Goodie Mob can make a comeback. Hopefully they get all that shit straight. Bring some real music back and knock all this fruity loop laffy taffy shit out. I would really love to see someone from Organized Noize be the A-town representer, besides lame ass JD or Luda. Not dissin Luda, but he ain 't a town like O gan Kno

"Everyday somebody gets killed, whats da deal, its 1995 and a nigga wanna live."
That is actually from "I didnt ask to come" off of Soul Food, not from "Still Standing" off of Still Standing. Perhaps you mean, "Leaving the cut in a rage. Loading up my mack; going to my crib to get my 12 guage." Or from Cee-lo's verse, "each and every element that exists in this; universe is manifested from a thought first."
Anyway I will give you a more accurate ranking of Goodie albums, in my opinion.
Still Standing: Great message and a greater variety of sound, plus the greatest first song on any Dungeon Family Album ever. Almost every song on this album was different than the others and Cee-lo showed why he is one of the games best.
Soul Food: Great collection of osngs, great first album. Showed a level of maturity that they deviated from on later albums. Not as good as Still Standing because of the fact that it didnt have as much of a sound variety.
World Party. It was their attempt to go pop, and that is what it was. It was still good because goodie is good, but it is not what folk expected from Goodie. Again Cee-lo shines but unfortunately T-Mo sounds way out of place continously boasting about being a ladies man and a superstar. Still had osme good songs though like, get rich to this, the dip, I C U, rebuilding.
One Monkey: Goodie without all four members just aint Goodie. Much further form being a Goodie album than even World Party. Kurupt stole the show on their only real single, and not much else worthy of noting here.
Now as for whether or not they can make a comeback, of course they can. they never went platinum, so they dont even have to reach that status to be successful. A great gold album would be a successful comeback. Now Cee-lo's solo albums have been great and we sww how bad marketing can ruin anything. So the real question is will Big Boi promote this album to the point where they can finally get that platinum status they deserve. I dont know because the only thing we have seen from Big Boi s far was Killer Mike's first album being great and being under promoted. But we will see. I dont even care if they sell alot, just give the game what it has been meaning.
As for JD, shut the fuck up. Just because you do bubble gum pop shyt while exploiting little kids dont get too full of yourself. Kanye West showed that when a company backs an act that has substance behind it then it will lead to success.

I recall,
Never graduating at all,
sometimes I feel like such a disappointment to yall,
everyday I just hang around and I can't be found they always ask if it's fun living life as bum!!!!!
Times is rough, my auntie got enough problems of her own nigga you supposed to be grown!!!!!
I agree I gotta be the man I sposed to be, but negativaty is all you seem to ever see, I admit I've done some dumb shit and I'm probably gon do some mo, you should'nt hold that against me though, why not? my music is all that I got, but some time must be invested for this to be manifested,
-----"I know you know but I'mo say this to you I, Get hi but I dont get too hi, so what's the limit sposed to be, that must be why you can't yo ass up out the bed before 3, you need get up, get out, cut that bullshit out, aint you sick and tired for having to with out?, Man what's up with all these questions?, you act as if you know something I dont, do you have any suggestions?, cause every job I get is cruel and demeaning, sick of taking trash out and toilet bowl cleaning, but I'm also sick and tired of strugglin',I never ever thougt I'd have to resort to drug smugglin',Naw that aint what I'm about, Cee-lo is gon continue travelling this route, without a doubt, or fear, I know the lord has brought this far, but he can drop me off here I hope I made myself clear.
Cee Lo----git up, get out and get something w/ OUTKAST
This song , especially this verse changed my life and put shit perspective for me. I learned to do that shit in moderation and made sure if I was smoking, My business was handled. I was a Sophmore at GA SOuthern University. I used to walk around campus hi as hell and stanking of weed but I graduated on Time and got recruited by some very good companies. I'm still working and still smoking. The people that I work with could probably never guess it.
Them niggas is more than what's on the surface and I love them niggas for that shit. Thier music was some inspirational shit and I attribute alot of that shit to Cee-lo. He is the secret weapon. Gipp got flow too though and if you aint listening some shit will pass over your head.
Man I hope them niggas can comeback and make an impact. These lil' niggas need learn about that One Million Niggas Inside( live at the O.M.N.I.) or that "thought process" I will like to personally thank the Goodie MOB for inspiring me to stop smoking before classes.
Remember GoodieMOB stands for = The GOOD Die Mostly Over Bullshit!!!!!!!!!!
Posted by: RealSouthSmoka at November 8, 2005 12:07 AM
Most of that shit Terrell give props to is bullshit. But I'll give you this one. Goodie M.O.B. are legends. Fuck what anyone else says. Sure, they'll never go platinum because they don't play in the minstrel show. They won't be on 106 and Park because they don't make bubble gum music for dummies. But every real nigga with a struggle in their life will jam they shit. That's 4 Real.
Posted by: chevy g. hustle at November 8, 2005 01:39 AM
The MOB can make a comeback...they sound better collectively rather than individually anyways!!! The DF need to take 2006 over and show kats what "REAL" southern music is!! Its funny cause when the south WAS putting out quality music, they were saying it was trash and now that this bullshit thats out now is selling, all that shit they were saying was trash is all of a sudden gold!!!
What the hell happened to the Witchdoctor?

