SOHH.COM'S ATLANTA'S OWN IS HERE!!
SOHH.com's "Atlanta's Own" â€" A weekly series that will showcase the hottest and most innovative Atlanta artists is back. With the incredible response I got from last weeks debut, I know we doing BIG things. Check out your local talent! Show your love or (hate) for the up and coming hip-hop rookies.
When I decided to put together this weekly showcase, I knew that it would be an explosive and innovative idea. With all of Sohh.com's readers who log on daily to check out what's hot in hip-hop nationally, regionally, and locally, it seemed like a natural progression for all of Atlanta's unsigned talent to get massive exposure from arguably one of the hottest spots on the planet â€" Sohh.com's Atlanta blog.
The biggest movers and shakers in the record business check out Sohh.com on a daily basis. So you never know who's gonna hear what you got to spit. And you better trust and believe that only the hottest tracks and tightest MCs will get put on. If it's not hot â€" you won't hear it. Period!
With such an overwhelming response, I chose four songs by three artists that I thought were just right to bust this shit out the gate. Check out your Atlanta's Own artists below. But don't forget, if you got something hot, send it my way. SohhGyant@Sohh.com

1. AL Gator ~ http://www.zshare.net/audio/1211-al-gator-the-mighty-g-u-better-ask-about-him-mp3.html
Groomed and nurtured on the usage of similes and metaphors, Hip-Hop has drastically strayed away from the art of Mic control. The days where it was the MC that held your attention have all but been eradicated. Lyrics have been substituted for hot beats and outlandish dances. But there is a glimmer of light at the end of a long tunnel; one that has seen very little illumination this century and the individual holding the torch is Atlanta's own, Al Gator.
Alden 'Al Gator' Portress was raised on the infamous streets of College Park, which have birthed some of Atlanta's most distinguished Hip-Hop brethren. Initially he started working in music production and shortly after taking that path, Gator joined a collective called Playaz Circle, which now is more commonly known to the masses as DTP. This affiliation enabled him to sharpen his writing skills and dedicate time to studying the art of emceeing and comprehend exactly what being a true lyricist entailed.

2. Fluid ~ http://www.zshare.net/audio/fluid-up-all-night-mp3.html
Fluid joined the Money-4-Life family during a recent citing with D-Money, the two were good friends in high school, lost contact for awhile. Eventually re-uniting over the summer of 2006'.
Hailing from the same San Diego streets of fellow M-4-L rapper Treez, Fluid, aka Indiana Jones, first appeared on D-Money's 2006 debut mixtape and subsequently continued to make cameos with other M-4-L artists/affiliates.
Following D-Money, Fluid began the M-4-L Movement, beginning with D-Moneys' album of the name "I'm Not A Rapper". Fluid played an important role in this M-4-L era, being second only to Treez as D-Moneys' right-hand man. Fluid's debut album, (Exposed), will appear in early 2007 on Money-4-Life Records

3. Suthernfolk ~ http://www.zshare.net/audio/on-deck-mp3-mp3.html
From the crumps of the fast food struggle, to the cheese of the American rat race, to the doe of the American crime scene, Grindaz exist on and off the radar. Grindaz are the biggest parts of you and I, and Suthernfolk is for Grindaz. Suthernfolk was born Jack Brown in Albany, GA, and reared in Boston, GA. His knack for grindin' began in high school where he got kicked out of his first school for grindin' a little to hard against the grain. It was at his second high school where the first roots of Suthernfolk began to form. He started making recording on a small tape recorder with a group of rappers at the school, recordings they were all very proud of at the time. "We would record a beat on one tape and play it in the background and record lyrics and verses over it on other tapes until we were done...The quality was shot but that's all we knew back then."

Remember to comment on your favorite artists. Also, if your interested in submitting music on one of the hottest blogs on the planet I need bios and pics along with your music. Any submissions sent without bio's or pictures will not be considered.
Make sure you spread the word on Atlanta's Own. It's not just a showcase, it's a new artists movement.
I not only wanted to showcase lyrical skills but also continue to drop knowledge on the hiphop community. I'm looking to elevate through my music, and through my music I educate.
