T.I. is going full force with his new album Paper Trail. From video shoots, to television appearances it looks like the self-proclaimed "King of the South" is striving to make sure EVERYBODY knows "he's not dead and he ain't done". But never in my wildest dreams/nightmares would I ever have thought that these two things would've happened.
Cliff hosted BET's Rap City recently and decided to hop in the booth with hip-hop's first openly gay [I mean c'mon...it is what it is] MC, Fonzworth Bentley for a freestyle.
As we all know, Rap City's freestyles are not freestyles at all, but I still give Fonzworth his props. I've always considered him to be a dope MC no matter how flamboyant he is. Don't hate you know the boy is nice!
But I got to admit that I would never have thought I would've seen these two in the same room on the same mic EVER!
And Speaking Of Things That I Thought I'd Never See....
Um...I'm going to need someone to pass along the memo to T.I. that the saggin' ya pants movement is over. I'm not sure if this is an old picture or not. But either way it's not the best look. Or is it?
Talk to y'all lata,

TI is a clown. This grown ass man stay trying to prove how tough he is. I'm sick of the cooning. Pull your pants up nigga. That homo erotic shit is not cool. Fonzworth is NOT hip hop... or is he? LOL!
I don't wanna see another nigga over 33 putting out new music. Hip Hop started as music made for kids by kids. If old niggas gonna rap it really need to be their classics if they have any from when they were young. It's disgusting watching thse old ass men dress and act like juveniles. Do you understand that both Malcolm and MLK were in their 30's when asassinated?
If hip hop was around they probably would have been on a reality show instead of doing real shit. Enough of this distraction! Time to man up and put childish shit to the side. If you're a feminine nigga who needs unnatural amounts of attention then go get professional help not a record deal. It's time for MANHOOD in the true sense to come back en vogue.
Remember when men were men and diamonds were a GIRL'S best friend? I do.
Some of the first rappers were in their 30s or close to it. They formed a large portion of the original DJs.
They provided balance and maturity and light-heartedness to rap music. Something that is basically gone.
Fonzworth Bentley is tha shit. Did i miss something? When did he announce that he was gay.
first thing first why would one nigga put a pic of another nigga dick swingin on his blog and two who the fuck ever said that nigga bentley had a flow that shit was horrible damn if thats what i got to listen to in the future im going to gibe up on hip hop
Is TI 30 yet? Dude looks young to me or he's just playing the role. Won't y'all start dissing him if he dresses in suit all the times? Call him a sellout for not being hood? He probably connects with the kids by dressing like them but hey, this is what the culture has come to. Take it or leave it.
Like I keep sayin' - it really amazes me that cats have this extreme hatred for anybody in their 30's rhymin. First of all - hip hop was not started by KIDS duke. Need to read up on your history. True, most popular music/cultures are youth movements - but there is no age limit to being part of the hip hop culture...some of the best MCs, b boys, writers, and DJs in the world are men/women in their 30's or older. Maybe we should say that LIL KIDS need to stay out of the game until they can get their weight up!!! Plus, a lot of hip hop FANS are in their 30's/40's and still love hip hop - can they really relate to a 17 year old rhymin' about stupid shit? Nah - they need someone thier own age speaking about grown folks stuff. Being in your 30's is NOT like being in your 80's man! LOL Cats actin like turnin' 35 is a death sentence. And what is with the hip hop community's hatred of any artist trying to be fly or fashion forward? That's the whole idea behind hip hop fashion. Back in the day, cats wore tight ass track shorts, straight leg creased Lee jeans, leather pants, etc. This overly baggy, saggy, 4 sizes too big shit is not the end all be all of hip hop fashion. Cats need to stop actin like sheep and get your own sense of style. How many fitted caps do you need? Real original homie. Real original.
what was he rapping about? He had 2 good lines, but that nigga is Spongebob Squarepants, nigga his swag is on a notha planet... Where dey do dat at? I dunno about that freestyle
LOL at people who are saying T.I. is over 33. T.I. was born on September 25, 1980 (Age: 27)
See, Fonzworth is a good dude...he tries his best to be respected by the hip hop community, he really does...but when you spit flows like that he obviously has no place in hip hop but to hold umbrellas for ceo's...that rhyme was trash - im bout to call BFI to come pick that nicca up.