Legends to the fullest...their first 2 albums blow most if not all the new shit out the water. They got more quotables than the source. Fuck all this wanna be hard ass shit out now....these men preached that real black struggle, the kind that most of these hard core ganstas usually shy away from. I dont expect big record sales with this group, but then again, I never did....this group aint for mainstream america, but at the same time, its excactly what america needs...the truth

last week.. i put up a post.. regarding us... i just wanted to know if the people in the "A", would stand with us.. the members of the group read SOHH.com daily, and its good to see we can atleast still get a buzz... we are working with a couple of label in talks, big boi and us have talked but no real contract has been drawn up.. so we are still looking for other outlets.... this is T-Mo Goodie.. Have you ever heard of the old proverb It's better to let people assume you are IGNORANT AS HELL than to open your mouth and remove all doubt.Yeah I did add a little twist anyway I comment on blogs every now and then. My name is either wtf.... or RUSERIOUS. So when I'm commenting on stupidity I use "Are You Serious" and when a dumb ass like yourself say shit and remove all doubt I definitely use WHAT THE FUCK CAUSE YOU CAN'T BE SERIOUS!!!! If you don't remember, you and I have had this argument before. I didn't see how sometimin and shady your ass was so I gave you the benefit of the doubt and used "ruserious" (silly me). You explained how much you love lyricism and traveled the world but you still displayed how SIMPLE minded and SLOW you are by spewing hate for others in different regions instead of "using your insight and experience to educate youth about how diversity is what makes Hip Hop beautiful." I explained to you that if you were such a fan of lyricism it should show through your blogs and the words you choose to use because as a 34 year old male you have the vocabulary of a 7th grader. And I was pretty sure you held basic conversations also. And you know good and damn well that I'm an educated WOMAN so I have no need to be a internet homo thug cause yes I do love my men.
You are right though. You did talk about how you liked Field Mob and shouted out Bun B and yeah you are commenting on this blog. This isn't the first time you went back and forth on your word LET'S GET THAT STRAIGHT ON THE RECORD. So when I did read your comments on those blogs I was CONFUSED. Because one minute you spew pure venom and another you're like oh yeah I love the South man blah blah blah. I just didn't comment on it because I was like ok this nigga is soft as hell he can't even make up his mind. Damn that is definitely one characteristic in a man I do not like at all. YOUR WORD IS YOUR BALLS baby so stick to it.
Moral of this story: If you broke bread with Jesus I wouldn't give a fuck so explaining all the ol school places you've been doesn't show that wisdom is one of your stronger traits. It shows that you have "seen everything in 49 states" and still haven't mastered the skill of learning through your experiences. Stick to the script. YOU ARE A SOMETIMING ASS NIGGA bottom line, hands down, light it, hit it, hold it, pass it, whatever. I don't give a damn if you sipped wine with the Pope. You are sometimin. As a 40 year old man you should be ashamed of your damn self.
Like I said before you have no level to get on. And arguing with you is like arguing with a brick wall. Just remember the only person you convince is yourself because pure ignorance and conscientious stupidity comes out your mouth.

