We have a mutual respect for each other. We’ve been working together so long, he does his thing I do my thing. When he is being creative I get out of his way and he does the same. We respect each others craft enough to know when something he does or I do can benefit from input. At the end of the day we just give each other the time and space to create and time and time again it proves fruitful.
It’s definitely a no ego, no pride environment. We give each other our space but if I’m writing something and he doesn’t think it’s right he’ll say “Yo Carv, I think you’re going in the wrong direction” He doesn’t say that often, so that means I’m going in the wrong direction. It’s for the betterment of the record and the artist that’s doing it. I’ll be like alright that’s cool let me go back in and rewrite that.
