Weekend Run Rundown: The Good, The Bad and Yes, Even The Beyonce!

This weekend was pretty action packed with Beyonce, Robin Thicke and J.D. and the crew in town.
Here’s a rundown of what happened.
I already reported on J.D.'s issue with the Club Onyx crew(Story Here)
J.D., Kanye, Fabulous and a host of others all came out to Oprea on Friday night. It was the most popular hot spots of the evening.
Nelly also came through to show J.D. luv. It was the usual crowd, but it’s still cool to see that J.D. can get the ladies to come out they way they do.
I would love to tell you all how fly Beyonce was at the Phipps Arena, but it seems Yvette over at BMG/Sony, and the B gang have contempt for the SOHH.com crew as we were denied access. In fact Yvette Noel-Schurer’s exact words were “Not Approved!”
It was funny as hell when I got that email. It’s like you could tell that she was attempting to shut SOHH down with the Beyonce train, but from what I heard we didn’t miss anything at all.
Although I do know that Jigga himself was in the building. But he didn't come out to perform. Oh well, moving right along…
The So So Def White Party at Compound was the best event of the weekend in my opinion. It was a nice size turnout. Although I did think that it wouldnt be due to the fact that they were very strict on the white attire.
The So So Def celebrity basketball tournament was the most boring event of the weekend. I hate to say it, but watching a lot of washed up entertainers duke it out on the court wasn’t what I had in mind.
Lorenz Tate, J.D.(who didn’t even play until the last 5 minutes of the game), Nelly, Chingy, Da Brat, and two members from Jagged Edge were the only “celebrities” I could make out.
But, there was this one moment when I thought a superstar had entered the building. I was down on the court when I saw a bunch of fans running from the bleachers to the floor.
Everybody was going ape sh*t. There were police escorts and people screaming and yelling. For a moment I even started to get excited because I was thinking Janet was in the building.
But to my utter disappointment it was only Bow Wow, and that’s when I knew it was time to go.
No disrespect to the teeny bop rapper, but who the hell is Bow Wow to get THAT much attention. I mean geesh you would have thought it was Jay-Z or somebody. It seems that I was way outside my age group.
J.D.'s team won, or at least I think they did, I really wasnt paying that close attention!
Oh really quick, I got to shout out Coordinator, Julius Small, (no pun intended) over at Mauldin Brand.

I give Bow Wow credit. He is the only kid rapper to last and make it. Kriss Kross was first but they didn't last. Lil Romeo, Sammie, all these dudes have 1 single then disappear. Bow Wow been going strong for a decade.

I told Allhiphop that the pic was Jemeni and not Eva in the sex pic and all I asked for was a little credit. The niggaz put it up today and didn't give me NO CREDIT for being their source. I told SOHH the same thing when they put the blog up and I got NO CREDIT for being the source. I even contacted Eva's people so they could defend themselves and they gave me NO CREDIT.

SoSo Def week was cool. Its usually lame by the end of the weekend but it held up this year. Big Bob and Lil Baller did a great job. My favorites were the white party and 250k money drop. I just want this to be the last summer of the white party it is a lame theme for a party now.

Yes!! I think I love JD. My pet peeve is white parties where people don't wear white. It's so fly to see a room full of white at an upscale white party.

I was just in New York for The Color Purple and I got a chance to see Fantasia for free at Bryant Park while there and it was better singing...don't hate.....I hope the music world is coming to grips and we start to get awya from all the hype, bow wow did have his day, but he is a celebrity not a star...there is a vast difference....and the young people were probably glad to see him because of Bet, Vh1, Mtv our young people have become decieved and worship people who go to the toilet the same way they do and put their pants on the the exact same way, and have to totally depend on God for the very breath they breath,it has become a joke!!!!!

July 22, 2007. MediaTakeOut.com has learned that Houston rapper Lil Flip was arrested for credit card fraud. With the charges filed, police are alleging that Lil Flip used a stolen credit card to purchase hundreds of dollars of merchandise.
And what "merchandise" was charged to the stolen credit card. Sources tell MediaTakeOut.com that the stolen cards were used to purchase gasoline, miscellaneous items of clothing and internet pornography.
Right now, it's not clear whether the pornography depicted gay or straight acts.
Lil Flip, whose real name is Wesley Weston, turned himself in to police yesterday afternoon. The 26 year old rapper was released on $2,000 bond and is scheduled to be in court on Monday.
