By now I am sure you know that its going DOWN over at HOT 107.9. From layoffs to schedule changes, it's an all out mess. Forget what you thought you knew about anything with the struggling Radio One owned station because I'm about to break it down.
When news broke yesterday about the shake up over at HOT I really didn't pay it too much attention. I personally don't listen to radio, but if I ever feel inspired to do so I only tune into V103 [just my personal choice, don't hate]. For those of you who don't live in the ATL, just think of the second most popular urban radio station in your city and that's HOT 107.9.
But apparently this news is sending ripples throughout the industry. If you didn't know ya boy be side hustlin' like crazy sometimes. Earlier this afternoon I decided to do some digging around and found out some information that I posted over at Streetcred.com. As of now here's the break down of who's in, who's out and who's, [pretty much] on their way out:
Griff - Terminated
Marie Moore- Terminated
E-4 Real- Terminated
Peezo- Terminated
Akini -Terminated
Rashan Ali -Moved to 10-2 [replacing Marie Moore].
Emperor Searcy [Moved to 2-6 replacing Mizz Shyneka] .
Dirty Boyz 6-10 [No Change]
Shyneka [10PM – 2AM]
Bistro 2-6[2AM -6AM]
Ricky Smiely [6AM-10AM]. [Source]
As you can see it's real ugly. Months back I did a blog post on the new PPM system that's been adopted nationwide. The radio game just isn't what it used to be. But there were two things about the sudden change up that peaked my attention.
One of the things that I found alarming was HOT's decision to put Rashan Ali up against radio powerhouse Porsche Foxx. As I've said before I don't even listen to radio, but even I know that V103's Porsche kills it in her time slot. Atlanta loves the former tragedy. She's so damn good that even after that DUI and all that other mess she got into after terminating her V had to bring her back because nobody could do it like she could.
I got respect for Rashan, but she might as well start looking in the classifieds because I don't think she's got a chance in hell of competing with Porche. [And y'all know I'm telling the truth]

Widely known as the Queen of Controversy, with a her new schedule Mizz Shyneka looks like she's going to be the Queen of the unemployment line.
I put a call into one of my sources who closely works with Shyneka and understandably so she is very pissed off.
Most of you may not be aware, but radio personalities side hustle just like the rest of us. And Mizz Shyneka made a lot of her money off club appearances. However, with her current time slot it looks like homegirl won't be pulling in that extra revenue and she is steamed.
As salacious as all this is it's yet another example of how the country is suffering from poor leadership.
Let's hope HOT can survive the PPM. Because as of now V103 is looking like the victorious ones.

Nigga, what Atlanta do you live in?? V103 lame as fuck! They morning show is garbage compared to Hot. Hot107 throws all the hottest parties and all the biggest names in the industry fuck with Hot107. I didnt know people actually listened to V103. True Mzz Shyneka is one of the lamest DJs on the radio but still lol. 103>107, you have to be kiddin?! Its sad to see them go out like that tho.
