December 2008 Archives

Everybody has been hitting me asking me where's the best place to party on this New Years Eve. I hear the devil is having his annual all black affair, Colby Plush has something poppin off at Artistry. But Luckie Lounge is supposed to be OFF THE HOOK tonight.

Does today's music stand a chance without music video shows?

BET was on hand at this years HOT 97 bash. T.I., Young Jeezy and more were all in attendance. Check the info out below.

Oh Keri.....

Last week I ran a story on Plies and his brother Big Gates allegedly ducking and dodging the calls of some producers who worked on Plies' dismal new CD 'Da Realist' who were trying to collect payment Well, I have good news.

Yes, I was too lazy to crop Bryan Michael-Cox out of the picture...deal with it!

Shout out to all the club heads.

Shout out to all the club heads.
SOHH much for the fourth quarter of 2008.

I feel as though I am falling asleep as I write this, but guess who got quietly dropped from DTP?

I apologize for the NUMEROUS spelling and grammar errors that were in the original post. While we all know I'll be the first person to step up and admit that I'm no writer, today's errors was an oversight.

You have my apologies.

As we come to the close of yet another year, I couldn't help but notice that this year hasn't been the best for what's left of the struggling music industry. SOHH many artists have had their ego's handed to them by the consumers over straight up musical bombs. And I figured since there's always a list out of musical new comers who's almost always deemed to be the "new best thing", that I would compile a list of new comers who've been trying to sell their boringly packaged music.

Like always some of you all may not agree, but I'm pretty confident most of you will know that I am right on point. Check below to find out who made the list.

Gorilla Zoe's new video for "Lost" has finally hit the net. Check out Zoe's unique approach below.

Popular southern rapper Algernod Lanier Washington AKA Plies has just committed the ultimate sin; Thou shalt not f*ck with a nicca's money. With only days until the holiday, the hip-hop hobbit and his peoples could be trying to pull a fast one on some choice producers. Or at least that's what I'm being told. Check out all the details below.

Over the year I've collected so much footage and pictures that hasn't been used that I've decided to take the rest of the year to post the rest of it. I've had this footage from Asher Roth forever and after receiving numerous requests for me to put the footage up, I finally got around to editing a little bit of it for you to check out. This is definitely must see TV.

Well, well, well look who's doing a complete 180?

Y'all better be glad that I know friends in high places. I got a pretty good hook up for two BOB fans.
Cannon Kent from Atlantic Records hit me late Friday night inquiring if I'd like to come by the Warner Music Groups offices and have a chat with Musiq Soulchild. I jumped at the chance and decided to interview the reclusive singer on my new Mac Pro. Check out the interesting sit down below.

You know, I thought that Usher was having a temporary setback. I figured he'd get back in the studio, get humbled and come back to claim his spot as the worlds number one Pop star. That is until I heard Justin Timberlake and T.I.'s new collabo.

Tip's opening up about his Louis Vuitton diss regarding his new video.
Sunday night I had the pleasure of attending V103's most popular radio personality Frank Ski for his annual Celebrity Wine Tasting Affair. Unfortunately, this year I wasn't able to bring you all the spectacular footage I captured from last year fesitivities due to media crediential guidelines. However, all my Twitter friends were front and center for my blow by blow account of the affiar. Check out a few pics and all my twit messages through out the night on the 'Fake Housewives of ATL', my embarrassing run-in with CeCe Penniston and much more.

Warner Music Group/Reprise records new artist Attitude is getting some strong online buzz. The well-known industry MC recently sat down with Rolling Out TV to chop it up. He discusses his grind through the music industry as a rapper and an established multi-platinum writer. Attitude has worked and co-written with some of the most popular recording artists in the industry.

Dear Jazze, and I Say This With Luv....

Soulja Girl caught a lucky break from an Atlanta judge today. Check out the video below.

DJ Shakim's got some more music for us.
I got some new music from Sean Falyon. The rapper/fashion designer apparently is blessed the "Gift of Gab". Check out his new music below.

DJ Shakim has been on out on the road collecting them checks, but he's back. And he's picking right up where he left off. Check out the mix below.

The Hustle's have a new family member. Who would've guessed we see this?

I told you all yesterday about some foolishness that's going on over in the Aphilliates camp.

DJ Shakim has been on out on the road collecting them checks, but he's back. And he's picking right up where he left off. Check out the mix below.
Bad Boy South & Block ENT's artist Gorilla Zoe is about to drop a new mix-tape. The Atlanta homie is gearing up for a new album in the first quarter of 2009. I have some information on Zoe's new project below.

Though the holidays has everyone in the industry slowing down, Rock City continues to keep the it moving. The talented duo has just sent over a brand new webisode for the immensely popular viral video series "Rock City: My Life As An Artist". Check it out below.

Honorable Mention: Kia Shine Update!!

I ran into Kia Shine in the "A" recently. Y'alll remember that "So Krispy" bullsh*t? Well Kia tells me that he's moved on and is currently working on a new album under a whole new label.

As we stand on the dawn of a new year, I've decided to finally use all the footage and pics that never got a chance to make the blogs in 2008. Check out who made the blog today.
Shout out to Gorilla Zoe! The Block ENT artist is kicking off his New Year's resolution off a bit early.

Two lucky fans are going to be front and center for Ludacris' concert this weekend at the Tabernacle.

All my aspiring up and coming entertainers who's trying desperately to get placements with media need to come out to Patch Werk studios TOMORROW for an important  I dO Music panel.

Has hip-hop resorted to this? Sigh...

'

Plies rolled through ATL last night for a public and private listening session for his new album "Da Realist". Patchwerk Studios hosted the private listening session. Chaka Zulu, Princess, DTP Executives, Warner Music Artist Attitude, Orlando McGhee, Julia Beverly and others all came out to show their love for the pint sized MC. Don't ask me why I was there because I'm clearly not a fan. Anyway, I decided to do a live twitter from the event. Check out my twit messages below.

Tinybkhat

Early in the summer I did a post on Bodyguard/Producer Travis 'Tiny' Webb. After years of putting his life at risk to protect the likes of JD, Ne-Yo, Janet Jackson, Rich Harrison, etc. the seven-foot plus, 300lb plus, Bodyguard is a bangin' producer and is focusing his sights on banging beats, rather then knuckleheads. I got a chance to catch up with the incredibly engaging producer/musician at the legendary Patch Werk studio's. Check out sit down below.

V103 knows how to keep us all interested. Porsche Foxx has been fired, again.

Polow Da Don and his people from Zone 4 gave away free turkeys for Thanksgiving. Check out the pictures below.