Listen, off top, I'm from L.A. and Goodie spoke and still does speak to me in a way that most artists don't take the time to and that's from the head to the heart. They first album describes they sound perfectly, SOUL FOOD. Man when them cats first dropped in '94, I was 13, me and my homie was feeling that shit so much, becuase those dudes didn't look or sound like anyone else. Then they spoke to you on another level. Black Awareness, Self-Awareness and Respect. Thought Process is still one of my favorite songs, period to this day. Their music saved and changed my life.
And I feel what dude was sayin in his post about the south and music of substance, that shit was poppin outta A-town for years and no one took notice of Goodie Mob, Outkast or DF as a whole, when they was some of the only kats puttin out quality music as whole in Hip-hop. Plus they run the spectrum, you want brain-food, they got that, pimperish joints, got it, head nodders, every damn track man. Goodie MOB and DF is needed in a strong way man. I don't know if any y'all out there got a copy of that Got Purp Vol.2, that shit is off the chain. There's a song on there by the entire Goodie MOB called Hold On that was suppose to be on Soul Food. I ain't gone lie I got me a bootleg copy and please believe that when that thing hits shelves, I'm on it.
Can I please get a Big Rube interlude?
Man for coversation starters. I'm ranking my top five Goodie MOB songs, feel free to dispute:
1)Thought Process
2)Beautiful Skin
3)Distant Wilderness
4)Fighting
5)Still Standing

He said what he had to say and was through with it. Why the hell do you keep posting over and over about how hard you are and if you don't know now you know and the Bronx is the hardest hood ever like a hmmmmm what's the word INTERNET THUG. And you're 40 in my book. It's downhill from 35. But do ya thing up there just don't change on me like that. Keep doing what you do best HATIN!!!!

