUTHERN slaves trying to make work less laborful. Don't turn your back on your history my child because like it or not the SOUTH involves you too. You can ride transportation stress-free due to a "Bama" named Rosa Parks (born in Tuskegee, Al) You can pick the schools of your choice due to a COUNTRY GRAMMAR talking girl in Kansas named Linda Brown (Brown vs. Board of Education). You can sit at a restaurant, walk down a street, pump a tank of gas, or speak your opinion against Whites without being harassed or killed LEGALLY due to some PORCH-WARMING protestors who participated in the Civil RIghts Movement from the Bus Boycott in Montgomery Alabama to the Burnings of Mississippi to the Sit-Ins around the U.S. to Bloody Sunday in Selma Alabama to the March our Southern men and women before us made to WASHINGTON headed by Martin Luther King Jr. Damn IGNORANCE IS BLISS!!!!!!You have to be DUMB AS HELL to think corners only exsists in New York. Whether you are on the block, at the trap, on the porch, in the city, in the country,or on the CORNER **chuckles** A SORRY ASS NIGGA IS A SORRY ASS NIGGA. And you're right I love my black people but A DUMB UNEDUCATED SELF-DESTRUCTABLE LIL ASS NIGGA (like yourself) I can't stand.

Regardless of the comments here, one thing is true. The Confederate Battle Flag will always be here. "ludicrous'- absurd, ridiculous, laughable, preposterous, asinine, foolish.
This is a perfect description of that character and the whole so-called "hip hop" scene and the so-called "music".
You people need to get a grip on reality. All of your hate-mongering will never defeat the honour and integrity of the Confederate Battle Flag. Demeaning it only demeans yourselves. Because y'all stoop to base behavior the
