SOHH Gyant Exclusive: Anthony Hamilton Inspired The Design For 2010 Ford Taurus, Leaves JD's So So Def For Jive?

Who new that neo soul singer-songwriter Anthony Hamilton's music would be the inspiration for Ford's newly remodeled Ford Taurus?

Last week Ford invited Gyant to come to their private Atlanta unveiling of the new vehicle, which is scheduled to hit car lots soon. And I couldn't believe the new interpretation.

For most, when you hear the Ford Taurus you automatically think "family sedan". It's odd aerodynamic shape never did anything for me personally, but it's clear that things are a changing.

Now before you start looking at your computer monitor all crazy thinking "Gyant's lost his damn mind," allow me to explain.
The new sleek, and contemporary design screams URBAN. And when I found out the history on how thew Taurus came to be -  I found myself really intrigued.
The 2010 Ford Taurus was designed by Ford designer Earl Lucas, and his team. A rarity in this automotive industry, Lucas is one of a small few of African-American designers that's been given the opportunity to show his skills. Looking at the new Ford Taurus, it would be virtually impossible for anyone to deny its hip-hop influence. And after talking with Lucas briefly, he'll be the first to admit it.

Apparently there's been quite a few upgrades from the struggling car company regarding some of their newer models. Earl told me that one of the newer F150 models was inspired by Atlanta legends Goodie Mob. And apparently Anthony Hamtilon's music was a direct inspiration for the new Taurus.

Though I don't have the exact quote, a diverse range of musical artists - including Alicia Keys, Kem, and Anthony Hamilton  - all influenced the design of the all-new 2010 Ford Taurus to achieve a fresh interpretation of the flagship sedan. "Music helps us visual people paint pictures in our head," said Mr. Lucas.

Though I didn't get a chance to test drive the vehicle to get a gage on its performance, If it rides anything like it looks then it's a winner.

Earl Lucas, who leads the design team of the 2010 Ford Taurus, has achieved an incredible feat. The new Taurus is innovative, modern and SOHH bad ass.

Somebody better call up Anthony H. and get his ass to call Ford. I smell an endorsement opportunity.

Shout out to Earl Lucas for doing his thing, and proving his value by taking one Ford's most unappealing cars and making it sexy.

Oh and Sidebar, did anybody know that Anthony is no longer with Jermaine Dupri's Atlanta label So So Def? I got word the other day when I was trying to get Hamilton's information.

I hear he's at Jive records now. What's going with that? Am I only one looking at JD crazy these days. Is it me or is he losing BAD?

I thought Ford discontinued the Taurus. But if they bringin it back like THAT then I'll take one with a hybrid engine! The old Tauruses were super-ugly like Dre and Knoc-turn'al!

Oh Shiiiiiiiiiiiitttttt..When I look at the pic of Anthony Hamilton above, why does that look like Ray J 20 years later....LMAO....

@Johnny ACE...What ever happened to Knoc-turnal's lame ass...His first hit was a banger only cause of Dre, then he fucked up when he put out one of the lamest songs and video's ever when he did tht collab w/Missy...I don't even remember how the song go, that it was so lame...I just rember the video cause dude wore like 100 outfits in that bitch...LMAO
