Does Young Jeezy's New Group, USDA, Have A Chance In Hell of Becoming A Success Post Don Imus?

Now that everyone seems to be cracking down on offensive music lyrics does new ATL groupâ€"USDAâ€"have a chance in hell of getting their music on the radio?

When word broke that Young Jeezy had formed a new group with southern rappers Slick Pulla and Blood Raw it sparked a buzz in the streets. However, post Don Imus many are questioning if there is a place for the eclectic trio on the billboard charts and on radio.

Their first single “White Girls” have had some marketing issues (putting it nicely).

Though the song is a club banga, one can’t ignore the fact that it glorifies cocaine. I’m told by a very reliable source that CTE has had a daunting task of marketing and promoting the single.

The first idea of forming a White Girl street team was immediately nixed by LA Reid. So it’s left everyone involved with the project scratching their heads.

I will be watching this one very closely to see what’s going to happen, but if I can be honest with you, and you know I always am, they don’t have a snowballs chance in hell of making this work.

I’m told that video was just shot last week, so we will see in the upcoming weeks what’s going to happen.

Do you think “White Girls” has a chance in today’s troubled times?

Talk to y'all lata,

SoHH Gyant

Gimmicks only last but oh so long!
Unplug yourselves!

THIS IS SOME BULL....WHO GIVES A F*** ABOUT DON IMUS....EVERYBODYS ALREADY FORGOT ABOUT HIS A**, THAT AINT GOT NOTHIN TO REALLY DO WITH JEEZY'S LYRICS CUZ RAP IS NOT GONNA CHANGE FOR SOME OLD A** DUDE WHO THINKS RAP IS OFFENSIVE...IF THAT WAS THE CASE THEN RAP WOULD BE GON CUZ IM PRETTY SURE ITS PLENTY OF OLD WHITE DUDES WHO HATE RAP...THIS WAS A WACK STORY GET A LIFE GYANT

Lets make a song called black girls starring a white heavy metal band and see how mad people get.

Wake up people racism goes both ways.

I find it appalling that it took a White male degrading our beautiful females for Us as black people to realize that we (as in African Am's) have been degrading them from jump..Im sure 90% of af. americans has went out to buy a Snoop dogg..2pac album in their lifetime supporting this issue...on another note, the only thing JEEZY will ever be able to do is make a couple of club bangas, He will NEVER have a classic album or even mentioned when he's retired b/c all he raps about is COCAINE and like someone said earlier Gimmicks dont last long..I really hope this group flops...and rappers wonder why Oprah doesnt invite them to her show *shakes head*

Blood Raw, Slick Pulla and The Snowman a.k.a Young Jeezy got the streets on lock, Gyant you a fool for even asking if they got a chance of success, they're already a success, period.

Blood Raw sounds like a name for some extreme anal homo-sex. Blood Raw? Fuck a nigga's asshole until it's bloody and raw? I don't understand...
Slick Pulla? That sounds like the nickname for some kind of jerking-off technique. Instead of jacking your own dick, you get your faggoty boyfriend to stand in front of you, spit on your dick, then start pulling it like he's jerking you. Them are some gay names, man... Then, you got Young Gizzy? I mean, this dude named himself after gizz? That's disgusting. The only "white girl" these niggaz fuck with is their own gay, dripping-out-the-anus semen.

GOOD MORNING AMERICA...

--Matt Herbz--

Everyone wants to crack down on offensive lyrics? I mean WTF why does it take that Don Imus situation to do so. I mean there is hiphop music out without offensive lyrics that dont get radio play so I guess now it can( NAS, MOS, Kweli, etc...) ALL I want to know is it really gonna last though? I say no, too much money involved and money has a way of winning in the end! So all these people talkn bout ban the use of the words nigga, hoes, and bitches get off your high horse now, you all are just doing it for the plub....O yeah its about time Sharpton and Jackson hang it up...this is why our people are still where we at also...they aint nothing but some opportunist where are they when there aint no Imus and 50 shots...What has National Action Network and Rainbow Push done really?

