Ok, SOHH I decided to bring back Atlanta’s Own talent showcase because I had been receiving SOHH many emails from people inquiring about it. It’s a big job running this showcase because I receive hundreds of emails a week from people who want to be considered for it. But, out of the hundred submissions I looked at there were only four tracks this week that brought something different that from the norm. Hip-Hop is about artistic expression. But, unfortunately a lot of the tracks sounded the same. There was no originality, and therefore I had to overlook them. The four people you're about to check out brought "that thang" that I felt made them worthy to be exposed to the readers. SOHH without further ado, lets get into the showcase.

Rovella Williams of Almost Famous swears by this dude. And, I’m not even going to front; dudes got something going on with track.
â€You Can Hate Meâ€
Coming from the west coast, a region that has produced stars like Snoop Dogg, Dr.Dre, N.W.A and many more, and famous for its unique lifestyle, Roccett embodies what many west coast rap fans love, while at the same time displaying a versatility that makes him appealing to hip-hop fans across the world.
His charisma and strong stage presence, combined with his ability to craft stories about a wide array of subjects earned the young rapper the respect of fans and caused the industry to take notice.
His talent and drive caught the attention of Green Up Entertainment in 2004, and his partnership with the company, which has worked with notables like Usher and Tupac, has produced a sizable buzz. Having already worked with established stars like Young Jeezy, Fabolous, Killer Mike, Knoc'turn'al and other rising rappers like Bishop Lamont and Spider Loc at this young stage of his career, as well as having critically acclaimed mixtapes under his belt, Roccett's talent is clear.
With so many dues paid, his industry knowledge and the groundwork set, Roccett is poised to make a lasting impression on hip-hop.

I was really on the fence about running with this track. I think this dude has deal since he has Scott Storch on production and Monica on the hook. But, I since I didn’t specify in the rules initially that you couldn’t have a deal to be featured I thought I’d cut lil homie a break. And, not to mention the track isn’t all that bad either.
â€Aint Nothing†feat Monica
Even though his name is a pun on his ethnicity, do not confuse Frank Lee White as another Eminem-esque, wanna-be white rapper. “It’s not a white emphasis, you like it or not, it is what it isâ€, and what “it isâ€, is impossible to resist and instantly aurally addicting. White’s rhymes flow naturally and immaculately in his infectiously smooth yet electric voice which compliments any beat he encounters.
Born and raised on the East side of Atlanta, Frank White has the vocal proclivity of a multi-platinum rapper. His authentic southern style and razor-sharp lyrical execution enables him to stand paramount on collaborations amidst Snoop Dogg, Nate Dogg, Mike Jones and other highly demanded artists. It was this undeniable talent and vivacious sound that catapulted Frank Lee White to the attention of Dr. Dre and prompted his career with industry icons Warren G and Timbaland for whom he made feature track appearances on albums and wrote for, respectively.
In Georgia, White’s family sustained themselves on food stamps and rice cakes for the greater part of his formative years. Growing up in tough times and an ever tougher neighborhood, White focused his energy on his innate writing talent. “Everyone was in gangs. I don’t fight, not good at selling dope, I had to do something with myself.†Young White even spawned poems and rhymes at age 12 that had his classmates tagging him as a plagiarizer for work that was incomparably beyond his years. With a writer as his mother, it is not surprising that White’s creativity was first cultivated in the written facet of this medium. He deems lyrics to be the quintessential element of all tracks, believing that the written word is the true substance, and only way to make a song honorably “timeless.â€

This lil homie has been grinding it out hard for years trying to make his mark on the hip-hop game. JT isn’t what you’d consider a traditional rapper but, the fact that his music is all about positively, and not the usual lyrics that you find laced with obscenities, misogyny, and glorifying streetlife is what makes him a heavy contender for the showcase.
JT “Must Be The Shoesâ€
The young artist has expanded his career into the music spotlight. With the current buzz of his single, "Must Be the Shoes," soon to catch national attention, JT plans to win the ladies over with his cute smile and endearing personality. Catapulting his career into the next level, the handsome emcee landed the opportunity of recording with Kanye West on the College Dropout album. "Working with Kanye was one of the best experiences ever. New artists such as me don't get opportunities like that. I was able to be on the first track entitled "We Don't Care" on Kanye's CD," says JT.
Determined to create an album with a lasting impression, JT has been working with producers Pit and Aftermath producers Bishop Lamont (Dr. Dre) and Focus (Beyonce). Fans of JT should look forward to positive tracks that deliver his total package - daunting good looks and talent to match.
Must be the shoes co- produced by Pit (Party like a rockstar) and M16 (playaz circle duffle bag boy) this track just got Jt a shoe endorsement by K1x a international shoe company based in Germany.

Proton -“Good Timesâ€
Take two MCs raised on a diet of golden era hip-hop, a craft forged during the outbreak and subsequent takeover by glitz and glamourtypes, give them a sound-scape that ghetto girls and frat boys can bounce to, and you've got Proton. With a musical style labeled the missing link between Southernplayalistic and ATLiens, these A-town and Chicago natives would like to welcome you to the other face of Atlanta. Don't let the name fool you; Proton quickly shatters all preconceptions of 'positive' music.
In a period where downloads and piracy threaten an artist'slivelihood, Proton has developed a rather progressive outlook on the music industry. It is their belief that during such a time, diversity and unpredictability, which formerly were considered weaknesses, are their greatest assets. Their sound is primarily based in hip-hop music, but is diversified by electronic, rock, and alternative influences; fitting ingredients, considering their sole proclamation is not to bring 'real' hip-hop back, but to push it forward.
