hip hop movies like drumline, four brothers, and hustle and flow got decent enough reviews. from what i can tell, roll bounce is just a terrible movie.

first of all how good of a movie did they expect, with a rapper/actor playing the leading roll not to take away anything from bow wow(personally i like the dude)but its not like will smith is staring in the flick, then i could understand. all i'm saying is give the movie a break.(expect the worst hope for the best)

It seems like to me it's always your own kind trying to put you down.It's not like he's been doing this for years,like Will Smith.And personally Will can't act,but can only rap.Bow is a young man coming into his own.Give him a fucken break why don't you?Thats the reason white people are always talking about blacks,mainly because we bring our own people down when it comes to success.It's all a bunch of Bullshit!!!Off Top

And I guess Hustle in Flow,Four Brothers& drumline are good movies,because it's all black people doing drugs,prostitution,showing ignorance and ego trips and thats just how it is it's fucken up and white people are afraid of our kind but they see it all on T.v and it's reality.

Well... The movie did suck. I support black movies because we need more stuff out there. At least we are past the point where every movie involved NIGGA 2 million times and people getting shot up. I still think it's time for another jump in the quality of black cinema. I'm tired of music and dancing and those things... Let's get deeper and find out about other real black people. Not just what the media wants people to know about us...

I saw this movie its not worth bootlegging this shit is boring.I fell asleep on it. The only thing that was stopping me from leaving was because my stupid ass payed 8.60 lol im cheap. Anyways bow wow sucks at acting and RAPPING he needs to take his mothers advice and go to college.

Movies about hip-hop get no love? But I thought Bow Wow was in this movie. Oh wait you consider him hip-hop? That is bubble gum POP. And didn't Hustle and Flow get rave reviews? I hate the notion that we (Black people) should support any and every thing/person just becuase it's Black oriented. Sorry, but I have no desire to see this movie. It just doesn't look worth an $8 ticket, nor the $4.50 matinee. (Then again, what is now-a-days?) Never the less, I have standards on what I'll spend my little bit of disposible income on. Roll Bounce will not make the final cut.

Ouch. Oh well, we all know that there's a small percentage that rappers can really become actors. Maybe the main character role should had went to a strong seasoned actor instead of a rapper that still a pup. Bow Wow would made a good co-star but not the main star. Now unless it's your own movie, that's cool. But the 50 cent movie previews look promising, and this comes from someone that is not a 50 groupie. Maybe 50 can pull off some good reviews.

Well I haven't seen it yet... but from the previews it seem that the writer and director was consentrating to much on trying hard to funny and not letting the story itself develope and allowing funny shit to happen with each character in it's own situation.

I think that idea of the movie was great... I often think back on the funny shit I use to do back when I was younger.

Watching Bugs Bunny on Saturday mornings... or watching The Three Stoogies everyday after school... (sigh) those were the days!

All I do now is work and pay fuckin' bills!

Fist off... the movie dont look worth spendin money on... second... young black actors who wanna get into movies need to pick good roles not just anything that pays then ask everybody to support cause they're black... third... Quit sayin give that lil nigga a break... i dont care how young he is or wether he's just startin... i dont pay money to watch an actor practice his acting skills... ur supposed to b up on a certain level when u make movies... stick to makin guest appearences on sitcoms...

I thought Roll Bounce was solid. I checked it out because my boy Malcolm Lee directed it. I made a day of it and took my mama. It's corny, but it's really kind of a pre-teen movie.

The jokes were awful... I mean horrendous. Mike Epps and Charlie Murphy were the only comedic saving grace od the movie. But that's what I expected from something so Nickelodeon-flavored.

I was higly surprised by Bow Wow's acting. I think he may have a future there.

P.S.: I fucks with NY Times' assessment. Don't read the NY Post. It's right-wing propaganda bullshit in general. They wouldn't even use black INK if they didn't have to.

I agree with the concept that just because it's black that doesnt mean we have to support it. Placing race to the side, it all comes down to the art of acting, and story lines. I wouldnt go into this movie expecting award winning acting, to me its about the story line. I dont go see a lot of blk movies because of repetious story lines, were a diverse group of people and we need movies that reflect that. Everybodys not a damn clown.

Its 2005, no more back to the 70's, remakes! these cats aint been no where near the hood. lil bow wow, or Dallas Austin. The movie is based on Jellybean skating rink, near cascade in atlanta.that was a hood rink, because I used to go there and break dance when i was a kid(during the mid 80's). and I dont remember seeing
D.Austin or Bow Wow-wey at the rink. Lames!