These niggas is clowns. USDA that's some bullshit right there.
Glorifying Drug dealing is fucking up the kids heads and I don't give a fuck what you say. IT"S TRUE.

Young Jeezy can't even fucking rap so fuck it all.

Oh, and a BIG shout-out to my nigga J-Money from the Infamous OC clika. Today is his Birthday and because he ain't no homo nigga like Blood Raw, Slick Pulla, or Young Gizzy, he WILL BE FUCKING SOME PUSSY TONIGHT! Probably a Asian girl or some latina pink from that Venezuelan girl he be fucking wit. Who knows?!

Drinks on the house, my nigga
Stinks are on you, though...

Do ya thang-thang, nigga!

Everyone sing along:

Happy Birthday to you!
Happy Birthday to you!
Happy Birthday J-Money!
Happy Birthday to you!

--Matt Herbz--

IMUS DONE FUCKED IT UP 4 EVERYBODY!
EVER SINCE THIS OLD WHITE FART THAT NEVER LISTENED TO A WHOLE HIP-HOP ALBUM IN HIS LIFE "TRIED TO BE COOL" MISUSING OUR TERMINOLOGIES ITS BEEN AN ON SLAUGHT AGAINST HIP-HOP....AND THATS SOME BULLSHYT!

WTF ever happened to freedom of expression? HIp-Hop was always about being real with yourself and your audience. I'm not even a Jeezy fan but to each his own just cause I don't listen to his music doesn't mean I don't want him to eat he's a young black man tryna get that guap just like me.
But if you want to censor Rap, u gotta censor Rock, Pop, Country, Metal, Reggae, Reggatone, Dancehall, Soca, Calypso, Salsa, Merengue, Techno, etc. etc. etc.

Don't get me wrong I'm all for censorship on the radio and public airwaves but to attack one musical genre(in which the artist are predominently black) is RACISM in its purest form.
Gangstas can't rhyme about guns(50)
Hustlas can't rhyme about drugs(Jeezy)
Pimps can't rhyme about hoes(Snoop)
And women can't call other women bytches(ie Shawna, Remy Ma, Lil' Kim)

Then.....
Marilyn Manson can't promote committing suicide
Pitbull can't rhyme about culo(ass)
Sean Paul can't rhyme about burning(smoking weed)
Rihanna can't sing about cheating

All-in-all this is all bullshyt politics that them crackers are trying to sell as "cleaning up entertainment" and these dumb ass so called black leaders fell for it. Except Russel Simmons thats still my dude. Real TAlk!

BROOKLYN STAND UP!

.

N WASSUP WITH JEEZY HOLDING A CRAWBAR??? BLACK DONT LEARN, HUH?

MATT HERBZ YOU A FAG FOR THAT POST! Why does everyone have to start reading your disgusting fantansies?
On Imus, white men say shit like that on the regular so do black men, asians, middle easterners, & women. Should we say things like that? No, but we all do. So how does this correlate with hip hop? Hip hop didn't cause me to distrust women, an ex girlfriend did. Hip hop didn't slant my view of females, everyday dealings with them did. Before certain women gripe about being disrespected and looked down on, look at yourselves first. Who reading this hasn't heard a woman call herself or another woman a bitch or a hoe? Who hasn't heard a woman admit her life goal is to get with a baller? Is hip hop to blame for this rampant self loathing? If you don't respect yourselves how do you expect men to?

Look Folks! Bottom line- None of them can rap. Its just like every other popular rapper who tries to bring out his crew. They are always WHACK. Jeezy is sooooo basic and the other two are garbage. Thats real talk. This is no hate. Just take away his beats and listen to his lyrics and i bet you will change ur mind about him.......and yeah why the hell is he holding a damn crowbar

Imus did a "Wabbit season/Duck season" like in the old Bugs Bunny chartoons. He was getting roasted for what he said and he needed to get the heat off himself so he said "I did it cause of hip-hop" took a bow, and left. Now people are jumping on hip-hop and he's in talks of getting another show.

