What’s up Family?

I got some quick news on Pastor Troy....

Rapper Pastor Troy was arrested by Atlanta police Friday morning on an alleged probation violation in Fayette County.

My sources confirmed to me that the 29-year-old performer, whose legal name is Micah Levar Troy, was doing a radio interview with Hot 107.9 radio station when a snitch called police to say that he was wanted on the Fayette warrant.

Troy, a College Park native, is best known for his dividing mixture of religious themes and the decidedly secular concerns of hardcore rap culture.

Officers went to the Hot 107.9 studios on Marietta Street and detained Troy until Fayette County deputies arrived shortly before 9 a.m. and took him into custody. A snitch will do it to you every time.

Developing…..(when I know more y'all will know more).

I hope everybody had a good weekend, I know I did. With all the drama of last week I needed some time to relax. I see nobody really paid attention to my new weekly series â€" Atlanta’s Own â€" where I put four unsigned artists from Atlanta on this page for everybody to show your love(or hate) for. Y’all was too busy worrying about The Snowman that you completely missed out on some hot tracks from local rappers who are trying to do their thing. So, since you all missed it on Friday I’m running it again today. Take the time to show your local boy’s some love. Oh and by the way, with all the overwhelming male responses I got, I just wanted to shout out the ladies too. Ideally I want this to be a mixture of Atlanta’s male, and female MC’s. So to all my lyrically laced females out there; submit your shit my way so we can see what you got.

SOHH.COM'S ATLANTA'S OWN IS FINALLY HERE!!

The time is finally here. Today kicks off the debut of Sohh.com’s “Atlanta’s Own” â€" A weekly series that will showcase the hottest and most innovative Atlanta artists.

When I decided to put together this weekly showcase, I knew that it would be an explosive and innovative idea. With all of Sohh.com’s readers who log on daily to check out what’s hot in hip-hop nationally, regionally, and locally, it seemed like a natural progression for all of Atlanta’s unsigned talent to get massive exposure from arguably one of the hottest spots oh the planet â€" Sohh.com’s Atlanta blog.

The biggest movers and shakers in the record business check out Sohh.com on a daily basis. So you never know who’s gonna hear what you got to spit. And you better trust and believe that only the hottest tracks and tightest MCs will get put on. If it’s not hot â€" you won’t hear it. Period!

With such an overwhelming response, I chose four songs by three artists that I thought were just right to bust this shit out the gate. Check out your Atlanta’s Own artists below. But don’t forget, if you got something hot, send it my way. SohhGyant@Sohh.com

1. Bless McFlyBLESS MASKED UP.jpg

Growing up, Bless McFly experienced the best of both worlds. He was born and raised in the rough city of the Bricks until he and his family moved down south; first to South Carolina and then to Atlanta, GA. Understanding that the music business is more than just writing and recording songs, McFly also holds a love and compassion for performing and showcasing his talent to the world. He has a fly swagger and great confidence that can be seen when he graces the stage. BLESS McFLY- “I’M DOIN IT”
-------------------------------------------------------------------
2. DAT DAMN DROOP. Check out his track, DAT DAMN DROOP Feat. THE BISHOP EDDIE WONG- "CERTIFIED CRUNK SHIT" here.
-------------------------------------------------------------------

3. G-Life1082004401_l.jpg

With a raw and uncut universal voice, and musical influences such as Tupac and Scarface, Atlanta's Own G-Life paints vivid pictures of everyday living in urban America. With songs like "Damn" and "LA LA," G-Life shows his ability to make club bangers. Revealing he is no stranger to the street underworld, he divulges the game in "Swap it Out." And with "100 years/War Message," he also proves he is never afraid to tackle political views, and teach the youth something outside of everyday conversation. Check him out as he responds to Beyonce's "Irreplaceable" G-LIFE- “REPLACE YA” -
-------------------------------------------------------------------

