Gyant, although, it may be true that you could've (or, should've) conveyed your convictions regarding the subject of this blog a little less "divisively", the fact is, you are ENTITLED to your position on the subject matter.

Personally, I'm not sure whether you're hatin on Ludacris with purposeful intention, or, hating on him in general- or, just plain ol' disgusted by his brand of nigga, but (braces for impact) I think I can see where you might be coming from.

Readers, very well, may be missing the point that you're attempting to make because of the superficial appearance of the implications of your words- but, that just may be a testament to the notion that some people aren't as "discerning", or, as "deep" as they like to think that they are. "Preaching-to-the-choir" is, more often than not, a particularly ineffective communique between a speaker and his/her audience..

I can be a whole-hearted fan of any celebrity, while, still being willing to take an objective look at his/her questionable premises of character. Right now, too many of our young, ethnic community are all-too-willing to dismiss history- and it's purest implications about the present- and the future because they are so fascinated with the appearance of success, and, the appearance of notions that seem to support and appease their sense of "fun" and "accomplishment". Ludacris has always seemed to personify the ultimate sense of "fun & accomplishment". He has been tremendously successful at providing his audience (which, is a very large audience) with a measure of "escapism" that, not only entertains them, but, also, drives them to blindly follow his celebrity as if nothing really matters because of it's "fun", "popular", "approachable" and "successful" nature.

Our pop-culture youth generation are soooo desperate and determined to not have to do anything, but, "be young & have fun", that ANYTHING or ANY determined artist could take the advantage of selling them whatever they think they want, or, need to hear/see. Ludacris is no dummy, and, through time-tested experience, has learned how to, virtually, flawlessly, tap into the large crossover hip-hop market. Does that, inherently, make him a Sell-out? NO. But, does that mean that he is, or, should be above character scrutiny and reproach? NO.

Personally-

Do I respect Ludacris? YES

Am I fan? NO

Do I think that a lot of people mistake his professional, pre-rap-career vocal preparation experience for better Lyricism than he really delivers? YES

Do I think that he is a TOP 5 entertainer right now? NO. Top 10? NO. Top 20? Possibly. Top 50? Possibly- and most realistically.

Do I think that he is purely an Opportunist? YES.

Do I think that being an 'Opportunist' is inherently bad? *Depends on what the ultimate Purpose is*.

Do I think that he is completely "square dealing" in his Business Practices? *Don't have enough info to support a strictly negative assessment (he seems to be cool peeps), but, somebody like, Chingy, might have a different opinion.*

Do I think that he should be allowed to follow his own path? ABSOLUTELY- unless ANY aspect of it obstructs the path(s) of any other diligent and dignified brothas/sistas attempting to come up

Why does anyone have to be forced, or, even compelled to take a "side" on the topic?? Sure, if you have decided that there's a particular "side" that you want to be on, then, be my guest and announce your disposition. -But, the idea that there is, or, only should be "this" side or "that" side of an observation is fundamentally flawed at best, and also serves to only divide people needlessly and destructively.

I feel that Gyant's choice of expression was taken a wee bit too far out of it's intended context, and, instead of people taking an objective look at what he mentioned- for what it is worth, they, instead, decided to go on a tirade about their opposition to his reporting protocol. His "reporting protocol" was NEVER the point of this blog!

With that being said, it was as if, potentially, scrutinizing Ludacris for his position in this headline, was an irrelevant consideration next to bashing the observation of the reporter. Hey, there's nothing inherently wrong with dissagreeing with the writer, or, staunchly, expressing your fan-dom or "stan-dom", but, what's the point, if, your position is merely destuctive- as opposed to being objective??? (This goes for whether you're reading Gyant's work- or, any other reporter's.)

Personally, as far as my position on Ludacris is concerned, my words speak for themselves- PERIOD. Just because I'm not taking a stand against a Blog journalist, or, taking a stand with the topic of the blog (Ludacris), doesn't mean that I don't have my own objective opinions regarding both entities. It can be challenging to find Favor and Flaw within the same observation- especially when it's regarding an individual.

To me: Gyant = reconsidering the way he words his approach to his commentary. Ludacris = an undeniably talented, yet, over-rated, but, smartly marketed -with a penchant for manifesting a valuable set of circumstances for himself by strategically being in the "right place" at the "right time".
I feel that too many people, too often, get caught up in the "surface" of the whatever- at the expense of it's substantive value. Some people (i.e.: Ludacris) happen to be adept at, and, more than willing to take advantage of that fact.

I think it's an interesting feature...It gives more people the chance to get views having more featured areas. Im in the US, but I found more interesting videos to me, were featured on the UK homepage so I did have it set to that for a few days, but then I changed it back.