Just waiting for you to answer 804southsidetrapstar's first question.....
damn t.i gotta small dick!!!!!!!!
How old was Kool Herc in 1975 when he started rap if he's 50 now? How old was Flash or Theodore in the 70's? How old was The Sugarhill Gangs in 1979? How old was Kool Moe D and the Treacherous Three when they dropped Heartbeat in 81? How old was Rakim, BDK, Run-DMC, LL, KRS and every other fucking hip hop Icon when they started?!!! I rest my case. You nigger who advised me to learn my history need to take your own advice. Rap was music made by kids for kids. MC Hammer was 27 when he came out and niggas though he was too old to rap. Didn't LL say, "an old gym teacher ain't supposed to rap?" A lot of y'all are in denial because you have aspirations of being artists. Too bad. You missed the boat nigga now find some grown up shit to do. You're never to old to make money but there comes a time when you get too old to be negatively influencing KIDS who by the way, buy the bulk of rap music. Ever wonder why? NIGGERS suffer from the Peter Pan syndrome. A bunch of losers who had to wait for adulthood to be kool kids and then wanna attack Soulja Boy for being a better KID than them. You gotta be kidding me.
@ Nimrod
I think Rev run send it best "I'm not cool I'm cools inspiration" and really as a Hip Hop fan who has just reached 30 that is how see the Jayz's Nas's Kanye's of the Hip Hop fraternity I agree with you many of them should maybe move over. but here is my problem; Hip Hop to me was always been a competition and in any sensible case of seperating the good from the awful skills dictated who was who. There wasn't alot of money in the industry when I was coming up listening. So for me and millions of others you had to be nice on the mic just to get noticed and get my lunch money. Now a days you just need a creatine chest, some moody bling, and dodgy sneaker line to pass as an official MC.
As a fan I have seen all the artists you have mentioned and many more besides come through and pay their dues crafting their skill and style. but one thing they all had was a respect for the culture that gave them their shot. Now alot of mc's think the world owes them somthing just because they decided to spit some bars. Why do you think downloads will never really die. The customer has no real belief in the product anymore, it's as throw away as a plastic bag tell me the last time you heard the next "electric relaxation" or "mass appeal". Now it's not all negative there are some interesting new mc's coming through Corey Gunnz, Jay Electronica are a couple I'm intrigued by of the new crop but until they threaten the relevance of Nas or Jigga or even LL those old fellas ain't going anywhere yet I agree Hip Hop was traditionally a young mans game but there are rules. The young dudes have to bring the heat. When the older guys can't spit the fire the way the new emcees are they will naturally bow out and manage the course of the industry from the board room (many are already making that transition). Nobody owes you anything in this world you have to be undeniable to get my paper these days it's not about age to me, it has never been. It's about what's fire and whats not when have the weight of a culture like HipHop you have bring fire anything else is just plain disrespectful. I'm not hating Soulja Boy, I hope he makes that paper cause those 15mins are ticking away. One you must understand longevity is everything thats why The Who and The Stones can still draw crowds. I've seen Nas and Jigga nearly reach 40 and still be relevant. Will you be able to say the same about Soulja Boy or Lil Wayne or Bow Wow even, Maybe but some how I doubt it.
yeah yall trippin yo, age dont matter, its da quality of the music and flow, in my opinion. and T.I. is only 27 anyway, 6 albums(5 platinum) so he gotta a pretty nice resume. and I did not know that Fonz was gay!! I thought he was just different, seriously!!
