The Samsung AT&T Summer Krush tour rolled through Atlanta last night and Nelly was the headliner. I stopped by to check out the St Louis representer. And you already know I got video and pictures for you below. Check it out.
Atlanta's historic Tabernacle was the place to be at last night. Throngs of fans and groupies alike lined the streets outside in hopes of getting an opportunity to attend this free concert. Jermaine Dupri, Bun B, and a surprise appearance by the St Lunatics made the evening tolerable.
While I may think that Nelly is on the verge of being washed up, it's clear that you all emphatically disagree because the venue was filled to capacity. I definitely have to give props to Cornell. Though it was a free concert, he still managed to pack it out. Lupe Fiasco and Karina were at the same venue two weeks prior and even though the event was open to the public it only filled up to about half capacity.
Anyway, here's the video I scored. I can't really tell you much about the concert because after waiting around an hour for the show to start, by the time Nelly finally graced the stage with his presence media was thrown out of the pit area shortly there after.
Maybe it's because everyone was violating the 20 seconds of footage rule? Who knows, but here's what I got.
Yea, he's literally almost on top of me. If he would've slipped or something it would have been me breaking his fall.
Update
I am getting emails from angry readers. Apparently Atlanta legends Goodie Mob and Cee Lo rejoined last night to perform. I didn't report on it because I did not see it. However, Michael Nourollahi emailed me his account of the surprising reunion. Here's what he had to say:
GOODIE MOB (WITH CEE LO) REUNITED FOR FIRST TIME IN YEARS AND PERFORMED... not even one mention? really? No disrespect to you, sir, but, Goodie MoB is a very important group to people BORN AND RAISED IN ATLANTA and if youre gonna call your blog sohh Atlanta at least cover their reunion! Good day.
