What’s up Family? Y'all getting this Atlanta Blog poppin and that's exactly why I took this job! I knew we weren’t being represented right. No disrespect to the kat who held this down before me, but it is what it is.

Yo we got a lot of shit to talk about today, let’s set this muthafucka off!!!

Young_Buck.jpg

Can you say “major fuck up?” G-Unit member Young Buck has fucked up big time by getting into an altercation with beloved Hot 107.9's DJ Will. I heard about this a few days ago but I wasn’t there so I didn’t want to start running off at the mouth about shit I didn’t see first hand. That’s got to be a first for me.

No matter what you may have heard about this story we got the official word from a number of sources over the incident. A lot of people say that SOHH.com hates on G-Unit, but you can see by their crazy as ways that they are their own enemies. Everybody knows that you don’t piss off the DJ because they are your life when you’re a musical act. . I don’t give a damn if a DJ spits in your face. You suck that shit up and look at the bigger picture â€" you need him more then he will EVER need you.

What’s poppin fam? OK first things first. I’m assuming that we are all hip-hop heads around this bitch. We all know the albums before T.I.’s Urban Legend don’t count and that’s why I didn’t mention them (though the blog was changed later to appease the whiners). Y’all some touchy muthfuckas and I love that shit. If I got to break shit down like y’all don’t know your hip-hop then I will but, I’m talking to y’all like y’all my peoples.

And with that said, I didn’t think that I would have to give you the history of shit. But it’s a lesson learned. When you assume shit you make an ass out of you right? From this point on I will give you the back history and type all that shit out for everybody aiight? We straight on that now?!?

Yo! What's up with the comments yesterday did anybody stop by to check ya homeboi out? What's up with that family? I got that fiyah for you today lets get into it.

I love a dude on his grind and T.I. is for damn sure on his. My home girl Sandra at SandraRose.com put me on to this new information. Atlanta's own rap superstar T.I. just closed on a $4.3 million home on the Southside of Atlanta today. According to the property listing, the three-story six-bedroom, eight-bath mansion sits on 1.7 acres offering stunning lake views, a swimming pool, dock and boathouse. The interior boasts a two-story foyer, cathedral ceiling, banquet dining room with separate dining area, master suite with mahogany paneled study, nursery, custom gourmet kitchen with double ovens, keeping room & fireplace, exercise room and indoor theater.

What's da deal family? I hope everyone had a good holiday. Shout out to Ryan Cameron , who I heard had a slamming "15th Annual Ryan Cameron Celebrity Bowling Challenge" this year. Yung Joc, and most of the Block Entertainment family were in attendance. I must have gotten my invitation lost in the mail right Ryan? Nah, but for real though, it was a good look for the kids!

Poppin or Floppin: Jeezy's "I Luv It"

What it is fam? Damn y'all a touchy bunch of kats aren't you? The response from yesterday's post was mixed but, still very over whelming. I make no apologies for what I say. I speak the truth, and my point in that entire article, which most of you missed, was that Outkast needs to cut the bullshit and just do their own solo thing, and stop LYING to us like they are still reppin things together. Oh and by the way, R.I.A.A. awards plaques for units shipped, not SOLD!!

outkast.jpg

Why Big Boi and Andre 3000 are playing this "we still a group" bullshit is beyond me. A few months ago they released that bullshit ass IdleWild soundtrack, which failed to sell 500k copies (I speak the truth, check billboard.com). All the while they were denying rumors of a split between them, yet they didn't film one video together and if they did, I didn't see it!

What's good family? That's right I called you all "fam" because you drop by this spot daily and show me love or hate just like a real family does.

I want to take this moment to officially introduce myself, my name is LT A.K.A. SohhGyant and I got the official word from the headz of sohh.com that because of each and every one of you, they want me reppin the Atlanta blog from this point on. It couldn't have happened without you all dropping by and reppin the hottest city on the muthafuckin planet â€" "ATLANTA!!"

I am the owner and operator of an already well known and established website O1LT.com â€" which is a complete interactive urban entertainment website. I bring you what's "Hot and Black" Mon-Fri in black entertainment. Over there, it's a lot different from here, because on that end I'm the H.N.I.C. but, over here I got bosses. Buts it's cool!!

Take the time to get to know me because I'm for damn sure going to take the time to get to know all y'all. I read the comments daily and the funniest ones will get posted from time to time.

So without further adieu â€" let's get into this shit hard. I'm bringing the heat from the muthafuckin beginning.

Nas and Kelis.jpg

So what did you all think about BET's first Hip-Hop Music Awards? I am very interested in your thoughts and opinions. I have already spoken on how I felt about the show. Watching it last night didn't make me feel any different. But there's one thing I just can't ignore. What was up with Katt Williams opening monologue addressing Jay-Z and Beyoncé as "King and Queen" and Nas and Keilis and "Prince and Princes" what kind of bullshit is that?

And now that I think about it â€" where the hell was Nas?? I knew somebody major was missing but I couldn't put my finger on it!!!

I'm Moving to Atlanta

That's it. I'm packing my bags and moving my ass down to Atlanta. I've only spent three days there and fell in love several times over. Ha! The city must have made quite an impression on me if I wanna move without having been to a strip club.

I'm allergic to poultry, so I was glad to not see any birds in the A. I mean, I assume that they can be found everywhere, but I just didn't encounter any during my stay. I came in contact with nothing but friendly, well-mannered women down there, from the diner waitresses to the local BET freelancers. Busted chicks were quite scarce.

