It wasn’t until I went to the University of Windsor that I joined a dance crew called DoDat. That’s when everything came to fruition -- my dream of dancing onstage for an artist and videos and all that. I did a show in Toronto with my dance crew and Mya was there. We were opening up for her and her choreographer was watching our show. Afterward he asked if I was interested in doing it professionally. Months after that he called me and said there was a position opening, "If you come to NY and learn the routines and Mya likes you you get the job." The next day I flew to NY and never left after that. Right Place, Right time.

When Opportunity Knocks Don't Shy Away From It
I just fell into choreography. Two people told me that’s what I needed to do and I didn’t want to at the time. When someone poses an opportunity, don’t shy away from it, it’s an opportunity for a reason. Even if you fail, you've learned something on the way. The opportunity to choreograph was given to me on three separate occasions and the one of them I took is how I became successful. "Gimme Di Light" was definitely someone seeing the talent in me and me taking that opportunity. Now people always come back to me based on my work with Sean Paul.

Tanisha kicked off her career as a choreographer in Sean Paul's "Gimme Di Light"

Born in Toronto, Canada to Jamaican parents, Tanisha (Tisha) Scott got her start as a dancer for Mya. Since then Tanisha has gone on to choreograph for Sean Paul, Alicia Keys, Eve, Ludacris, Beyonce and Pussycat Dolls' Nicole Scherzinger among others.
