This week Slip-N-Slide's Diamond Princess releases her fourth album Still The Baddest which features appearances from Missy Elliott, Keyshia Cole, Pitbull, Rick Ross and Plies among others. 24 Hour Grind caught up with one of the last ladies standing in hip-hop to find out the key to her continued success.
Longevity Lies In Keeping Things Exciting
The key to my longevity has been my constant growth -- as well as the mystery. People have always been trying to pry and see what’s new about me and what’s going on. I’m always trying to do something different. Also I’m very real, there’s a lot of everyday life that I bring into music. I think that’s another part of being relevant, people like to live everyday life. Even people who don’t like to admit they like certain songs because they are dirty and raw, it’s a part of society, it’s a part of our world. People like that excitement and they like that I’m willing to give that.

YAWWWWN...IS IT ME OR DOYOU FEEL YOU ARE SEEING A PRETTY DRUG ADDICT WHEN YOU SEE THIS CHICK. NOT GOING AGAINST THE GRAIN JUST FEEL SHE HAS MORE TO OFFER THAN AN LAME RAPPER. HOLLA. THIS CHICK DON'T SELL NO CD, NOT PROMOTABLE, NOT MARKETABLE EITHER. I WISH SHE WOULD SIGN SOME GHOSTWRITERTO PUT HER LYRIC GAME UP SOME. THERE IS A BIG DIFFERENCE BETWEEN A LYRICIST AND A RAPPER AND SHE IS NIETHER.
Trina stays in the game because there really isn't too many female rappers out there anyway and she has had a couple of kind of hits in the past. Really though does the fact that some people remember your name mean that you are still "in the game"? Hell I remember the name Memphis Bleek, does that mean he is still "in the game"?
