[COMMENTS ARE DOWN FOR THE MOMENT. THE TECH DEPT IS WORKING ON THE ISSUE, SORRY!]
I caught up with Young Jeezy this past weekend at V103's Car And Bike show. I wanted to get at him to address the BMF allegations as well as his recent DUI, but before I could even hit the record button on my camera he made it very clear that he wasn't interested in talking about any of that. Now the old Gyant would've still tried to sneak it in on some level, but I've learned how to better respect people and their drama. However, he did talk to me about the new album, our struggling economy and why he thinks you should vote for Barack Obama.
Perhaps I will try and trap Mr. Jenkins in our next sit down about all the other stuff. I mean he's going to have to talk about it at some point. I mean he CAN'T not talk about it. But today let's just keep it light. LOL!
But Moving Right Along........
It seems that while Shawty Lo has been spending all his time and energy trying to "expose" T.I. the hood that he so proudly wears like a badge across his chest is in peril. According to a recent news report Atlanta developers want to tear down the well known Bowen Homes housing community to make way for a better more engaging property development.
Not surprisingly the community is fighting such a proposal. Since 1994, Atlanta has steadily demolished dilapidated public housing to make way for mixed-income projects.
While it's no surprise that cities are slowly trying to demolish the "hoods" of our nations, I think that this isn't necessarily a bad idea. But I still find it interesting that rappers don't focus their time, energy and celebrity to help out those who come from where they come from.
Instead of trying to call T.I. out why doesn't Shawty Lo attempt to draw media attention to helping Bowen Homes? I'm just sayin....