If the radios are serious about what they say then I don't expect to hear the song on the radio.

I'm all for censorship if they actually go through with it. But to go through with it, it has to go beyond rap music to other genres and then other media outlets.

Shit like this will get rid of all these gimmick ass rappers..IF a nigga had to change his style up and rap about some other shit,Half these niggas would get NO play whatsoever..I dont think they should ban certain songs or tell rappers what to say,but they should play the positive records as well. Everybody's not from the streets. They've never been in the trap. Some of these rappers havent even been on the block like they claim..People wanna argue that those positive rappers dont sell no records..How would they if u dont play them..Shit most of these "crack" rappers aint selling no records either,so how could it hurt to push some of the positive shit too..

USDA album is gonna be str8. Not expecting a classic, but its for sure gonna ride in the whip. Will it be a success? In todays rap climate where artists are happy to sell 700K, Im sure it will be. Despite his many haters, Jeezy has plenty of fans from coast to coast (stops short of saying street niggas). To the niggas who say all Jeezy raps about is Cocaine, in my opinion Jeezy hasnt had a whole album of coke talk since "Come Shop With Me" Niggas act like Jeezy started this coke rap, or like he was the first one to do it. Im a little young, but didnt Grand Master Flash have a song called white lines back in the early 80's??? Where were all these niggas then who are running they mouths? Oops, I forgot, the Furious Five were from NYC, so its true to the essence of HIP Hop! NEGRO PLEASE!!!!!!!!!!!!! Some of these niggas take shit to seriously, get a life, and get some money. I see why niggas be broke, they worried about the wrong thing

One more thing, if your kids listen to Jeezy and cant tell the difference between a song and real life, then you SUCK as a parent. Dont blame Jeezy and the lyrics, blame yourself for not raising your child right. Your job as a parent is to teach your kids the differnce between the bullshit in the media (radio, tv, movies, magazines, etc) and whats the real world is like. Putting your kids in front of the flat screen and letting BET babysit while you roll up the dro is not being a good parent.

ALL YALL HATIN' ON U.S.D.A JUST AIN'T FROM THE STREETS....THATS WHY YA HATIN'! YOU DON'T KNOW WHAT DA STREETS LIKES YOU NEVER BEEN THERE...MAYBE HEARD ABOUT IT ON T.V. BUT YOU AIN'T FROM THE GUTTER. WHEN DA HOOD SEEZ THEM ON THE COVER IT SHOWS US WE CAN MAKE SOMETHIN' OF OURSELVES OTHER THAN LOOKIN FORWARD TO FED TIME!

IM FROM THE SOUTH AND JEZZY IS OK HE’S NO TI WITH HIS WORD PLAY. I DO LIKE SOME OF IT AT TIMES BUT I AM OLD HEAD AND TO ME HE IS LIKE LIL BOOTSIE AND ALL THEM OTHER PEE-WEE RAPPERS THEY DON’T TALK ABOUT NOTHING BUT DRUGS, MONEY, TRICKS AND OTHER THINGS THAT DO NOTHING FOR ME. IM NOT GONNA PUT DOWN THE GROUP JUST YET MY LIL CUZO SAID THEY OK……...HE’S 12

@ ESSEX

NO ONE STARTED SELLING DRUGS BECAUSE OF DAMN RAP SONG. MOST KIDS THAT START SELLING DRUGS COME UP IN POVERTY. KIDS FROM THE SUBURBS LISTEN TO PLENTY OF HIPHOP, INCLUDING YOUNG JEEZY, BUT THEIR NOT RUNNING TO THE HOOD AND SLANGING ON CORNERS.

