SuperFriends President, And Spin Master DJ Mars Talks With SoHH Gyant!

Whose one of the most popular DJ’s other then DJ Drama and DJ Cannon that’s making a serious impact in the industry? I got two words for youâ€"DJ Mars!

Yesterday I sat down to have a chat with the President of the The World Famous Superfriends organization which includes such creative DJ’s like DJ Doc, DJ Tayrok, DJ Shakim, DJ Special T, DJ Mad Linx and Frank Ski. And like any good blogger worth their own salt; I edited the video and got it uploaded for everybody to check out before the weekend hits. Find out more after the jump.

If the name doesn’t sound familiar let me school you a bit on who he is and what he does via the company’s myspace page.

THE WORLD FAMOUS SUPERFRIENDS WAS FORMED IN 1998.WE WERE THE FIRST D.J. ORGANIZATION AROUND ON THE STREETS OF ATLANTA GA.WITHIN THREE YEARS OF HARD STREET, RADIO, AND CLUB WORK, OF ALL THE MEMBERS OF THE SQUAD, WE BECAME THEE TREND SETTERS FOR MANY OTHER SQUADS THAT FORMED AFTER US.NO D.J. SQUAD IN ATLANTA HAS SUCCESSFULLY BROKE AS MANY RECORDS, AS THE D.J.'S OF THE WORLD FAMOUS SUPERFRIENDS.

In a nut shell they’re the shit when it comes to DJing in Atlanta, better yet nationwide!

Our conversation was very candid as the H.N.I.C spoke about everything from the recent Don Imus Controversy, to DJ Drama. We even touched on such hot topics like Hip-Hop’s appearance on The Oprah Winfrey Show, to the negative depiction of women within the most popular culture on the planet.

Mars is currently grinding it out by DJing on not one, but two major pop acts tours (Ciara, and Ne-Yo) and when he’s not doing that he’s spinning on the ones and two’s around this booming metropolitan. Look out for more interviews with members from the super DJ's company in the coming weeks.

Good Look on putting one of Mass' finest out on your spot. I been knowing this cat since house parties in Springfield, MA in the late 80's. been partying with him in the Atl for 16 years strong. You remember how Mars used to have the Chili Pepper in Buckhead popping on Tues nights (when we invaded Buckhead!!!)

They were the first DJ crew in ATL to actually name themselves. There were plenty of DJ crews in ATL before these college kids got to the A. They were just smart enough to apply what they learned in college to their business; so they created a BRAND. Now real talk LOD breaks more records than any clique in ATL. Come on they did not get here til "98" when they registered at CAU. I like these cats but real talk they are a bunch of up north dudes that can DJ. Once again Gyant over the top about some northerns.

They been down here since like 96 cuzzin...I dont know Mars and them to well but they the 1st dj crew i can remember when I got down to the atl in 94...Drama and them been doing it since like 96 when he used to push real mix tape (Cassette Tapes)in the CAU cafe and on the strip in front of the library....but on the real its good to see everybody make it.....It was all a dream a long time ago...

maybe im wrong but wasn't the supafriends a group from v.a. i mean i could have sworn hearing dem rhyme and shit when i was a lil youngin and they spitting lyrics on power 92 and at da park in da westend. if they calling themselves the supafriends then jocking anotha name ain't cool cuzz be orginial da supafriends is a va group