4. V.I.S.U.A.L. aka D.N.A.

D.N.A entered the music scene in May of 1998. His common goals are to share his real life experiences along with his trials and tribulations. He was recently part of the 2005 Vans Warped Tour, and will be participating in other music endeavors. Be on the lookout for this up and coming artist because he has a lot to offer. V.I.S.U.A.L. is trying to restore hip-hop to what it once was -- Real hip-hop. He's ghostwritten for various underground acts that are up and coming like himself. Give his track a listen. V.I.S.U.A.L. AKA D.NA.-"NEVA GONNA CHANGE"

Yo if you think you got that fiyah then send your tracks my way. SohhGyant@Sohh.com

For a brutha who doenst live in Atlanta this new rapper has been getting a lot of love here in the “A”. Rich Boy hails from Bama, and though he’s not an official “Atlanta MC”, I think he’s proven himself worthy to be affiliated with sohh’s weekly video pick. His sound is reminiscent of vintage Cash Money, the albums Fresh-produced first single, D-Boyz, is Richs attempt to put the Souths other A on the hip hop map. With a country-fried flow and buoyant beats tailor-made for any strip club, Rich Boy has all the makings of a modern-day hot boy. Even Fresh admits to a bit of dj vu when working with him. It rekindles that old feeling, he says. An artist like Rich is a breath of fresh air

Hip-Hop quote of the day…

I love hip-hop, because you can do this like that and still be super successful! You ain't gotta hold your tongue

Love you all like the new Velvet Room out in Chamblee.

Unitl tomorrow,

He had the "HIP HOP TRACK OF THE YEAR"

that rich boy song is the shit

I was hot wit Rich Boy for a minute for wasting a classic Switch sample, but I cant front, the song is kinda tight.

Gyant, good looking on the Rich Boy! I'm glad my Alabama people are starting to get some of the spotlight.

If anyone is wanting some more Rich Boy go grab his Gangsta Grillz mixtape.

What up ATL?

1. Bless Fly - pretty good track - sounds somewhat like Weezy and that's a good thing.
2. Dat Damn Droop - nice rhyme but if the bass line harder - this is crunk music and if I am gonna beat it then I want it to sound like the speaker is about to explode outta my car and at the club.
3. G-Life - hillarious...lol I can see the fellows loving that 'right back atcha' track.
4. VISUAL- like the slow methodic production sounds like wind instrutments - the rhyming is okay

Rich Boy I love the throwbackk to the ol skool - pretty good.

TIP can't do no wrong in my eyes. He is a hustler and I can't wait for "American Gangster" -

Pastor Troy - probably public relations stunt.

Alright Sohh Gyant - that is from a female perspective so I love you Red Velvet Cake with glass of milk!

Peace out ATL!

Pastor Troy is Next to BLow..is he signed with cash money?

It was T.I.'s year. I'm gonna pick up that Grand Hustle as soon as it drops. I'm feelin that Rich Boy track I'm glad to see other Southern states emerge. I wonder what going on with Davis Banner these days? I love the A like cobbler and ice cream.

First heard that Rich Boy shit about 2 months ago and it was fire!!! I played it for some niggas and they was like, nah, but now....you know how niggas can be late on shit!!! Does anyone remember or know the name of the song that Fresh sampled at the start of the song with the woman talking???

Oh yeah I hope this a PR stunt for Pastor Troy. I remember coming out the the locker room gettin hype to "We Ready" before we took the field.

I love the rick boy track, i miss nukkas just having fun with a song. When they enjoy it, it comes from the heart and usually comes out nice. This song has a classic verse "Every bitch should have a picture of my dick, on they wall" lol funny as hell. Rich boy went to college as well. Tuskeegee in Alabama for Mechanical Engineering. I wish dude success, if you read up on him in Allhiphop.com, he says his music reflects everybody and not just the thugs.

Dog, 95% of the folks that be on this blog is too simple minded to think outside of what everybody else is talkin on. This blog ain't neva gonna be nothin more than the same old circle of discussion that "is" hip hop. And that's these ignant lil "beefs" that go on.

If you want these folks to even maybe talk about what you want them to talk about...you gotta keep it simple. One topic, one new artist at a time. Other than that, every blog on this site ends up bein about the same old thing homey.

