I have heard from a reliable source that Ushers family found a Indian Medicine Man to remove the hex that Tameka put on Usher.

This is obviously a publicity stunt so they can have their privacy. Why else do you think they waited until the day before to "cancel" it? If they had canceled it, say, a week before, it would have given someone in the media enough time to find out where the ceremony was really going down. This way, they have everybody speculating about why they broke up (see above) while they're enjoying a nice, private ceremony away from the papparazi, bloggers, and haters.
