January 2009 Archives

Grand Hustle is making big moves in 2009. On top of putting together a mean roster of artists like 8ball & MJG, Yung LA, Rico, B.O.B. and others they're now getting their new media together. Check out a new video from Yung LA showing of his Futuristic Swag.

Despite the fact that JD has lost his position at Def Jam, he's clearly not affected by the non shocking news.

But in a new "Living The Life" video, Jermaine, Johnta Austin and Usher all make appearances, and its at the 7:10 mark that's convinced me that I'm a trendsetter. Check out the video.

Luckie Food Lounge is always off the chain on Wednesday's but last night Block Ent's Gorilla Zoe's birthday bash had the spot almost poppin at the seams! As you read this, I'm probably still recuperating from all the bottle poppin.  So in the meantime, please enjoy a mini montage of Zoe's festivities below.

I got some hot mixtapes to put you all on to today. You're welcome..

And I was just thinking about this dude the other day. Maino is kicking the doors off the hinges with his new track "All The Above" with T-Pain.

Music Business Politics & Botchey & Zae are throwing Gorilla Zoe a birthday bash tonight at Luckie Lounge.

T.I. rocked the stage at Vegas' Jet Nightclub at The Mirage as part of the nightclub's "Locals 3 Year Anniversary" celebration.

I don't know why the industry is still on auto pilot when there's so much work to do. But Luckily for us, DJ Shakim don't be taking no breaks. Check out the SOHH Atlanta Mix.

I'm convinced that Keri Hilson is f*cking a Leprechaun because nobody is this lucky.

Nothing like an AK47 and some pistols to put a lil hair on your chest. Listen to Soulja Boy talk to Big Boy.

Can somebody in CTE/Def Jam please tell Young Jeezy to sit his ass down somewhere.

Shout out to DTP's Tity Boi. In ever growing mixtape world, here's another one to add to you collection.

Let's hope that in 2009 Interscope will focus their attention on Rock City's debut release. The guys are currently in the studio working their ass's off as they put the finishing touches on their new album "Wake The Neighbors". And though I have heard the first single, I don't think I'm at liberty to divulge any intel on it just yet.

This just in...

I had been hearing for a few days that Bob's new video was ready, but none of my contacts wanted to risk sending it my way, but alas I go it...kind of.

While I never got a check for my reality show idea, Y'all remember how last year I was the FIRST one to say that T.I. needed to do a reality show. Around this same time last year, T.I. was getting crazy media coverage over the illegal gun charges. I did a blog about it and even spoke to Tip's manager in passing about the idea. But, Jason insisted to me that Grand Hustle didn't get down like that. Hhmmmm so why does Tip have a reality show coming?

Fazzy Pha and Drumma Boy have teamed up for a new Peachtree TV reality show titled "Dreamland".

Charlamagne Tha God is making big moves in 2009. Check it out.

I don't mean to go in on JD, but why is he so quiet?

DJ Shakim's got some more music for us.

This is yet another blow to the rapidly declining music industry.

I wasn't going to say anything about this, but I just can't help it.

The South Crack homie Charlamagne Tha God is dropping some knowledge on what he feels is going to be gangsta in 2009. Will hudlims turn into scholars? Will President Elect Barack Obama change way America defines black men? Check out his take below.

The first exclusive of the year comes compliments from producer Street Symphony. He sent me over this track just moments ago.
