Wow. Lil Wayne failed miserably with this album. It was a mixtape, there was no real depth to this album whatsoever. He's just rapping, he aint talking about nothing at all, I expected some depth but I got nothing. I knew the album was going to be a disappointment but damn, he had a real chance to prove that he was as good as he says but he failed. Maybe on the Carter 4 we'll hear something that holds enough depth to be played a year from now. His lyrics are on point but they hold no meaning. The production was average at best.

I personally have never been brainwashed by the hype, weezy stans annoy the fuck out of me. there the type that will jump on the bandwagon of anything! The funny thing is, it seems alot of them have already switched! which didnt suprise me either!!

I predicted weezy would come with a solid album, which he has. I think at times it has moments of brilliance ("Dr Carter"), at times it sounds straight horrible ("La La").

Overall though it is a good/solid album. You have to congratulate him for just coming with something different!

For those that were so into dickriding wayne and drawn into the hype - expecting "a masterpiece from the best rapper alive", the truth may hurt - he isnt the best rapper alive and im sorry this isnt a classic! The truth is he is an extremely talented MC, with a distinct style and swagger! Is he the "best rapper live"? No! But that doesnt mean you can't still enjoy the album for what it is (and what it was always bound to be) !! A very good / very enjoyable album, from a very talented MC

The track with Juelz and Fab sum this album up perfectly. When put next to any rapper that can hold his own, FAB and a bum as rapper, Juelz, Wayne still sounds third rate.

His story telling ability is ehhh, so-so. His voice is annoying, let's be for real folks, it is. His flow is not his own, I'm hearing Jay-Z with Andre 3000 sprinkled throughout. His style was better on THE BLOCK IS HOT and if you've been listening long you'll know that I'm telling the truth.

I don't see or hear what the hype on this album was for. Production? Ok, he paid for some hot beats. Guest appearances? Same thing as the beats, money and I'm sure respect due to his work ethic and fame, but do those two things make a classic album? No.

If you've been paying attention, classic albums are usually done with few guest appearances and a cohesive production theme. When listening to this album from track one to the end, it sounds disjointed. It doesn't flow in my opinion.

I've never been a lil wayne fan, and his voice is annoying as shit, but there's a lot to said for this cd. First of all, it's not one of those heavily produced cds where the music is the star of the show. The production on those cds overshadows the rapper, and it doesn't matter that the rapper isn't saying shit. Wayne uses sparse tracks that highlight HIM. The tracks invite you to listen, and the dude crams metaphors together like crazy. I think we can all admit that this cd isn't designed to make people dance; it's designed to make people think. Now, you may consider it mindless drabble that only loosely has anything to do with the title of the song. And he might sound like a gremlin. But I have to concede that he has made the people who love him start to listen to music again. And this will be beneficial to us all. Wordplay could be back in style!

It does'nt mean that you have to try and walk in their shoes. Man, just do you and enjoy the music for what it is. Its only music.

I'm a Wayne fan, but it doesn't cloud my vision. I kept it objective when listening to the album. Considering the 2+ years of hype and buildup, and Weezy's constant proclaimations as "the best rapper alive", this album fell short. Ordinarily I would call this a solid effort... but with everything surrounding it, it's definetly a disappointment.

3 Peat - hot beat from cool and dre, they always hold it down. Weezy's lyrics are subpar. (2/5)

Mr. Carter - a standout on the album. Good beat. Wayne steps his game up on this one, Jay's verse is aight. (4/5)

A Milli - I think this song captures Lil Wayne's whole style. A person can determine whether or not they like Lil Wayne from this song. If your a dick rider, Wayne shut this shit down. If your a hater, his flow is just boastful nonsense. I'm somewhere in the middle. Overall the song is enjoyable. (3/5)

Got Money - This probably going to be the next single. I never really cared for the whole T-Pain wave, but this song will probably appease the under 18 crowd, and gain a lot of radio airplay. Lyrically, the song is garbage. But I undestand Wayne needs to sell some ringtones. The beat is tolerable. (1/5)

Comfortable - I think this is the most underrated song on the album. Amazing production from Kanye. Good hook from Babyface. Pretty good lyrics. (4/5)

Dr. Carter - In my opinion the best cut from the album. The concept is refreshing, and Swizz Beats does his best on the track. I like the rising tide of the beat. Weezy shines on this one lyrically. I feel like this is a song I will be playing 5 years from now. I wish his whole album was like this. (5/5)

Phone Home - This was really a hit or miss track. I get the whole I'm-so-above-your-heads concept, it's just it wasn't well executed. The beat isn't too inspiring. The lyrics were again so-so. (1/5)

Tie My Hands - Another standout. Usually these R&B tracks are what take away from an album, but this one is really good. Wayne shows some emotion in the lyrics, you can tell he's coming from the heart. Robin Thicke has a great voice. (4/5)

Mrs. Officer - Corny lyrics. Boring hook. This song is easily forgetable. (0/5)

Let the Beat Build - This had potential. But the loop gets annoying. Plus the drums don't really match up with the sample. Wayne half-asses the lyrics. (1/5)

Shoot Me Down - an average song. Weezy doesn't really amaze anyone on this track, he's just rhyming words. Production is ok. (2/5)

Lollipop - Everybody knows this song already. If you take away the effects of constant radio spins, it's a decent song - except the lyrics are elementary. (2/5)

La La - The worst track on the album. (0/5)

Playing With Fire - The Betty Wright collabo is out of left field. I like when rappers take risks though, so even though the lyrics aren't too great it's close to passable. (2/5)

You Ain't Got Nuthin - Weezy gets outshined by Juelz and Fab on this one. the beat is pretty good. (3/5)

Dont Get It - Standout track. Great production from will.i.am. Wayne closes it out with good lyrics. Ignore the last four minutes though. (4/5)

Again this has the makings of a straight cd, it's just with the way it was hyped up, I expected more. What was really missing was the lyrics. I wish Lil Wayne had saved some those blazin guest verses for his album. Of course, Tha Carter III will probably go multi-platinum....

this is very disappointing to see this leak appearing on sohh. I am NOT a fan of WAYNE but this is clearly wrong. I don't care what Lil Wayne said to all mixtape djs, it's his opinion. To ruin his work like this is beyond appalling. I choose not to listen to the list you have above.

While this is not a classic (10/10), this album does go pretty hard especially my favorite track Dr. Carter. Wayne is my second favorite rapper, and from listening to his whole catalog of music he finally put it all together (concepts, lyrics, flow and delivery) But please... SOMEONE GET THIS MAN SOME BEATS.

ummm.. no.. Albums dont leak from inside the camp. They leak because the stores warehouses get them in advance and then from their they leak out.. That's why they are usually leaked within 2 or even sometimes 3 weeks before tha album.

In the more recent years.. we've seen albums typically leak 1-2 weeks prior to release date.

If you call this album a classic then I really have to question what albums you've heard and how old you are. Its alright at best, a few hot songs does not make a good album. With that said Mr. Carter is my shit, and while A Milli sounds more like a mixtape track I still bump it.
