Chopper City Out On Bail!!!

Where in the hell have I been? Has anyone else heard about this shit?

Kevin Barnes, Jr., also known as "Chopper" and "Young City" from MTV's Making the Band Season I & II posted $100,000 bail on Aggravated Assault charges in Gwinnett County, Georgia last week (week of 2/26/07). Young City's new record label, Diamon-Cut Ent., posted the $100,000 bond and through its legal representative Julian Sanders, was instrumental in mounting a defense to what many feel are baseless and frivolous charges. Young City, in a show of sincere gratitude, commented,

"Diamon-Cut came through for me when it seemed I had no way out. I felt like 'Tupac' being rescued by Death Row Records. That's what family is for. I gotta ride for those who rode for me. Diamon-Cut is where I'm at, and Diamon-Cut is where I will always be!?"

In response to the aggravated assault charges, Mr. Sanders said, "

Mr. Barnes looks forward to being swiftly exonerated from all allegations." Diamon-Cut Ent., through its super-producer Dwain "Kochese" Warren, is responsible for Yung Joc's platinum hits "I Know U See It" and "Patron."

Though a lot of people hated on “Da Band” I really enjoyed Chopper’s flow and thought that we would go far. Even after the “reality group” dismantled, I still had high hopes for the brutha. But after a few arrests and no new music, at least none I’ve heard. It looks like ole dude is about to fall into obscurity

Does anyone think that Young City can come back and make a name for himself in Atlanta?

off the bat, I rep bmore all day. I'm not from A-town. But, I will say this much. I really liked Chopper's flow while on da band. I will say this much, start givin' me some good music and stay out of trouble. thats not cool to me. trying to stay up in the clubs all the time, how many hoes you got, how much you spending on jewels, etc. just make good music. if you not doing that, then stay out the industry.

Y'all don't know what happened? I heard this fool was up in a Publix over here in Gwinnett and he was trying to buy a six-pack of Tequiza or Zima or something. Anyway, he thinks he's so fly, that he just walked through the self-checkout area without scanning his shit. He dropped a $20 bill on the register and just kept walking. The cashier didn't know who he was and said, "Excuse me, sir, you have to ring your own items up in self-checkout, plus I have to check your ID." Then dude said, "Hey nigga, ain't you know me from da band? You know I be 21 and you know I ain't gonna scan shit!" Then the cashier said that he didn't know who he was and that he still had to see some ID. Chopper gets all mad and shit and takes a Zima bottle out and swings it at the cashier, busting it all over homey's head. THAT is how he was arrested...

I think he can do well for himself if he has learned a valuable lesson...yes he was very immature but he did have talent...not to mention I still like dude from an episode of Making the Band when they were in the D for a fundraiser called "Coats For Kids"...out of all the band members, Chopper was the only one who donated money, everybody else was talkin bout, I'm not giving shit...so the youngin gets a pass from me...good luck 2 him...

1st of all honey U don't know me, second of all calling me ignorant is funny becuase I have 2 degrees and I am working on #3. The point I was trying to make is that we have(or had) a unique city and you cannot flauge and claim the city if you aint from there.That may work anywhere else , but not in the boot.Young City's grandmother was from UPT New Orleans , he is from B-more I live in College park, GA , and have been living there since I graduated from college , but I don't represent the A. I love the A , but Gentilly Woods , NOLA East is my home.That was my only point i was trying to make, you are trying to make it to another situation.If that's how you feel or you want to get on a long winded convo on semantics , do what you do pimpin. Do that by yourself.

Unfortunately Babs is too fugly to sell(sorry it's true) and there's nothing special about Ness. Diddy be doin all of that reality TV shit for him, so America can see him make some young kids walk to Brooklyn from Midtown NYC to get him some cheese cake only to not be around when they get back, I'll never forget that shit.
