A3C Independent Hip-Hop Festival Comes To Town!!!

I am not sure if I told you all about A3C Independent Hip-Hop Festival (April 12-14) that’s poppin off later on this week.

If you aren’t aware the festival serves up a diverse lineup of more than two dozen acts. In addition to impressive local and regional artists like Psyche Origami (Friday) and Collective Efforts (Saturday), here are a few other don't-miss acts:

MC and producer "really amazing" because he plays with vocal effects through the microphone.

• Giant Panda (Friday) â€" Urb magazine calls them "a rap throwback." Despite the backward glances, the five-man L.A. crew adds enough sonic modernity to keep things fresh.

• Black Milk (Saturday) â€" A rising talent from Detroit who has crafted memorable beats for higher-profile acts. In a review of his new album, Allhiphop.com said: "Though 'Popular Demand' is a bold title for a relative unknown ... Black Milk proves that without knowing it, you really were craving what he's selling."

• The A3C Independent Hip-Hop Festival is 9 p.m. Thursday-Saturday at the Loft, 1374 W. Peachtree St., in Midtown. Admission is $15 for a single day and $32 for a three-day pass. More info: 404-885-9198.
