You know one of the best things about my job is my ability to truly have an influence on hip-hop culture, events and artists. While some of you are still unreceptive to the notion that bloggers, particularly SOHH Gyant, has some juice on the internet, that doesnt change the fact that its happening. I can big up or eff up your whole day with a few simple keystrokes. However, I often times use the SOHH platform to put you on to new music and artists who I feel are worthy. I'm on such a musical high with Akon's Rock City that I just got to put you on to their BET "Rap City" performance. Them dudes killed it on the mic. Check it out below.
With SOHH much bullsh*t in the game I find it my duty to celebrate and inform you all about good artists that I fux with. First I put you all on to Asher Roth who is doing phenomenal [more on him later on in the week]. And now he's on almost every hip-hop blog out there. People fux with Asher the same way I know people are going to fux with Rock City.
The songwriting duo stopped by BET's "Rap City" Friday to show you all how they get down. Don't get it twisted; just because these guys write hit pop music for other artists doesn't take away from the fact that these nuccas are hip-hop enthusiasts. Check out their creative style below.
Rock City is embarking on a nationwide tour with BET and our hip-hop competitor. If you're still skeptical on what these boyz can deliver then why don't you get ya ass out and take in a show. [Check Tour Dates Here]
But I'm telling you now, if you're not trying to hop on the Rock City bandwagon then I suggest you stay home because once you see these fellas live it's gonna be a wrap.<./p>
Talk to y'all lata,

These dudes aight yo. but they didn't freestyle in da booth. The other cat was sayin words that the one rappin was gonna say next, How you freestylin' & da other cat know exactly what you about to say next? They killed what they was doin though, but they didn't freestyle, so I dont think they was da shit.
I am thoroughly convinced that you SOHH cats are taking money from somewhere for your bias articles. Thats first of all, second the gimic-meter is off the charts for these Rock City cats, they basically biting Kidz In the Hall, The Cool Kids, etc. (who actually use boom bap style and flavor as a gimic) and throwing some Kanye fashion in there, and then you praise them? Asher Roth?, this cat took eminem's whole style. Back when hip hop was, that was called biting and was not rewarded as something original and fresh. Thats all I have for now. Probably will not be coming back to SOHH forever.

-Im not goint to comment on who sounds a little to hostile rite now and maybe talking nonsense. But im Rock City is aite i mean ive seen so much versatility from them so far and they are very talented. I dont know if im feeling them enough to buy a album but they definitely got somethin.
-and FYI: nobody freestyles in the booth anymore or at all
-Freestyle is so mid 80's-90's
damn you on these niggas nuts hard.
What!!! How in the hell can people hate on Rock City. If you don't like them, then either; you are a very late 90's-new millenium baby, don't like Hip-Hop at all, or just like to fuckin hate cause that's your job. Go on hater, do ya job then.
I can big up or eff up your whole day with a few simple keystrokes!
Fake power!
Power is in the pistol that whips you!

Where is the power in that?

*crickets*
Rcity is hot. ALthough it wasnt exactly FREE style, they still are hot.
It's pretty obvious that they weren't freestyling. Hey, but who does nowadays. You end up hearing the lyrics in another song that's on the album. But I'm not going to hate, this is the first time I really listened to these dudes, & they held they're own. It's something new & they don't talk about the same things the next rapper is talking about. Hope these guys keep up what they're doing.
