Friday morning [August 22] I was presented with the opportunity of a lifetime - to have breakfast as well as interview a hip-hop legend. LL Cool J touched down in the ATL to promote his new album and thanks to my Def Jam connect Ron Hurd me and LL got a chance to chat it up about his new album, physical fitness and more. Check out our sit down below.
Everyone who reads SOHH Atlanta knows that I am not the one to be wow'd by anyone. I think I have met almost every influential artist from Jay-Z to Janet, but nobody has ever had me as nervous as I was when I interviewed Mr. Smith. But even though my nerves almost got the best of me I managed to pull it together to ask him what y'all really want to know...why in the hell is he still putting out new music. Oh yes, I went there.
Watch my exclusive sit down with a real hip-hop star.
I know the interview was a little longer than usual, but for LL I'm sure nobody is complaining. As you can see from the video LL is a very friendly, outgoing and well rounded guy.
Arguably one of the biggest names in rap music, Mr. Smith made it his priority to shake hands with everyone who came out to support him. That alone speaks volumes because you won't see Jay-Z, Lil Wayne or even Kanye West doing anything in the realm of things like that. It speaks a lot about his character.
Stage 13 is LL's last album under his 24 year contract with Def Jam. His new slow to burn hit with Dream titled "Baby" is the first single from the track and the new project is scheduled to hit stores on September 9th. While I haven't heard any of the project off my loyalty to hip-hop alone I will be running out to cop this disc.
And for all you aspiring musicians out there who are trying to get your music heard, it seems that LL Cool J hears you and wants to help. He's just launched a new online community designed for aspiring artists to record, share, and remix original music and video content called boomdizzle.com,
Todd Smith is a father, husband, an accomplished actor,, a top selling rap artist and a world renowned sex symbol. When he enters a room his persona is larger than life and he comes across as almost not human. That to me is the definition of a star. SOHH for all you young kats in the game who think that being a star is all about the diamond necklaces, red carpet events, video shoots all to get that "quick money" might need to do ya homework.

MAJOR Shoutout to Ron Hurd over at Def Jam for breakfast and the interview!
Parents hide your children and fellas please don't be dumb because Karrine "Superhead" Steffans is moving to Atlanta. That's right it seems that the video vixen whose spread her legs for damn near every nucca in the game back in the day has grown tired of Los Angeles and is coming here to start some trouble.
Let's hope a lot of you dumb rappers won't get caught up in her mess because I think it's pretty safe to say that unless you want ya business exposed you better steer clear of this chick.
Talk to y'all lata,
