Even With T.I.'s Help DJ Khaled Cant Take Over!!

Damn everybody calm down! I been getting tons of emails from people pissed off because I hadn’t posted the new video by DJ Khaled feat. TI, Rick Ross, Akon, and LiL Wayne.
I figured that since it was shot in Miami and DJ Khaled is also a Miami DJ (on Power 99), that our Miami blog would have handled this one. But to be honest, I’m not sure if we even have a Miami blog anymore. Do we, yo Miami blog where you at?
Ok, so I wouldn’t be SoHH Gyant if I didn’t speak on some of the issues I have with the track. First off I got to say that Hip-Hop has become soooooooo boring these days. I used to live in Miami so I understand DJ Khaled’s relevance in the industry down there, but I got to say that I’m not all impressed with “Taken Over”.
I know one thing, somebody needs to bash Akon in the damn throat with a hammer so he can’t utter another word on anyone’s track—ever! I know that sounds harsh, and of course I mean that figuratively, not literally, but I can’t begin to tell you all how annoying his voice is. It might as well be claws on a chalkboard as far as I’m concerned.
T.I. knows how much luv I show him, but his verse on this track leaves much to be desired. I just don’t understand his purpose for this song.

All in all I have to say this video, as well as the song, is floppin in a big way. Is it too much to ask for my rappers to come with some original material and/or concepts? If I hear another damn song with a bunch of rappers on it just to be on it, I think I’m going to stop listening to new music and just go back to the classics

This is my first response to a comment on this site,so I'm sure I'm gonna get beat up. Not that anyone of yall asked but in my opinion Khaleds posse records are some of the smarter ones made for a dj album. He puts all the right artists on it and makes it radio and club playable. As opposed to making a record that only lives on mixtapes,his joints exist in the world music market. I can say that because after 2 weeks of releasing it I heard it in a club in Japan. That was before the big corporate push...again guys just my opinion.

As an avid blogger I couldn't have said it better myself. I'm with you 100%. I'm tired of these "super" roster song beging everything but super. Like the Game's 45,000 rapper one blood remix which was one of the most Forgetable songs I've heard in a long time.
P.S. you can't always put Akon on a track and expect a hit, and Lil Wayne is rapping off beat, his first is aight but he neeeds to lay off to vicadins/valiums. Rick Ross needs to get back to Husslin!

Cleveland, NY v. LA, N.Houston v. S.Houston, Miami v. Atlanta, etc.)

I don't think the song is wack, but it's not very moving. It's just an average track, with a couple of "alleged" above average mcs. Contrary to what SOHH Gyant said, I liked Akon on the hook. However, he has been on every damn song lately. If you're going to have an "all-star" (as some people would say) lineup, they need to come with some heat, not mediocre verses. I thought the point of all-star casts and remixes, was to bring different people together to somewhat compete for laying the best verse. It's like when they heard one verse was average, everybody followed behind with an average verse.

Eeehhh the song is aiight...not fiyah but not wack either. To me Akon didn't fit on the track and I probably would've left him off. I think Tip had the best verse. Joe was okay. Not a fan of Rick Ross or Lil Wayne but they was so-so. On the plus side, like some of yall said, it is good to see more unity in the game instead of some tired ass beef that some rappers be using for attention (*cough cough Game cough cough*).
As for the video, it looked waay too much like Hypnotize to the point that I wonder if it was done on purpose (the driving backwards, Joe looking like a Spanish Biggie rockin Versace, etc).