Man u know u could easily list 10 southern rappers w/ sick flows , but u don't want to. NY niggaz got a fuckin God complex when it comes to hip-hop and that's why much ain't much noise being made from there right now, except for Dip-Set. This is strictly to bxconnect. Yo fam I ain't from the South or the East. I'm from the Midwest. Gary, IN to be specific (Miller's Finest). I say that before I make my point so that you know what I am about to say is not a biased opinion. Rather it is just the straight up truth from an up and coming hooper/emcee that loves hip-hop with a passion. This does not mean that I wrote the book on this shit and everybody else is wrong, which is what a lot of ya'll new yorkers (that's not a diss towards you or your city either)tend to act like.
On some real shit I'm not tryna disrespect you or question the credibilty of the places you've been or the people you've met. As far as that goes, their's really no telling on if you're lying or being honest. But I give you the benifit of the doubt since I don't know you for myself and it would be unfair for me to not know you and just assume that you're lying. With that said I just want to reply to your comments about there not being even ten dope lyricists in the South.
No offense dawg, but are you out of your fuckin mind? Now granted, the South has produce hella garbage ass niggas and in a mass amount. But you tell me what side, coast, region or whatever you wanna call it hasn't. For every truly dope ass MC that doesn't have to rely nothin but pure skillz, passion, and love for the art, there are ten to fifteen garbage ass niggas and niggarets that are about to get signed by some A&R for a major ass record lable that don't really know a damn thing about this culture of ours. They'll get behind these garbage ass acts and give them all the push and marketing they need. Then before you know it,these sorry ass artists will be all over MTV, BET, and the radio. That's not say that every rapper with a plaque is weak. But the majority of them are.
It's one thing to say that a lot of niggas from the South are garbage. But when you make a statement like what you said about not being ten good lyricists in the South not only are you disregarding the impact that they've had on hip-hop. But you're also spittin on them and saying "FUCK YOU." And that's just straight disrespectful yo. Not only are there ten talented as niggas that I can name from the South. But I can take it a step further and name twenty right now. But before I do, I want to make two more final points.
First of all I can't believe that you don't got no more respect for 8Ball than that. Even if you're not a fan of his like that, you don't question that mans place in this game. I mean I'm not an Eminem fan like that at all. And if you ask me I feel as though either he's slightly overrated or it's hella niggas that's crazy underrated. But there is no denying that the man has talent and should be in the top 25. Besides the matter of respect, 8ball can just go hard on the mic point blank, period.
Lastly, I think you need to realize that ain't every nigga that grabs a mic and says he's from NY is on point either. Of course ya'll got the well known niggas like Nas, Jay, Big, KRS, Rakim, and LL to name a few. But ya'll also have some of the most slept on MCs ever as well like AZ, Talib, Mos Def, Big L, Organized Konfusion, Jada, and Camp-Lo. For those names and plenty more, I got mad respect for ya'll. However, ya'll have also given us 50 Cent, Tony Yayo, Loyd Banks, Mobb Deep (They had one NEAR classic album followed by a pretty good album. Everything else has been garbage.), Cam'Ron, Jim Jonez, and the whole Dip-Set Crew, Drag-On, and far too many more to name. Besisdes that all of the niggas that I named previosly to 50 are nice and lends in there own right. But lets not forget that the greatest MC ever was a West Coast representative and died on September 13, 1996 not March 9, 1997. That's real talk. On that note I'm out. But here are just some of the dope ass niggas the South got:
1.Scarface/Geto Boys
2.Outkast
3. T.I.
4.Goodie Mob(and yes they can and will make a comeback)
5.8ball & MJG(stop sleepin bx)
6.Juvenile
7.Lil Wayne
8. B.G.
9.Little Brother
10.Bun B/ UGK (Free Pimp C)
11.Lil'Flip(I guess t.a. and mylist are afraid of catchin backlash for this selection. Well I'm not).
12.Paul Wall (Ditto)
13.Mike Jones (Double Ditto)
14.The Clipse (Hurry up with "Hell Hath No Fury")
15.Ludacris
16.Dirty
17.Nappy Roots
18.Trina
19.Tela
20.Killer Mike

and last all my niggas from my hood nd my city got those experiences.now if i said i was on a private jet with jigga sypin cris thats some bullshit.

