Luda Say It Aint So....

Last month Ludacris and Kanye West were sued for $10 million for alleged copyright infringement. They are charged with biting from New Jersey Group I.O.F's "It's Only Family" and then dropping Luda's "Stand Up" produced by Kanye. In addition, I.O.F possesses favorable reports from expert musicologists who support the validity of the accusation.

If this is true, I have lost all respect for these two artists. They have broken one of the biggest rules in the game.

It's one thing to to be the King of Samples (Kanye), but to take music creativity from a striving artist trying to make it is unforgivable. I.O.F trusted these two enough to put their demo in their hands and they violated that trust (if this allegation is true).

Think about it, this is all an unsigned artist has when they put their music out there to the bigger wigs, they can only pray that it is not stolen. If I can't trust you to deliberate on my demo without taking from me then what do I have left as an unsigned artist. How can I get my music out there. All I have left is selling from the trunk.

If this is true, I guess Kanye really is a Goldiggin ho'

This aint a NEW thing

Give out a BEAT CD and your music will be all over a MIXTAPE somewhere making it UNUSABLE & Unsellable

Give a DEMO to ANYONE at Universal and GUARANTEED if its hot, its GONE !

Thats teh importance of a manager or a lawyer. Without one. Its over for you when you let people hear your stuff

Cool J got me in 2000. Not him but whoever did his remix.

You remember when they used to remix a song 6 different ways for djs

IF ANYONE EVER STEALS MY MUSIC AND MAKES IT A BIG HIT. I WILL BE AT THE SHOW WITH A LOT OF QUESTIONS THAT I BETTER GET ANSWERS TO. THAT IS ABOUT AS LOW AS IT GETS. IF YOU CANT WRITE YOUR OWN SHIT THEN RETIRE. HAVING GHOSTWRITERS IS BULLSHIT HOW CAN YOU CALL YOURSELF AN ARTIST. THATS NOT CREATIVE THATS A SCRIPT.

I feel you. Yeah law can curb some of the shit but there's no way around it if they want to take bits and pieces. I think I have been gotten on a few occassions but they were so smart in cutting the corners that I had little basis. I hope it aint true but if it is make them cats pay so they will think twice about it in the future.

Yeh, this has been going on for years. It's said that one of the biggest biters or stealers of them all is J.D.(Jermaine Dupri). Proof is supposed be that that Bow Wow song, "Let Me Hold You" was stolen from some artist in Florida. The beat I think was the main thing stolen. Mainly the sample loop and everything else, but the beat(kick) pattern was edged up little. That's why I get all of my stuff copywritten and put "tagline coat" over my instrumentals.

Damn, I'm about to send out beat cd's this week! that's not hot. My shit is copywritten but damn, niggas will jack your shit anyway.

It ain't as bad as it seems. They had a song called straight up, and Luda made stand up. But from what I have heard, Luda ain't bite no lyrics, and the songs are not even similar.

It's done everyday, all the time.
Ask Jay-z
it's rumored he get put ya hands up from a DC go-go band. nd countless other songs from other cats.

it's a shame, but these dudes want to stay on top and will do anything to be there.

peace

ludacris bit pretty boy thug, for those in atlanta, you might know him, independent artist

he also bit 4ize, his "boy" from chicago that's in atl now too, if you get a chance to hear some of his stuff, you'll see the way he'll come out with similar shit right after 4ize, i think 4ize gives luda his new cd and says check this out and luda uses pieces and bits of 4ize hits

Posted by: gem dropper at August 18, 2005 09:36 AM

I Heard Luda & Field Mob bit that "Georgia" song too...

Posted by: Cal_Lee at August 18, 2005 10:56 AM

YAll know that these rappers and producers are always trying 2 do something new and different and what better way 2 come then 2 steal a niggas shit who they think will not blow or at least before they can bite the shit.. This is just how the industry is... Lil wayne is my dog but he stole GO DJ from some underground cats in the n.o.. David Banner took that song gangsta walk from a local nigga in memphis, then put 3-6mafia and 8balland mjg on the track.. I don't give my shit 2 none of these artists no more because if your shit is hot but you haven't been grinding 2 get it heard, your shit is good as gone..... That's how the game goes.....

The sad part is that you do not have the money or the A-List lawyers that they have to fight for your creativity.

A woman sware that OUtkast jacked "Mrs. Jackson" from them.

I feel like if someone is getting your music out there than its a blessin cause if u know u did it u should not mind someone to use it and for real everyone steals from everyone like that sh** or not if u got a problem with ithit ya gurl back so I can fix it

what???

Posted by: doctor scroggins at August 29, 2005 12:21 PM

All you wanna be producers that are posting and complaining. Be about your business and put in the foot work yourself. No one else is going to sell your music for you so you have to do it yourself. Take it up as a lesson learned.