CTE WAS GOING TO HAVING A HARD TIME MARKETING THAT SINGLE BEFORE THE IMUS INCIDENT. TRUST ME THE DON IMUS THING WILL PASS OVER IN A FEW MONTHS AND EVERTHING WILL BE BACK TO NORMAL. THE STUPID PART ABOUT THIS WHOLE THING IS THAT ON RADIO EDITS ALL THE WORDS BANNED HAVE ALREADY BEEN REMOVED. SO THAT MEANS BUSINESS AS USUAL. USDA WAS GOING TO HAVE TO SWITCH UP THE SINGLE BECAUSE IT WASN'T GONNA TAKE OFF ANYWAY CUZ ITS NOT HOT ENOUGH.

check out the next big group from the ATL -- B.O.C.

No Grandmaster Flash didn't have no song called white lines. That was some white rock group.
In Fact it was Duran Duran who was a very popular rock group from the 80's

Get your facts straight!!!

@ Eastpoint ATL
Your right! Drug Dealing didn't start because of rap music. Back then It was diffrent.
But nowadays little dudes listen to Jeezy and the likes and think that they can come up off of Coke like their favorite rapper did. It's not gonna happen!!
You don't think that when Rick Ross says he got boats filled with Coke and that's how he came up, that little niggas don't wanna try to do it as well.

I think when B.I.G. said "Either you selling crack rock or you gotta wicked jump shot" He really fucked up the concious of a lot of our bredren.

No Grandmaster Flash didn't have no song called white lines. That was some white rock group.

^^^
This is exactly what Im talking about, niggas like this who take themselves and rap in general to seriously. Grand Master Flash and the Furious Five did have a song called white lines which was about nothing but snorting cocaine. Allow me to search the internet and provide you a link. I'll be right back

Mysoginist lyrics and gang culture glorification is not as offensive if there is a point or a message behind it. Theres a stark creative, relevant difference between NWA or Ice Cube or Pac vs. Jeezy, or DipSet, or Mike Jones. Rap these days makes you want to fight...NWA made me want to FIGHT FOR SOMETHING.

Rappers today just don't get it. They picked up Pac and forgot to carry the message with them.

(I would say they did the same with BIG, but these rhyme schemes are so remedial that they obviously ignored his style).

@ Essex
Look what Ive found bruh!!!

I heard this 1983 song at a nightclub the other night and I went CRAZY! Damn,I had forgotten all about this jam!

"Get higher baby, get higher baby, get higher baby and don't ever come down...Freebase!!"

I love the bass on this song.Anybody else have fond memories of this song, and other early rap songs from this awesome period?

I sorta remember this song (the original). I'm a lot more familiar with the remake that Duran Duran did in the mid 90s. It's rockin!

I bought their other big masterpiece "The Message" the week it came in 1982. I wish I owned the original 12 inch of this one as well. This song in a classic!!! Granmaster Flash And The Furious Five featuring Melle Mel were coming out with one hard hitting jam after another one. Later on in 1982, they released "Scorpio" which was a dance floor classic. We used to get seriously busy out on the floor to that one!!! That one is a lost classic..for sure!!!

But they never made a song called white lines?? Huh bruh???? What did you say?? As we say in the A, "FUCK THAT SHIT THAT YOU TALKIN"

LOL. I'm wit you on this one Zone 4. How someone gonna NOT know GMF made "White Lines".

@ Essex

This nigga actually said get my facts str8, why is it the niggas who always be wrong be the first ones pointing there finger at someone else? This nigga had the nerve to tell me to get my facts str8, when his argument had no foundation whatsoever. These so called "Hip Hop" fans kill me. They dont even know the history they claim to others they know so well. Niggas was rapping about coke in 1983, at least Jeezy raps about selling it, yall niggas rap about snorting it like the broke, no money getting, whiners that yall are.

I've come up with this in my spare time at work on this blog

New York Rap fans= New York Knicks

New York Rap fans are just like the New York Knicks this year in the NBA

Niggas is sorry as hell, but they complain like hoes when the lose. Why you gonna complain cuz you dont wanna play defense? What you mad cuz the other team took advantage and ran the score up on you?

Nigga iz you stupid!

