Just to make a point, yeah, a lot of these dances in the south seem like some straight coonery....but last time I checked, "The Harlem Shake" and "The Chicken Noodle Soup" are quite coonified. Now about Big, Pac, Jay etc....

True, Jay took over cause Big died (he would've been his hype man if he didn't). On top of that he raped Big L for his flow (go peep their freestyle together off of Stretch and Bobbito and notice how much Jay has change and how similar it sounds today.) I like Jay, but he borrows too many lines, (Big L, Big, Snoop, Bun B (Isn't he from the South?!!?) Nas, Pac (knowing damn well Pac didn't like his ass!!!).

Pac was the most influential. Period.

I'm from the West and even I can admit Big and Jay are more lyrical as far as clever lines and delivery, but Pac covered all bases in regards to life, social issues, the streets, stories and etc in his music. Jay just started doing that (Minority Report vs. Keep Your Head Up, Brenda's Got A Baby, White Man's World....)

And as far as being gangsta, since when should gangstas be idiots? If you have cameras following you all the time, considering you know who shot you, why would you be dumb enough to pull the trigger yourself? That's like asking to get hemmed up by the boyz. If your favorite artist does so, that's not gangsta, it just stupid. In no way am I trying to argue or validate anyone's gangsta cause I'm not one, so how would I know? Takes one to know one right?
