Okay, some piece of this story is missing. Even if you're an up and coming producer, there are toooooo many conferences, seminars, showcases and lets face it, other people in the "business" you know, to understand how to protect your self and your product. Why would create all these beats for someone when they havent' been paying you what you think you're worth, especially by the 2nd or 3rd album. ANY half way decent attorney trying to get his/her leg up would have helped you structure a mutually beneficialy deal.

Also, there is something called a contract and none of these rappers been that big that long for them to be able to "take advantage" of their position.

Now I do think it's wrong not to pay people fairly when they do something that helps you get your paper, whether it's on the front end or back end. It's janky not to.

However, I gotta feeling young man sold his "birth right" for a few dollars in order to get his foot in the door and now that those beats have been successful he now wants more. Morally he may deserve more but business wise is it owed to him?

We can be mad all we want but some people sell their "birth right" to be in the entertainment industry and then get mad when the other person blows up.

It's the entertainment BUSINESS, not the "let me see how famous I can get and how many cars, jewelry and parties I can get into." People need to treat it like a business and not a place for them to try and be "somebody" through fame.

From jump protect your business and your product, even with friends. Master P said it once, (and I'm paraphrasing) "we can't be friends until we get the businss down first." In otherwords real friends, etc understand the importance of business.

So handle your business from jump and you won't need to have blind items created in order to shame the artist into giving you more paper.