^^^^And you flexin cuz of three niggas who got shot. Nigga all this shit Ive pasted happened in one weekend in my city. So once again as we say in the A "FUCK THAT SHIT THAT YOU TALKIN"

Damn Essex you need to back and learn your hip hop history

Grand Master Flash and Furious Five did have a song called "white lines"

and NO IT WAS NOT GLORIFYING COKE, it was talking about the destructive down fall that coke has caused lives and neighborhoods,

hence the words in the song "don't do it"

then Whodini came out with similar songs about crack takin the potential away from kids - with songs like "all just a part of growin up"

some of yall must be no older than 24.

alot of the problem with hip hop lies in the young cats ignorance of the history of the music.

@ Zone 4 Slim (stunna)
You got me nigga. And I'm 26
I smoke too much cause I forgot about that shit and I just watched Wild Style the other day.

But to save my ass a lil bit.
The premise of the song is the effects of Cocaine on the human psyche. Not the promotion of it's money making cappabilites. There is still a bit
of a diffrence here. Let's just say USDA has no artistic integrity. And GMF and the F5 did.

Nigga we ain't comparing Bodies and unsloved cases, cause 3 niggas got murked last night in my Bourough and it never gonna stop just like every hood in the U.S.
I'm just saying don't act like you the only nigga on here from the hood.

Some of the dirtiest niggas in the projects got DSl nigga.

WHAT'S GOOD SOHH. GOOD LOOK TO THOSE THAT CAME BY AND COMMENTED ON MY BLOG YESTERDAY.

http://cyberthugz.wordpress.com/2007/04/24/the-stop-snitching-movement/

Peace to the Gods!

these dudes don't stand a chance cause Slick pulla and Blood raw is wack as fuck

I always get a kick out of cats claiming their hood is more official because there are more murders on the police blotter, fuxx ing degenerates, as if thats a badge of honor or an accomplishment.

so you live around more low lifes than the other dude, that doesn't make you more of a man. It's kind of unfortunate actually.

Whats even more funny is the brain wash that this society has taught us to admire in that if you want to leave such a place full of dysfunction like the slums then you are an uncle tom for moving out of the hood.

Its nothing more than psychological warfare aimed at the black man to keep him in his place.

and we buy that shyt, hook line and sinker.

Man you niggaz are corny...i cant take it no more. Ya'll arguing about who's hood is harder. There are hoods all over the world you can get popped at. Shut the fuck up you cornballs. Like young buck said "yo hood ain't no harder than mine bitch we all thuggin" So please shut the hell up. Matter fact go to Iraq, and i garuntee ya'll would be pissing on ya selfs. Ya'll talking about gun shots?!! Imagine waliking down the streets and a mortar shell goes off, or betta yet
the car across the street spontaneously blows up. Or somebody run up on you wit a bomb strapped to they waste. WITH THAT BEING SAID, HOW REALLY HARD IS YOUR HOOD?

Shut the hell up and get to the music.

On the real, arguing about whose city is more dangerous is about as ignorant as it gets. Ya'll dudes in the A should be doing something about the violence because the shit is getting ridiculous, too many stupid niggas wit guns.

My wife is from the S.W.A.T's, her family still live there. Last week some dumb ass niggas followed her grandparents(grandpa is a retired professor, civil rights activist, & preacher)to they house and put a gun they heads, talking about "Where's the safe"?? Nigga, these some retired people living off of they Social Security check, they ain't no big time drug dealers, they ain't got no damn safe. Luckily, my wife's grandma was able to convince one of the idiots to let them go and that they didn't have anything, but yeah shit is out of control in Atlanta and it's nothing to be proud of. Niggas kill me when they proudly proclaim they city as the murder capital, like they going to get a medal or something. Everybody think that gangsta is cool until somebody you love get caught up in it.

On the real, our generation is fucked up. Our priorities are ass-backwards and we are squandering the opportunities that our ancestors gave their lives for us to enjoy. As painful as it might be to hear people say critical things about our culture, the majority of it is true.

Until the same people who idolize rappers, drug dealers, and athletes start valuing education and learn how build wealth things will only get worse.