Posted by: bxconnect at November 10, 2005 09:01 PM
I'm sorry j but I got to be with BX on that one. I was with you until I saw Mike Jones, Lil Flip was dope back in the day BX if you listen to his mixtapes about ten years ago. Trina um no. I definitely think Diamond from Crime Mob would murda her. She doesn't know how to ride a beat. Paul Wall I like him because he's a cool ass white guy and a ok rapper but he is not what I would consider top 10. And Dirty yes, due to the fact that I use to live in the Gump Dirty are definitely good artists BX. How many of their albums do you have to make that call. And I have family in Kentucky which is considered the SOUTH BX so what was that about. Give props when props are due. Overall J.nich you had a good list though.
Posted by: mylist at November 10, 2005 10:15 PM
This is in response to both bxconnection and mylist, first starting with bx. As far as Trina's last album being garbage, I'll give you that. But she's back on point with "The Glamorist Life." I never said she was an MC Lyte or Lauryn Hill. But the girl is in the top 5 for females at this moment. Now as far as 8ball's last album being wack goes, you can just kill that noize. Because that's a damn lie. Unless you're talking about his last solo album and not "Livin Legends." In which case that's still a lie.
As far as Lil'Flip Mike Jones and Paul Wall go, I'll put it like this. In order to truly say love hip-hop as a whole, you have to be open to a variety of styles, types of flows, and deliveries. If everybody rapped like Pac then his legacy would be non existent. If everbody rapped lig BIG, then we wouldn't always love Big Poppa because we could go find another one. Ain't every talented MC gonna be the Nas, Rakim, or Ghostface type that you have to go back and rewind they're verse to understand what they are saying.
I mean let's keep it all the way real. You did not have to keep a dictionary on you when you were listening RUN-DMC. As a matter of fact, their lyrics weren't no more complex then Lil'Flip's, Paul Wall's, or even Mike Jones. But that doesn't mean that they weren't some of the greatest and most influential MCs ever nor that their albums and lyrics weren't masterpieces (R.I.P Jay). There's different types of lyricism.
So of course you can't compare Lil'Flip and Paul Wall to a Nas or Busta Rhymes. Mike Jones ain't the cat that's spittin in New York cipher. And Dirty is not gonna put you in the minframe of a BlackStar. But all 4 of them got some hot ass albums. Except 4 "U Gotta Feel Me," that shit was wack. I'm talkin about "The Leprachun" and "Underground Lengend" Flip.
Now as for Nappy Roots, they act so Southern, I tend to forget that they from Kentucky. But you can replace them with David Banner (The South's Kanye). And Tela is to the South what AZ is to ya'll. You should know what it's like to see one of your own not get his just due. So on that alone you should be showing Tela more respect than that.
Finally I must make you upset with me and let you know that Big Pop ain't even the best MC in NY's history. Your best bet for arguing that Pac's not the greatest is Nasir Jones. And even then it still ain't no comparison. But it's all love fam.
Now as for mylist. It's all love with you to fam. BUt the same things I wrote bx about Mike Jones and Paul Wall applies to you too. Diamond wouldn't last a single round with Trina. And I own "The Pimp and Da Gangsta" and "Hood Stories". 1 Luv ya'll

WHY ALL THE HATE ON REGIONS. GOOD MUSIC IS GOOD MUSIC. THAT BEING SAID THERE IS A LOT OF CRAP MUSIC COMING OUT OF THE SOUTH RIGHT NOW (LAFFY TAFFY?). LYRICS ARE DEFINATLY MISSING FROM THE GAME PERIOD. AND ALL YOU SOUTHERNERS WHO I SEE ON HERE ALL THE TIME DISSING N.Y. SHUT YOUR MOUTH AND PAY THE MOTHER THAT GAVE YOU BIRTH SOME RESPECT. THIS SHIT IS UNIVERSAL NOW SO SHUT THE FUCK UP W/THAT. OH AND BY THE WAY IM NOT FROM N.Y. IM FROM BOSTON. LAW-TOWN. SO DONT GET IT TWISTED.