BET Awards Shut Out Female MCs

REMYMARTIN.jpg

My man Frank Ski of V103 made a very good point the other day on "The Frank Ski and Wanda Morning Show." He talked about how disappointed he was with the Hip Hop Awards 2006 â€" particularly its lack of inclusion of female MCs. It’s funny he mentioned it because that's also one of the first things I noticed. They didn't have one female rap category, nor did they have any female performers. NYC rapper Remy Martin echoed mine and Frank's thoughts while being interviewed in the media tent during the taping of the show. I got inside word from an executive producer of the show who said the ONLY reason why there were no visible female rap participants was because the BET Music Awards had categories that were specifically for the ladies. My response to that is â€" "that's bullshit!!"

The A Ain't Goin Nowhere!

Before any of you slam me about not knowing anything, let me agree with you. I don't know jack about Atlanta or the south. I'm a New Yorker in the A for the BET Hip-Hop Awards and I've been walking around looking lost since I got here. But let me tell you one thing I know, Atlanta ain't going nowhere. Artists and execs from other regions have been saying things go in cycle, saying that the A now has their time to hold the crown. Well, actually anybody hoping to clinch the top spot will have to share it with A-Town.

What's da deal everyone? It’s LT, again. I appreciate all the love/hate that was shown towards my first post. To the ones that expressed love â€" I appreciate you. To the ones who expressed hate â€" I really appreciate it. You're gonna love what I bring soon enough â€" trust!

I have to address Gerald Levert’s sudden death. By now, I am sure you all know that one of R&B’s pioneering, top tier artists and performers died on Friday, Nov. 10. Gerald suffered a massive heart attack in his Ohio home while he was sleeping. I send my prayers to the Levert family â€" especially his daughter, Carlisia, who lives here in the “A.”

Ok. now that that’s out of the way, we have to talk about all that went down in Atlanta this weekend. The theme all around Atlanta was “parties, parties and more parties.” Big Tigger, T.I., Michael Vick, Nelly, Def Jam, and many more were poppin bottles and throwing mad dough into the local economy. Hip-hop didn't just show up it showed out!!

Attention, ladies, skrippers, freaks and hoes:
I don’t want you to just survive the BET awards show this weekend, but rather, to thrive. So from the kindness in my heart, I’ve compiled the following list of DOs and DON’Ts:
(And yes, a lady can get paid this weekend. skrippers freaks and hoes are bound to come out with a better bottom line, but ladies can still get paid.)

Please adhere …

Katt.jpg

Katt Williams is a funny motherfucker. He's probably one of the most talented comedians we've seen in at least the last decade, respect to Dave Chappelle. In my opinion, dude stands among the ranks of Richard Pryor and Eddie Murphy at his height. I'm talkin about the "Raw" era, not his fairly recent descent with kiddie movies, i.e. "Daddy Daycare" and the like. But I'm getting off-topic. So Katt is a funny motherfucker, right? Dude can even spit. He's down with Dipset and has an album coming out. So why is he FUCKING UP!?

luda.jpg

Atlanta based rapper Ludacris has inked a development deal for a TV show with MTV. The deal is with MTV’s new teen-based network, The N, to star in and produce a new series entitled, "Halls of Fame." The show will also be produced by Dallas Jackson and Amani Walker.

For all of you who can't let it go, let's put this to rest once and for all ...

Jeezy.jpg

One of ATL's hip hop golden boys may be rolling out soon with some of the big wigs. On Hot 97 a few days ago, Jay talked about wanting to do a tour here in the US. And of course he named Jeezy to jump on and rep the south. Folks have been buzzing for a few days on whether a tour like this could fill up arenas across the country. And y'all already know ticket sales will be crazy. So supposedly the only thing holding Hov back from solidifying this domestic tour is the doubt that it won't sell out. Everybody on the tour's album is dropping November/December, so a January tour date is supposedly being looked at. The real question here is can Jeezy hold his own in a lineup like this? Regardless, having the south repped in something like this is some good shit. But can Jeezy hold it down?

Ya boy Renny Rugah (who?) got nominated for Best Video of 2006 at the Atlanta Hip Hop Film Festival for this joint. I have no fucking idea what the voting panel had to choose from, but enjoy ...

Ludacris-Posters.jpg

A lot of people have been trashing ATL for the snap music heatwave that lasted for *snap* this long, and that vulgar Reckless character has done his best to ravage, demolish, and denounce whatever credibilty the South has ever had. But the snap sub-genre, despite its popularity and airwave control, has never really sold that many records. If you think about it, D4L struggled to hit 400K after months of release, and Dem Franchize Boys just barely topped gold before they fell off the charts and failed to make a return in the sales department even after their third single was released.

Changing lanes...

Now, if you look at Luda's past album sales and his current Soundscan takeover, T.I's digits, Jeezy's last album selling 1.5 mill, and his upcoming sophomore LP building more buzz than "Soul Survivor," its easy to differentiate their style of rap music, which has more of a real feel to it; the better the quality, the better the sales. Outkast, Gnarls Barkley -- this is what I call real music. It's different, and it's sometimes off the meter when measuring the realms of what hip-hop music should be, but these people are pushing units. Whether they're wearing diapers (not a good look) or white wigs, they're giving the people what they want: Real music.

Just a thought. Like them or not, you gotta respect it. This is why the South is on top. And in the name of these artists, it is a well-deserved title. That other bull sh*t I can't really co-sign.

And by the way, you would never guess who this is. Let's just say that in my blog, nothing is ever censored.

Shout out to SOHH Southern.
