I wasn’t going to report this story on SOHH Atlanta because I know how touchy some of the readers get when I don’t talk about A.) Hip-Hop, or B.) Hip-Hop. But a lot of the comments have been requesting it so here I go.
Basically, Michael Vick is in deep sh*t. We all know why, but I know a lot of people don’t realize exactly what is at stake for Atlanta’s most popular quarterback.
All I can say is that it’s good to have friends in high places, because I got some exclusive sh*t for you.
I ran this story on my other blog site yesterday. So this is a straight rip from there.
Atlanta’s arguably most popular quarterback is about to have even more problems on his hands.According to published reports, Vick, who also goes by the name “Ookie”, has officially been indicted for his alleged participation in a dogfighting operation so gruesome the losers either died in the pit or sometimes were electrocuted, drowned, hanged or shot.
But from what my sources are telling me, this is just the tip of the iceberg for the multi-millionaire.O1LT.com has leaned exclusively that Vick could possibly be suspended from the Atlanta Falcons as soon as next week over his dogfighting controversy. An informant told me exclusively that the NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell’s decision plays heavy on the fact that Vick’s trial could overshadow the upcoming season. “The NFL has a reputation, the team has a reputation, and the media and the public are putting pressure on the commissioner.”
My source also expresses to me that the owner of the Falcons Arthur Blank is very, very upset with Michael.
Vick’s off the field antics have already cost him his Air-Tran endorsement. And now it’s looking like his million dollar salary is next.
And if that ain't bad enough Nike has suspended Vick's new shoe line. The number one athletic company in the world has told retailers it will not release a fifth signature shoe, the Air Zoom Vick V, this summer.
A statement released by Nike Inc. the company said "they are concerned by the serious and highly disturbing allegations made against Michael Vick, and we consider any cruelty to animals inhumane and abhorrent. We do believe that Michael Vick should be afforded the same due process as any citizen; therefore, we have not terminated our relationship.
So there you go. Is it fair, or is it a witch hunt?

I have thought for a long time now that athletes should be required to take sportsmanship classes including community service starting in middle school. That would head off a lot of these problems when you throw millions of dollars into the hands of a very young person. They are not properly developed as human beings in many cases. People who excel in sports are fawned over long before they enter the professional sports leagues. For those that don't make it to college sports let alone professional often don't fare well in life as I have personally witnessed many many times. Michael Vick needs some home training. I don't know if I want to give up on him completely, because he strikes me as the type of person who would run through his remaining money in no time flat and wind up in a life of crime if he is booted from the league.

They have been trying to get Vick since he came into the league. They couldn't stand that he changed the QB position like he did. Plus he was a brother with style and flare, they didn't like that. So they have always been looking for a way to shoot him down. I just hope he didn't give them the amunition to do so.

If I were African-American-I would want a better role model, especially if I had kids that thought he was so great! I think you described several things that Michael Vick has done and none of them give Michale Vick much character or credit. Secondly, I guess you think OJ is innocent too? This isn't about the white man, the black man or any race-it's about evidence the feds found after an extensive investigation, which in turn, pointed to Michael Vick being involved in a very gruesome and disgusting dog fighting ring.