@ArtRoookie
I feel you. The issue for me is not that old dudes can't rap because they can and they do so a lot better than the young boys. No argument there. I just don't think they should be the dominant influence on people young enough to be their children unles they are their children. Older rappers deal with more mature subject matter which is cool if the consumers were all my age but they're not. I've watched hip hop go from being creative to being a nonstop informercial that commercializes ignorance and tag it a s black culture in the process. This is all fueled by an adult agenda. If I were to join my son's little league team I'd be a super star too. Who would really be impressed with a RINGER? Aretha Franklin can sing circles around Beyonce and Mary J but there's a reason she doesn't have an album coming out. We can't change the rules for hip hop. I'm sorry. Get your money, have your fun and then hit the oldies circuit and hall of fame but please don't hold up progress. The narcissism and selfishness that rap promotes and encourages is sickening.
When rappers in NY were just teens it took dudes from LA and other places to be in their 20's just to compete. As they entered the arena the game changed and not in a good way. They weren't as creative so they promoted "reality" rap which wasn't/isn't reality at all. It was really IGNORANCE allowed to masquerade as black culture and truth. The most disgusting example of minstrelsy since the era of black face.
Now, kids can't do that much damage because no one takes them that seriously but but grown ass men and women?! I say throw the bums out. Destroy and rebuild.
Again I have to ask. When did Bentley announce that he was gay? Just because dude has something in his wardrobe other than XXXXXXL large white tees and AF 1s; that makes him gay. F**k out of here.
Man I’m 34 years old, been. We were raised off hip-hop and we grew older with it. For me it was (old LL, Ice T, P.E., NWA…then 8 Ball and G, UGK, Outkast/Goodie Mob, Pac, Roots, then Master P and nem, and now UGK (again), still Outkast, T.I., Shawty Lo, Luda….I aint knocking young rappers, but I can’t relate to them Young Ni@@as. Just like I don’t f**k with the young ni@@as on my job. Yeah I’ll give’em a pound when I see them at club on Friday, or we’ll smoke a blunt together, but that’s about.
I still dont think Fonz is gay, I aint heard nuthin bout it, and it say nothin bout it on wikipedia even though I know they are unreliable at times I feel like they would mention somethin like dat. anyway, when it come to rappers over 30 I can get down wit Outkast, UGK, 8ball&MJG, Jay-Z, etc, but I cant really get down wit LL know more, I aint feeling dat track wit The-Dream(I do like both artists).
Apparently Ray Benzino and Dave Mays convinced you guys to print a retraction which since this is a gossip blog and not a news site then a retraction wouldn't necessarily be relevant however you guys are cowards and since you need more proof of some of the shady and unethical practices of Hip Hop Weekly and the founders then keep checking back on this blog because we are going to be uploading some damaging documents and audio recordings that will not only expose these guys but also one of the biggest players in hip hop.
WARNING TO DAVE MAYS & RAY BENZINO:
IF YOU GUYS ARE AS SMART AS YOU THINK YOU ARE THEN YOU WILL KNOW THAT I TOO HOLD A COUPLE OF CARDS OF MY OWN. ADDRESS THOSE OUTSTANDING ISSUES YOU HAVE WITH THE LITTLE PEOPLE OR THEY WILL BE THE ONES TO TAKE YOU DOWN. IN 72 HOURS THERE WILL BE ANOTHER SITE AVAILABLE FOR ALL CONCERNED TO SEE THAT WILL NOT BE TAKEN DOWN AS QUICK AS SOHH.COM HAS DONE IF MATTERS HAVE NOT BEEN DEALT WITH. RAY YOU DODGED A FEDERAL PROSECUTION THE FIRST TIME AROUND BUT THIS TIME THE METAL BRACELETS WILL BE WAITING FOR YOU. DAVE MAYS YOU THINK A FEW HARVARD CREDITS WILL PREVENT YOU FROM SEEING THE WRATH OF OUR POWER THEN JUST DO NOTHING AND WATCH YOUR WORLD CRUMBLE. DON'T ATTEMPT TO COME AT US THE WRONG WAY BECAUSE OTHERS ARE WAITING TO STRIKE AND THEY HAVE THE WHEREWITHAL TO DO SO.
THIS IS NOT A RUMOR...IT IS A PROMISE!