Posted by: t.a. at November 11, 2005 10:39 AM
yo sha, we aint dissin' ny.we dissin' dat nigga bx. folk down south got mad love for ny. all we sayin' is that the world does not revolve around just ny anymore. back in the day...yes that was the case, but hip hop is a form of expression and it has spread not just through the u.s. but the world, so show respect to good music and stop the hatin'. i share your same sentiments that good music is good music. read my earlier posts.
as for laffy taffy, yeah that song is wack when you at the crib or in yo whip, but if you in the strip club and bithces are shakin' that ass you will feel different. laffy is a strip club song...period nothing more. it is not them niggas D4L's fault that shit spread like wildfire. they dont just get spins in the south obviously since you heard it and hate it so much.
lastly, i'm not sure if your comments are out of disrespect, but regardless you can chill with all of that shut up shit. we ain't never showed disrepect to ny cuz(i know you from beantown), we would never dis a whole region like a lot of niggas up top do. we just checkin' that ho bx.
Posted by: Just_Ice at November 11, 2005 12:48 PM
Yo Just Ice, I feel you on standing up for your region. But there is absolutely no justification that you can have for that bullshit Laffy Taffy song. Believe me when I say that I am a Midwest nigga until the end of time. But what you're doing would be like me tryin to convince the world that Chingy tight.
I don't do the stip clubs because it just ain't my style. However, I can promise you that if I was on it like that. Their ain't a female fine enough for me to wanna sit through that shit playin in the background. Just because that shit is made for the stip clubs does not mean it can't be tight and innovative.
If you want real stripclub anthems as well as classics, then you need to look no further than T.I. (Get Loose), Nelly (Tip Drill), Ludacris (P-Poppin), and of course the greatest of all time (How Do You Want It, Toss It Up).
Posted by: J.Nich at November 11, 2005 01:35 PM
J.Nich, straight up, you will never catch me listening to any of your so-called "strip club anthems" at the crib or in my ride because i do not like those songs anywhere but in the club or whatever. yo you have to be able to adapt to your enviroment. when i am at the club or with my shorty i am going to vibe off of what they like pimpin'...you feel me? and yeah you have never been to a strip club because that aint your thang, well it aint my thang either, but if me and the crew is hangin' out or whatever and we having fun all night it aint no telling where we may end up. i guess what i am saying is that i can tolerate certain music if my enviroment calls for it. i been doing this hip hop for a lng time and one thing i have learned is that what girls like and what guys like is totally different and i am not that inflexible. i can groove off those type of songs because they can be fun. everybody aint trying to be so lyrical and deep all the time yall espicially the lady folks. you have to learn to switch and adapt.do you wear Bapes and Evisu's to the prom...hell no! in the whip on the way to the club it is Wu, Nas ,Outkast, Goodie,Pac and the like but if i'm tryin to spit at a shorty and she wants to dance and shake her laffy taffy i will be right there behind her enjoying every moment.
Lastly, tip drill, get loose , p-poppin' classics? nigga please! you need a lesson on what real hip hop is if you consider those strip club/party joints classics!
Posted by: Just_Ice at November 11, 2005 02:55 PM
goodie need to come back they are tight together they all got something to spit.
westcoast bitches....holla
Posted by: bigphill89 at November 11, 2005 03:16 PM
Just Ice it is obvious to me that you're not comprehending what I wrote correctly. I'm not tryin to be sarcstic either when I say that. But I think you're taking what I wrote the wrong way. First of all, I ain't knocking you or your crew for going to strip joints, parties, the clubs or where ever ya'll go. Those spots just ain't my thing dawg. That don't make me no better than you or vise verca.
Now I'm not that inflexible either. But I'm gonna draw a line somewhere. And that line would certainly be drawn with some bullshit like Laffy Taffy. I don't give a damn if every girl in the spot get up to it. That don't mean I gotta vibe off that corny shit.
Now I will give you this. When I used to go to parties when I was in high school, I danced to a lot of bull shit as long as the girl I was dancing with was fine. However as I got older (and not that I'm some old nigga like that), I realized that if the shit is wack than it's wack. And I'm not about to endorse wack shit by dancin to it. Now everything made for the club "environment" as you call it is not garbage. But Laffy Taffy is just oozing with wackness. Now as for your statement about everything not needing to be so lyrical, if you would of read my blog I sent to bx and mylist earlier this morning then you'd know that you and I are on the same page with that subject.
Now I just want to say shame on you. How can you coming from the South try and justify Laffy Taffy but then when talented artists form the South such as T.I. and the some times on point Ludacris make "classic stip club anthems," you got the nerve to diss they shit. Don't you ever question my knowledge in "real" hip-hop doing some shit like that. And the same applies with you hatin on Nelly as well.
Before I wrap up this reply let me make it very clear to you that I didn't call neither Nelly, T.I., or Ludacris's joints hip-hip classics. I simply said that they are classic stripclub/party anthems. There is a huge difference and you need to learn how to differentiate the two. Finally I just want to compliment you on least being smart enough to not dare question whether "How Do You Want It" and "Toss It Up" are not just stripclub/party classics, but hip-hop masterpeices as well.
Posted by: J.Nich at November 11, 2005 03:56 PM
Man Fuck a Laffy Taffy, but thank God for strip club anthems. Yo I live in L.A. and bitches use strip to some straight bullshit b4 niggaz came correct with talior made strip club joints, that shit is perfect.
Back to Southern Lyricists though, J.nich, yo list was pretty on point, minus Trina, Juve, Lil' Flip, Paul Wall & Mike Jones & what's up nobody got love for T Double D Trick Daddy. Man Trina dog, Trina?. Juve's good but not top shelf. I ain't gone lie, I don't fuck w/Flip, I use to listen to some of his shit back in the day, the Leprechaun & SUC shit, but he ain't nice. Paul & Mike them boys got style and flow for days, but they ain't lyricists like that. But man and I was beginning to think I was the only one that remembered some Tela. But u were on point with ur list, u unlike other ignorant ass niggas, do your homework.
As for BX, damn homie you a hater. i can't say much more, but it's funny that u said Kurupt, 'cause that nigga has and would eat up NY as whole if u let him, and if u as up on game as u claim to be then I'm sure u know bout the Tunnel in '95, "...the night i ate 3000 MC's..."
West West Y'all