No disrespect to you, no disrespect to those one and two people that don't fall in that category...but you see the pattern homey.

That's why I be on here speakin truth. And straight up...I ain't check none of them artists. I ain't into secular hip hop...Christian Hip Hop is comin...and I'm lettin 'em know, it's time to change this situation from the inside out. I'm talkin about the heart firs, the minds. Like they said.."free yo mind and the rest will follow". Other than that...it's all just the same ole same ole. Time to break that mold, and make a new one.

Christ bless!

Oh no you didn't Doc, LOL...not feeling the Rich Boy, seems as if I've heard it all before somewhere...

As for my boy PT, I'm hoping this wasn't a publicity stunt because at this point in the game what does he have to gain by doing that?

I thought Rich Boy's song was whack when I first heard it. But I live in the A, and have heard it enough times to start liking it ;)

I like that beat to that rich boy track even though he's not sayin much an he looks like TIs basehead twin brother but the beat still bangs.

That L. Vatton/Bapes/any designer bandana over the face thing that Wayne bit from Pharell aint even gangsta at all. Wait until MayorOfLA sees that. lol

Also i cant ride 24s an up bcuz i have coups an it would be impossible to turn an chrome rims are played out an weigh your car down so real niggas ryde black on black or on alloys bcuz we ryde fast an those are the lightest rims...plus fancy rims draw to much unwanted attention from broke niggas an the cops
That game for free right there

I'm feeling the N8gga spitting on verse two riding around with the car full of white girls!!!! And these nuccas are from ALabama!!!! U gotta love it!

HELL YEA RICH BOY GOES HARD ALL DAY? PUTTIN IT DOWN FOR MOB-TOWN. WE SEE YA.

on "step your game up " dvd magazine 40 cal said he dropping album the" indie" route and he's on skeem team records , he said there no hard feeling but right now he trying to get a buzz that he cant get where he's at now
and says him going a seperate route and becoiming a mega star will ultimatly help dip set in the long run
" this album is a problem my dude, you never heard anything like this since ummm... i dont know but its on the same scale as the chronic. wu tang's first joint , i steped up my game tell me one rapper that thoughts are as deep as mine, this shit makes nas illmatic look like a chingy cd" 40 cal chuckles "the last great cd that was on the level of this was maybe great rich or die trying "
"but (fif) was as cleaver as me"

and how jim jones and camron ignored basicly ignored his calls and did not ride for him with his beef with loon
jimmy quoted as saying " that beef has nothing to do with me "
that when he knew it was time to look out for number 1
" i got niggas coming to me in the street like 40 "you the nicest in the set"
people asking me why im not a top friend on anu of there myspace pages
i shruggs it off
i tell them "gangstas dont be on myspace "
40 cal also say he did not recieve one check from his various features on diplomatic projects
"everybody ballin but when i make my crispy get fresh video it wont be low budget with green screens or throwing ones(1's) in the air "
"a emcee of my caliber is capable of going 3 or 4x times plat with the right promtion" 40 cal claimed with that many mc's in the one crew it will be hard for him to get the shine he deserve " right now its maybe 3 or 4 rappers that write hit records like i could"
he also say he coming out with a clothing line
" dont expect no purple/pink or fushia shit i was never wit that, i dont get fashion tips from the village or elton john / this will be hustlers wear for all my dudes on the block grinding "" i never seen a thug in a ed hardy shirt , on my block we grindin were not trying to be noticed by the boys were trying to blend in with concrete" all i know is about harlem the sewer the gutter niggas get murdered everyday even the pigs are killin niggas
"imagine if you would of seen tupac or biggie or even al capone wearing a tigh ass bright t-shirt with glitter and hearts on it would you label them a gangsta or give crediablity to there music " but he insist this not a jab at his dipset cohorts
his new album will feature a host of up and coming harlem duo smoke & numbers " there like new york version of outkast but without the gay looking outfits"
40 did not rule out with working with his former diplomat family in the future
he says he have nothing but love for his fam , but even family needs seperation sometimes
