Usher must have an album coming out or something. The AJC just reported that the prince of Atlanta wasn’t being so majestic last Fourth of July as he was ticketed for blazing 103 mph in a 70 mph zone while cruising through Bartow County. Appearing before Probate Court Judge Mitchell Scoggins, the performer was fined $425 and given 20 hours of community service that he can perform closer to home in north Fulton.
If I find out that he is sentenced to street sweeping or any other “common” service, I will be there with my camera to bring you all his humbling reactions.
With Atlanta picking up the way that it has, I’ve decided to do another weekly feature called “Sohh Gyant’s Top 5 Questions”. It’s designed to be funny inquiries about the week’s biggest events, or stories in Atlanta. With so many things poppin off in this city there is so many things to inquire about. Here I go, I hope you enjoy.
1. What in fuck were DJ Cannon and DJ Drama thinking? There’s stupid, and then there’s these two. From what I understand these kats had taken the entrepreneurial bootlegging to the Internet. They were even advertising, who does that?? Every bootleg CD I have ever purchased was from a spot that I either stumbled upon myself, or heard about from a homie of mine. We are just barely into the New Year and I can already see these two fools being atop many hip-hop magazines “Biggest Losers” of the year. Tyree, you better hope they don’t throw the book at you. I'm sure you know what will happen to you in prison homie. If not, might I suggest an episode of HBO's prison drama "OZ"!
2. Why is R.Kelly in town this week? And more importantly, why aren’t people demanding for his extradition back to Chicago. R, I’m not sure if you got the memo but we don’t do child molesters here. Or do we??
3. Is anyone else surprised that V103’s popular traffic reporter, Elle, has a very unflattering backside? She is after all just another white girl whose down.
4. Why in the hell does Atlanta radio Hip-Hop keep playing that damn “DreamGirls” soundtrack every other song? I saw the movie, and I can give the cast their props, but I don’t want to be hearing that shit on the radio while I’m driving down Peachtree. You cant holla at girl with Jennifer Hudson singing “And I’m Telling You” in the background. That’s definitely Gay!
5.Keith Sweat partied it up while listening to the Ying Yang Twins last week at Club Fever. And by the look of this picture, its either drugs or age. I say a little bit of both. What do you think?

Anyways, the situation with Drama and Cannon is suspect at best. I mean really, who bootlegs their OWN stuff? I'm not saying that they don't get their hustle on but these dudes, especially Drama, live and breathe mixtapes, I just have to think that they are smarter than that. If this gets into a serious investigation, a lot of heads at the major labels are gonna be shown to be the root of this type of stuff.

Gyant, you can't go thru life being an ass you know. You're entitled to your opinion, but what you said about Drama and Cannon was not cool. Tell me you have never bought or bumped a Gansta Grillz CD or any mixtape for that matter? The RIAA is looking for any way to try and boost record sales, but arresting mixtape DJ's is not going to make the record buying public rush to Best Buy for CD's. We need to look at the wider ramifications that can come from this situation. Will the RIAA arrest DJ's who throw another artist over someone else's beat and spin it at the club? Are DJ's who spin mixes on your local radio stations supposed to be criminalized too? I own tons of Gansta Grillz CD's and mostly everything is original music sanctioned by the artists who appear. It seems to me that the problem is the RIAA and the record labels want in on every music related profit that has to do with their artists and mixtapes are taking money out of their pockets so they're pissed. Bootleggers definitely hurt artists and that's a bad thing, but Drama and Cannon don't fit the bill for bootlegging.
