[This is my pick for SOHH Atlanta's Honorable Mention This Week]
In today's shaky and over all lame music industry I consider it a musical blessing when I am able to find two stellar acts back to back. Y'all already know that I fux with Asher Roth heavily, but now there's more fresh music up in my iPod from an Atlanta duo [by way of the Virgin Islands], Rock City.
I'm not even gonna front like these kats just stepped on the scene because real music heads already know about em. Rovella Williams with Almost Famous been buzzing in my ear for a minute about these kats, but it wasn't until I saw the video for their new song " I'm Losing It" that I turned into a fan. And after doing some digging around I've come to find out that often times good music that we're all looking for can be right up under our noses.
In a time where music is redundant, repetitive, and just down right boring these brothers [yes they're actually siblings] are bringing the FIYAH. If you want a a little Pop - they got you. If you want a Caribbean vibe- they got. But if you truly want the essence of hip-hop and all around good music - they for DAMN sure got you.

And we gonna keep living off other artists advances so we can never fall off like Morpheus glasses.

But let's just forget for a minute that these two are behind some of the biggest hits you've heard on the radio. Let's forget that they are signed to Konvict Music/Interscope records. Let's also forget that they penned the new Pussycat Dolls records "When I Grow Up". All you need to remember is that these kats will be big in one years time. Not street buzz big I'm talking world wide buzz!!
Lil Mama, Chris Brown, Lil Wayne, and yes even Jay-Z needs to sit they asses down because in my opinion Rock City rocked that beat better then any of em'...PERIOD!

It sounded like every other A Millie remix....the sad thing is everyone used the same concept and flow that wayne used. A remix is when you completely do it different and really change the song, and if you really do it good you forget about the orginal...hence the one more chance by biggie.

Nobody's really remixing the record, there actually just freestyling (if that's what u can call it) over the track. I'm a Hov fan and he didn't kill it but these dudes sounded slightly better than Wayne on his own shit. They got a hot single and video out that I just saw last night too. You can tell they're related too cause it would be ironic to find two who look like they do. lol! (But they have talent)
