Raven Symone: Breaking Barriers as a Mini-Mogul and Role Model

At only 22-years-old Raven Symoné is an internationally recognized actress, singer-songwriter and producer whose work has already earned her multiple Nickelodeon Kids Choice and NAACP Image Awards.
While many of her peers have been scrutinized in the media for club-hopping, inappropriate pictures, pregnancy scandals and stints in rehab, Raven was recently dubbed “The 400 Million Dollar Woman” by Ebony Magazine in honor of the merchandising success of her Disney television series “That’s So Raven”

"Any business you go into, you should definitely write up a plan, whether in Hollywood or in corporate America. And I think that even as a person, you have goals to reach, and you always want to refer back to what you want, although you can always tweak it...Since I was 3 to 5 years old, I think I learned everything subconsciously from their (the cast of "The Cosby Show") actions, namely, professionalism, to always be creative, and to always enjoy yourself, but at the same time know that this is a job, and to take it seriously because a lot of people's livelihoods are at stake. When we first met Raven-Symone she was catching her big break as Olivia Kendall, the 3-year-old stepdaughter of Denise on "The Cosby Show." Raven was part of the cast from 1989 until the series ended in 1993.
It wasn't long before the exuberant young star let the world know she had other talents. In 1993 she released her first album, Here's to New Dreams.
"That's What Little Girls Are Made Of" was Raven's first music video.
She went on to co-star in the popular Mark Curry television show "Hanging With Mr. Cooper"
After her role on "Hanging With Mr. Cooper" ended in 1997, Raven made the leap to the screen, starring in films including 1998's Dr. Dolittle, 1999's Zenon: Girl of the 21st Century and Dr. Dolittle 2 in 2001.
In 2003 Raven landed the two projects that would make her a Disney darling, The Cheetah Girls film and her hit tv series "That's So Raven"
The talented star has also showcased her worth as a businesswoman, Raven produced the fourth and final season of "That's So Raven," She also took on the role of Executive Producer for The Cheetah Girls 2 and most recently served as producer for the Disney film College Road Trip, which she also co-stars in alongside Martin Lawrence.
Raven has already filmed a music video for one of the songs she sings on the film's soundtrack, and has announced plans to release her fourth album later this year. She's also announced her intentions to become a media mogul, recently telling the Los Angeles Times, "I want to have a record label and a licensing company. I want to have a publishing company and a management company where I can launch all kinds of artists. I want to do everything."
With so many of her goals already accomplished, it's only a matter of time before she does just that!

saw her on 106&Park yesterday, i'm real proud of her...she's not on tv showin her biscuts and stuff, she does respectable not raunchy music, she's a more than capable business model, and a wonderful model for little black girls, and lord knows we need all of those we can get...big ups to Raven keep doing what your doing...