Posted by: I_smoke_I_drank at November 11, 2005 05:56 PM
J.Nich first off i aint cosigning laffy taffy at all and i damn sho aint tryin to make you like it i could care less. all i am saying is that their are songs out there that are not mad cerebral that i know you vibe to no matter how much you say that you dont party or if you were dancing you would sit down and leave the girl you with just standing. if that is how you roll that's cool but it is just a little hard to believe. laffy taffy is suppose to make girls get up and dance and the last time i checked any guy who is out tryin' to holla could care less how real a hip hop song it is at that time. it is just human nature male female attraction plus a little alcohol. you dont even have to be in the club. you can be in your car with your girl and she likes a particular record...what you gonna do make her change the station or else. if that is the case dawg, don't be so serious it is only music. i dont know it may just be me. back in the day i would rock to PE and KRS but i would not leave the dance floor when a Luke record came on...are you serious!
in closing, i never said that i did not like T.I. or Luda. that does not mean that i like every song that they put on a cd. Urban Legend is a very good cd so was Trap Muzik, but i still don't like every song on the disc. as far as Nelly, i have never bought any of his music, which is what i call endorsing, but i still vibe to his music especially when the girls are up dancing to it or if my girl wants me to turn it up in the whip. plus i got mad respect for the nigga, he put the midwest on the map in a major way. and you were right about the Pac joints you put up there they are classics, strip club or wherever.i guess what i am saying is that i love that real hip hop shit but GIRLS do not.if a girl likes a corny song i can deal with it for three minutes if she likes it. think about it, all the songs from the south that you say are wack are made for the ladies to dance to. hell, Nelly built his whole career off of that concept because you can not name one real hip hop record that he has spinning on the radio. One

To Lowedwn, much respect to you partna. You seem to be on top of your shit (especially with Tela). Except for the fact that there is no way in the world that you can honestly knock the South's Lil' Kim and then bring up Trick Daddy? Like Mya says on Girlfriends, "Aw hhhheeeellllll naw." It's all good though.
As for Just Ice, much respect to you too dawg. Your points are well taken. However, I just wanna correct you on a couple of things. I'm glad to see you give "The Pride of The Midwest" his props. But he did not put us on the map. Bone Thugs-N-Harmony did that back in 1994 with "Creepin' On Ah Come Up." "Thuggish Ruggish Bone" is still one of the 25 greatest hip-hop songs ever. I don't give a fuck what no one has to say about that.
Now what Nelly did do was give us mouth to mouth resuscitation when we were in a major dry spot. And I would call him the Midwest T.I. in the since that he's the current king of our region (no disrespect to Kanye). Now you're absolutly right about Nelly's songs on the radio not being "real talk" (I don't think I would go so far to say it's not real hip-hop). But like Jay said on The Blueprint 2's "The Bounce:" "No dummy that's the shit I'm sprinkling/the album with to keep the register ringin." Nelly got that real talk too. But that shit is on his albums and not the radio. So if you get the chance, check out the nigga's work man. You won't be disappointed, 1.

