Sorry Hell Rell, looks like you won't be selling more than Gorilla Zoe

He sold 31,000! WTF is so big about that? Thats a flop in my book. I mean congrats on being the number one rap album but still. Thats not good at all. Im nto a G-Unit stand but all i remember is they sold over 100,000 i think first week and everyone shitted on them for flopping. You dont have to dick ride Gyant. I mean yeah give him his props but dotn go making it sound like he sold 500,000 out the gate or something.

LOL... I agree with stevenyayo. U put he was the number 1 hip-hop album in the country, but didn't put the actual numbers up. Stop the misleading Gyant, I know u rep the A, but 31,000... 31,000... Dog, u know that ain't a good look. Most rappers sell their highest week totals in the first week. So, he'll probably due 60% of that next week (and I'm giving him the benefit of the doubt). At this rate, will he even go gold??? Stop playin with the people. LOL!!!

Maybe he's saying 31,000 is good considering the amount of promotion he got. To be honest, I hadn't heard of this album other that Diddy posting it on twitter. They might be strong regional numbers. So relative to expectation, they might good, but i agree that for something that would be overhyped, this would be considered a flop.

this dude is trash! fuck the dumbshit! i bought a real hiphop album last- CNN! It was bad boy and atlantic spending 500,000 to pay for radio promotion and video airplay to sell those lousy 31,000 albums. wouldnt even waste my time with that bullshit! patiently waiting for that Fabolous and Jadakiss album. CNN's album was real hiphop too!!

Haven't heard Gorilla Zoe but I've heard about him a lot ON THE INTERNET. The amazing thing is how little hip hop websites have to do with the reality of what's going on in hip hop. For one, the primary consumers of rap music (teens) don't visit these sites for the most part. Ask any 17yr old about Sohh or Allhiphop and there's a good chance they won't know what you're talking about. I say that to say the lies and hype promoted on these sites fall on deaf ears anyway. The kids are all on social networking sites. How many Southern artists parlay their "popularity" into major endorsement deals? Ever wonder why? TI, Luda and Outkast I believe did OKAY but even their deals can't come close to the deals you see Diddy, Jay, and 50 do. The South run hip hop? Tell Madison Avenue that.

Gorilla Zoe and the rest of the Southern artists get to be #1 at time when the record sales of hip hop is dead. Hip Hop is still very much a force. Just not in the sales category. The Southern domination of hip hop, which I think is inaccurate to begin with is akin to Michael Jackson "gracing" the BET awards with his presence long after his hey day and while a pariah for child molestation. It's just not the same.
