Yep! All the above is true, the show in general was sub par, it lacked organization. Friday night MC for the evening Doug E. Fresh was very longwinded(probably no fault of his own, because he was probably trying 2 stall) but he also seemed out of touch with current hits that are running the radio. He also seemed lost when introducing Lyfe & Amerie calling them "groups." All & all he was just boring & didn't mean any harm, I blame the promoters for that mainly, however HURRICANE HILL! Was off the hook!!! Not only in regards to the drama that has already been documented, but I had the pleasure of staying in the same hotel(Omni @ the Georgia Dome) I witnessed her & her entourages' madness firsthand. They cursed & fussed out everyone from the front desk clerks to the valet! And to top it all off, she even managed to alienate the incomperable Wyclef Jean!!!! Who was there in the ATL to be her suprise guest. He was obviously disgruntled @ breakfast Sat morning in the Omni, & of course didn't perform. But don't get it twisted, despite the rain & Hurricane(HIll) it wasn't all bad, Kanye West, John Legend, & Common Sense ripped shit!!!!!!! It was what one would come to expect from a labled named GOOD MUSIC!!!! Also TI & LUDACRIS ripped it they represented the ATL Swell. BIG BOI however seemed a little sensitive claiming that people were not hyped to see him because they were on dates.(he came out after ti,luda,&jeezy NUFF SAID!) And the hostess on sat, Free, seemed to be ran off the stage by Lil Scrappy, who was fighting for shine & jumped on the stage from the dj booth in the middle of a hair contest, & started to perform, his energy was appreciated even though Free never returned. Over all the vibe was cool, no fights, no drama(other than on the stage). I'll be back maybe for the 5th annual(get yo shit togetha!) PS: Where the hell was the Queen of HIPHOP SOUL?

Much like MJ's jury of his peers, as I sat cringing in the Georgia Dome, I diligently searched for the reasonable doubt behind Lauryn's concert crash. I've never seen her literally collapse on stage before. I don't know what was worse. The mushroom wig she kept unconsciously tugging at, the "Where's Waldo" clothes, or her blatant berating of the band. Reliable sources tell me that she received a tongue lashing backstage for being almost 2-hours late. She never once apologized or connected with the audience and someone from the crowd asked her a question or made a comment, probably about her attitude, and she quickly dismissed it. I wanted to just run on stage and give her a great big healing hug.

And yes! The Common, Legend, West trio ripped it in a royal way. I met Common and not only is he FOINE, but very grounded. I also met 112 and I've always liked them, but now I'm a big fan. It means a lot when you're the same cat no matter who you meet. I was looking for Miss Blige, but maybe Hill made her leave backstage, too.

The exposition was a huge disappointment to sponsors. There was a projected 60,000 people to attend, but they were lucky if 60 showed up. Understandably so, no one was going to pay for entry into the expo AND then pay again for the concert. That made no sense to me. Ever heard of a combo package? Ludacris! Oh yeah, he was hot!

Since this is Vibe's first, I'll give them a pass. Maybe, I, too, will come back when at least 90% of the kinks are out.

Ms. Hill was at her worst at the Vibe Music Fest. After great performances by TI, Big Boi(he still did is thing), Luda and Jeezy(who stole the show)Lauryn was the biggest disappointment ever. I've waited 9 yrs to see a strong, creative and soulful woman. What we fans received was a pompous,angry, smoked out hood rat from BK who should be ashamed of herself for treating the fans who got her where she is right now in such fashion. I will never support Lauryn 'Who I'm I?' Hill in life. Again, JEEZY did the damn thing though. Apart from TI, Jeezy had the crowd swaying. He reminded eryone why they were there which was to represent the 'A' and keep it super crunk.

No one is disputing that she's a great talent however when it comes down to selling her product, which is these concerts were speaking of, she's short changing a lot of her core fans and people. Yes, real fans care about her plight and troubles shhhhh we all have troubles but when it comes down to pulling yourself together as a professional and as an example she's falling short. What I saw at the Vibefest was digusting. Could you show up to work and just perform at a mediocre level and not receive negative feedback? Here is what I believe....Lauryn was placed in an environment in which she no longer belongs. That goes for any of us. You are at your best when you are in the right element. As "R" said earlier on she didn't perform like that in Aruba, Malaysia or at the Bob Marley Celebration. Everything isn't what it seems people. You have to step outside the box in order to overstand certain things.

Keep doing what your doing Lauryn! You have alot of fans out here that believe in you and look forward to more REAL performances like MTV Unplugged. That cd is on heavy rotation in my ride!

