Why do you have that pic up? If this is true I hope that Luda puts his career on the back burner and be a real record executive. The line up over there is not that strong at all so they need all the help they can get.This needs to be a rumor.

msot of dtp artists are signed on def jam who is failing to market ALL its artists nowadays. its a label thing. im a huge luda fan and to me only bobby v luda palayz circle serius jones and field mob is of any solid talent to me. def jam spent lots of money promoting shit like fabolous and rihanna and let other artists in da dust. the same thing theyre doing to chrisste michele whose album is off da chain. and he most likely will flop. its a major issue. def jam also released anonymouse late and the video da same da d album released. how pathetic is that. it aint ludas job to amrket his artists really. its da marketing teams job. and da dep. of marketing at dtp and DEF JAM in particular NEEDS to b fired. real talk

I've been to about 8 concerts in which Luda was on the line-up. One was his own concert at my college, UAB. Everytime he has a concert he lets at least 2 of his artists or groups perform their OWN songs. He has his them featured on all of his cds. He puts out DTP albums and they have had mixtapes. So, HE supports his artists. So either the artists on DTP Records suck or the Marketing at DTP and Def Jam sucks. I personally think it is the marekting and the fact that some of the artists just aren't consistent enough.

Even though I'm steadily speaking on the issues I have with the site spreadin the hate...and not speaking on positivity, I definetly do not agree with Ron leaving.

The problem with the blogs was three fold as far as I could see it.

#1. You got bloggers stating un truths and promoting the mean, hateful spirit. With that said…think back, how many posts did you get from readers when you posted up the Shock G blog? How many thankful posts did you get when you posted up your other blogs with a positive spin on it? There is no balance.

#2. You got these people signing on with fake names, posting homo, racists, and just straight ignorance. Now, it’s one thing to have an opinion..but it’s another when you come on just to show your behind and act ignorant on the blog in order to try and destroy the blog and all the discussion on it. There needs to be a way for SOHH to ban the IPs based on straight ignorance and stupidity. And nobody should get this confused with someone speaking opinions...that is not what I'm talking about.

#3. The blog does not have any avenue dedicated to any positivity going on in the music, community...or anything else that is being done BY hip hop to contribute towards change.. I’ve said it before, and have said it again….we should have a SOHH Spiritual Blog.
And I ain't talkin about just having a Christian blog, but I'm talking about one where we could all spit down about the lyrics of the different beliefs...talk about how it affected us in a real way, and speak on how we believe that these lyrics on beliefs have potential to make positive change should people listen and learn.

My point with the spiritual blog, is that by claiming that there should not be no censorship…SOHH is being irresponsible by censoring the site from having such a blog. Create a balance…not just an atmosphere of disgust. There is NO REASON not to..unless SOHH is being controlled by someone , or something who does not have the best interest of the readers in mind. Then…like Ron, everyone should begin looking for a change.

That DigiPimp even deleted one of my comments. And in the comment all I did was post up information regarding Kurtis Blow’s tour, the Texas Holy Hip Hop awards, and a huge event here in San Antonio where we are hosting 14 of the hottest Christian Hip Hop underground artists in the country. And THIS after claiming he’s giving shine to the underground tryin to come up.

There is no balance. The problem wasn’t Ron Mexico or his blog. If you are gonna start censoring, you need to be more worried about consistency and equality and accuracy. Even though Ron and I had our discussions, we both had an understanding and there was a level of respect.

We need to work to change the spirit of garbage, and not suppress those who are products of it.

its funny how everyone reads some stuff on the net, looks at a soundscan chart and now they are a fucking expert on the music industry. Everybody is so quick to write off an artist like Bobby who actually does have talent and made one of the better R&B releases this year and make it seem like its his fault it doesnt sell, as if he cant make music. If you people really would dig for your dirt and pay attention, you would realize that DefJam plays favorites with their artists, which is indicated by the numbers not the music. It is a widely known fact amongst the music community and industry folks in general that Bobby made a better album than Neyo, point blank. Bobby sings better as well, however take a look at the radio picture and who is getting their videos played and who is getting all that sponsorship money and who gets plastered all over TRL and you will see who the favorites are. These are things the label controls, you'd be a fool to think the labels don't shuck and jive to get who THEY want on the radio, bet and mtv! With songs like Soon as I get Home and Rearview on one album there is no way a label that gives a shit or knows what they are doing lets an artist with an album like Bobby's just keep tumbling. Def Jam is incompetent, you think they fired 40 people because they were doing a good job?

@ ATL Red how can you say Luda's records dont do shit in the A, when they are all over HOT and V103 as soon as they come out, Im just saying. If by don't do shit you mean you never hear them in Club Primetime, maybe you need to expand your paradigm brother cuz Luda did that two albums ago!

I hope DTP makes a good choice cause Grand Hustle might make em look a lil funny, anyway, Bobby's album IS better than Ne-yo's...

Man I-20 cd didn't sell well but it went hard in my opinion. I still bump that cd till this day. He had horrible promotion and it kept getting pushed back. Im sorry but in my opinion Luda was always more worried about his projects than his other artist. I remember when Shawnna first cd dropped and she was on 106 n park to show the shake that shit video. For some reason Luda was there to show diamond in the back. That was grimey in my opnion seeing that Luda was established and Shawnna was trying to make a name for herself. Luda might put them on songs or whatever but I dont think they were even on his last joint and was barely on the one before that . Brother, I couldn't have said it better myself. Believe me when I tell you that Def Jam (as well as some other so-called 'hip hop labels')has a team of people that are constantly monitoring and tracking trends. With Rap sales nosediving right now, Def Jam is redistributing their assets towards the market with the biggest/most lucrative profit margin and, like any company looking at declining sales, are funneling the money into the market where they believe they have the greatest windfall potential.

In lamens terms: Def Jam is getting out of the rap business!!

Don't believe me? Ask yourself:

- how many rap acts have they signed in the last two years, compared to the number of rap acts they've dropped?

- how many R&B (see: pop) acts like Rhianna have they signed in the last couple of years?

- where is the promotional money going? You can always tell the direction a record company is leaning by tracking promo money.

DTP should give serious consideration to becoming an indie label. Real talk.

Jay-Z is running Def Jam into the ground. Did anyone know LL had a new CD out? No.