USDA will not do well because they are wack as a group. I think Jeezy had a great machine behind him from the boardroom to the streets. Those factors played a huge role in his success. Hip Hop has survived a lot from the days of NWA to Three Six winning an Oscar so it won’t stop. However the playing field needs to be leveled again. Once upon a time Brenda’s Gotta Baby and Slam could be played on the same network without any problems; those are the days we need to find; Although it will be increasingly difficult with the mentality of most hip hop artists.

I don't think the Imus situation will influence the success and/or failure of the project; maybe the marketing. If anyone has noticed mainstream media has moved passed this issue? We all know that hip hop did not influence Imus’ decision to make those comments. So why can't we move on? What are we going to do if Imus goes to satelite radio? Let's stop playing into the "hip hop" made me do it campaign.

People blog daily about defending their region or favorite rapper yet none of these people have made any official statements. Where is Nas? Jay-Z? 50 Cent? Ludacris? OutKast? They are doing what they do best…them. They don’t give a damn about Hip Hop as a “culture” this is a business. Like all other businesses once you make a profit you sell it. Hip Hop was sold to corporate America via endorsement deals, sponsorships, etc; this all about money not the preservation of a culture. This generation of hip hop artists does not have the same love and admiration for the culture as the pioneers once did. It’s all about MONEY; everyone understands this but black people.

@ Lucas Freez

Of course it's possible for media to inspire and influence, but it's not likely. What a person experiences everyday has way more influence than movies or music. It's not likely that someone is on the right path in life but completely changes after watching a movie or listening to a song. It's a fact that the majority of street level dealers come from poverty. The truth is your idiot friend would have been influenced by anything, and he probably would have made the same decision even if he never seen the movie blow.

@ GYANT

thank you for putting this up, because the Young Jeezy haters needed to Vent. i still find it funny how i asked the question about how people hate young jeezy for rapping about selling dope and love Biggie for rapping about it, i've asked that question for the past 3 days and so far all i can hear is how biggies style, is better than jeezy, when i'm asking about the content of the music and not the style. Anybody?

I dont want to make it a region thang, but most of the people that hate Jeezy are from a diffrent region, and want to see him fail while the rappers from their region that rap about the same subjects to do the same. but niggas wont admit it.

as far as this censor thing, I watched 106 & Park yesterday ( I hardly watch that show, but i seen that they had Russel Simmions on there and i wanted to see what he had to say and not what i red on the net) but what i got out of the interview with Russ was that he want's the record companies who put the music out, to be consistant on how they censor the music that is being sold in Wal-Mart, because depending on what label the album is put out on, you might hear a bitch and a hoe there, but he was also saying that you can go to your mom and pops stores and still get that raw street shit.

and if you agree that the rappers should be censored, buy your music from Wal-Mart... it's that easy.

nothing new or original with this group they might have sucess off the strength of Jezzy but it politics will determine if they are sucessful. these are rappers not MC's anyway...

@why4

clap clap clap - you get it dawg, you get it.

why on earth would somebody be proud that their city has more scumbags than another dude?

silly shyt

I can't remember what song it was, but white people loved it, the hook went something like "I love the cocaine, I love the cocaine." Now aint this a bitch.

We wasn't arguing about whose hood is harder!
We was talking bout Drug talk in Rap.
Using real events to make points.

I got love for everyone on here even though we might clown each other, It's all healthy debate.

Eric Clapton covered J.J Cale's song "Cocaine" back in the 70's... ain't never heard a word about it being a problem... but I did hear it on commercial radio not too long ago. The 70's were on some sh*t....

As for USDA.... marketing will be an issue but I'm not ready to doubt Jeezy's selling ability just yet... dude has another platinum plaque and we all know going platinum is like going double platinum in todays market.

@ Matt Herbz - keep that homo sh*t to yourself son... you talking about it so much like you really got a good idea about some homo sh*t so I'm thinkin' you might be gay or bi-curious... dude brings a whole new meaning to the term 'man up'....
