What’s da deal everybody?
Today, we are taking a break from "Atlanta’s Own". So many things happened this week in Atlanta I got to give you the entire scoop on who did what, where, and how.
Wednesday night, Atlanta’s Top Tier entertainers touched down at popular hot spot Atlantic Station for the highly anticipated "steppin" feature film "Stomp The Yard".
If you haven't heard what this movie's about, read the quick film synopsis below:
After the death of his younger brother, a troubled 19-year-old street dancer from Los Angeles is able to bypass juvenile hall by enrolling in the historically black, Truth University in Atlanta, Georgia. But his efforts to get an education and woo the girl he likes are sidelined when he is courted by the top two campus fraternities, both of which want and need his fierce street-style dance moves to win the highly coveted national step show competition.

If you aren’t aware, Atlanta is slowly becoming the new Hollywood. Tyler Perry films all his extremely successful "Madea" movies in the "A". Matthew Mac filmed the holiday movie "We Are Marshall’s" here, and now we can add "Stomp The Yard " into the mix.
This new movie, which features today’s most popular and sought after entertainers’ like Chris Brown, Ne-Yo, Megan Good, and the new up and coming star Columbus Brown, is sure to be a hit with fans.
Stomp The Yard hits theaters today. Check your local listings.

Move over DTP, because Grand Hustle is doing big things. They managed to grace the pages of XXL , which in my opinion is the Hip-Hop Vogue magazine. The cover features The King T.I. and his Grand Hustle artists Young Dro, DJ Drama, B.G. and Big Kuntry (whose steady girlfriend is Atlanta’s Hot 107.9's Mz. Shyneka). The issue is on stands now.
I know Atlanta can get crunk over the MLK weekend but let’s not forget what this weekend is truly about. It’s not all about the clubs, the women, or the social scene entirely. It’s about recognizing Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. with all his accomplishments and his life. Take sometime to check out what Atlanta has organized for the true King of the South.