i feel ya J.Nich also you right about Bone they did put you on the map first and i will also agree with you that thuggish ruggish has its place in the history books i still remember the first time i saw that video...i was like, who is these niggas they street fo sho it just shines through kinda like the shook ones video by the MOBB.anyway i'm out peace. also make sure you cop that Little Brother Minstrel Show, Chitlin Circuit and The Listening. NC stand Up!

yeah Lowedwn i heard about korupt eatin niggas at the tunnel.but he didnt want to battle dres when dres stepped to him.not saying he wouldnt have ate him but he didnt want to battle him.i guess it was him showin dres respect.or maybe because he was battlin niggas that werent signed and just wanted to eaet them niggas and let them know he was serious with his.
justice i like little brother.9th wonder reminds me of pete rock a little bit.i cant front on them.i eally havent heard any other niggas from north click except petey.

Yo, bx i thought i told you that i would smack...just kiddin' cuz i can bury the hatchet, you know i'm out for peace not war but i am always ready and never scared!yo good lookin' on giving the home team props. i mean it's kinda hard not to if you a true hip hop lover. yeah he does have that Pete Rock feel to him you can surely hear the influence and that is what they rep too that 90's golden era rennaisance hip hop ish. as far as other quality groups reppin' the middle east they mostly on the underground ya know on the come up. Luda actually got a group comin' out from NC called North Click. i think he signed them maybe 6 months or so ago. anyway, be safe, one, holla!

goodie mobs first 2 albums are 2 of the best albums in hip hop history. my favorite is their first. but i really don't think they can ever make another perfect album like soul food. for one, they don't live in da same conditions they did back then. they were goin through the struggle on the first album and the album reflected that. and it connected wit people cause everyday people go through struggles.
sometimes i don't even know how i'm goin eat,
bout $20 away from being on da street,
might see a nigga on tv,
but hell it's almost like i'm rappin for free,
dat lil money be gone,
got damn it i'm grown,
gotta help keep da heat and da lights on,
yeah it would be nice to have mo,
but i kinda like being po,
at least i know what my friends here fo,
i wanna lie to you sometimes but i can't,
i wanna tell ya that it's all good but it ain't,
it's niggas hurtin' and uncertain about,
if they goin make it or not,
dats way we got niggas killin',
feelin like they comin up off a lil dope they sold,
you'll get some gold,
but we won't make it as a whole,
and without you there would be no me,
and without no unity,
there will neva be any happiness,
you can smoke a pound of sess,
and it still won't relieve yo stress god bless.

Ok. The point I think that bx is tryin' to make is that unlike most places in the south there isn't any culture. Just a bunch of cat boostin' shit then tryin' to grab a mike. No real luv there. No understanding. Most of them cats on them southern list is lame on their best day. Juvenile came out with huh garbage. No flow (huh). No skill (huh). Some have some done aight. I mean damn. How can you compare that shit to muthafukiz like Method Man. I mean Rakims flow on shit like 'I know you Soul' can't be fucked with. Period. The luove and the culture is comin ' at cha on the trax from those who are in it for the love. Not the glory. Grab ten of the best southern mcz lyrics and compare them to those are in to the chin in the culture. I mean Luda and some othiz have heart. So it isn't a blanket covering all mcz from the south. I am from Chicago. I am not from NYC. So I am not givin' this BX props. I see what that dawg iz sayin'