I don't know what's going on with Lauryn, but I will say that when I was going through a difficult time in my life, Lauryn's debut album carried me through. Her songs were inspirational and I could relate to the majority of the songs on the album, I'm not really a rap fan but the way she displays her vocal ability is great and I always knew we would be hearing more of Lauryn, but never in a million years stories like these.

Man, my people are so hard on each other, no wonder our position in society is slipping. What has she done to deserve such harsh words. If she has fallen, as we have on many occasion. Like myself, we paid our hard earn money (some of us) and if you were like me traveled two states just to see Ms. Hill put it down. I deserved a better show than that...not to mention I waited a hell of a long time to see her...cold feet, hungry, and just kinda restless, but please believe i wasn't leaving until I could sing along with whatever tunes she chose to render( that didn't happen they were almost like remixes...terrible).
Talk about mad when she didn't show remorse about being late, mad when she came out with that DAMN mushroom wig on, and mad that she sounded like she just finished yodaling (that aint the Boogie I'm use to listening too). Boy oh boy...messed my whole night up.

LOL...somebody made reference to Whitney Houston...and that's exactly who she was acting like!!!!

Nonetheless, I would definitely still go see her again and i do realize that everyone has bad days, weeks, months, and even years....unfortunately when u r an artist u can't have those days as often for risk of rendering 'SHITTY SHOWS' (reputation is big in the industry and word travels fast). If for some reason she couldn't give her best then the most appropriate thing would have been to cancel her part of the show, give Vibe their money back, and hope for a better day!!! Pray for her YALL!

I was there in Montreux Switzerland yesterday night...Igot only one word: AMAZING!!!!!
She's definitely back. and if that's true that the band did that only in two or three days then y'all better be careful coz it's gonna change the definition of music. the word Passion will definitely be back in it.
Her DJ is a known artist by himself, he goes by the name of Mista Sinista and reinvented "Turntablism" with the well known and respected "Xecutionners".
If you love music, don't miss any of her shows coz that's something you'll tell to your grand children (even if they don't care...!)

Ok, Lauryn might have some bad daays and perrofrmances and shit, But look at it like this, she is human and she does have shit on her mind like everyone else. Don't let a few bad things change your opinion of her. Because she does have an inevitable talent. Fuck it, many talens. I mean, she's a singer, mc, lyricist, producer, so on and so forth. I believe that Lauryn Hill has gone off the deep end. I don't know about all these performances because once I catch the news it's too late. Yo, i had the blessing to see her on July the 6th and she's was just AMAZING. So much grace, vibe man it was 2hours of soulfood. She even read a fan love letter to the crowd and was really in touch with the people. I can't understand why people talk trash like that about the ATL thing, we all know Lauryn is in a deep and special state of mind, and maybe she didnt behaved right (i wasn't there, so i can't judge) but what i saw from my eyes was that queen we feel usually in her songs and her presence just materielised it. She might have had lots things on her mind or i dont know. She might react cold and harsh maybe 'cause she's so deep and sensitive... and that's why she's so rich and special. Much love , peace

I loved Lauryn since Sister ACT 2. At that time, I didn't even know that it was Lauryn Hill that I loved. I just knew it was the girl that sang so wonderfully. I loved her with and without the Fugees. But when the MTV Unplugged Album came out, I did not like it; at first that was. Now here's the thing, Lauryn was talking about alot of realistic, mature spiritual things, that I or alot of people could not handle at that time. The only reason I am able to understand it now is because I am one of those lost victims, that have attended certain Churches only because it was SAID by PEOPLE that it was the right thing to do. Religion alone can have you confused. No one but the Creator knows the real truth. And what Lauryn did was go against everything that PEOPLE said, and have tried to find HER own RELATIONSHIP or CONNECTION with who SHE believes her CREATOR is. And even with relationships with people, I was always a people pleaser, being what people said I should be, or what they wanted me to be. That's the same thing that happened to Lauryn. I tell you all, that is tiresome enough. Yes we are all capable of being strong, but we are strong in some places and weak in others. I have been through SOME of the things that she has revealed to us. And I tell you, people are enough to drive you crazy. There was a time that I bought tickets to see her at the concert in Atlanta Georgia on Ocotber 30,2004. I had to fly out there to find out that on that very morning she cancelled her concert. I was mad. In my mind, being my human self, I said why did this have to happen. All my co-workers warned me that she would not show up, or that she would run off stage and start crying. But I went anyway. And if I had the opportunity to attend another one of her concerts, I would do it all over again. If we are going to love her, love her and let's not judge her. You'll never know trully what one has gone through until you've worn their shoes.
