The Council of Fashion Designers of America (CFDA) held their invitation only 2008 CFDA FASHION AWARDS Underwritten by Swarovski, last night in NYC. Among the A-list guest were some of our 1224Style favorites: Eva Longoria-Parker, Naomi Campbell, and (first time posted) the very posh Victoria Beckham (w/ that arch and THOSE SHOES!).

I’ve been holding back from posting on the Becks, primarily because EVERYONE else does, but seriously they play absolutely NO games when it comes to their swagger! So (in moderation of course) do expect a couple helpings of them from time to time…….

I have not been a fan of Ashy’s style lately, from those horrid circa 1999 promo pics (which I didn’t post on purpose) to those high school highlights she’s been rocking, I’ve been even more disappointed w/ ole girl than usual. But she showed up at Universal/Motown’s Ultimate Prom party in this gold number, looking like she’d regrouped a bit and gotten it together. While the cover of her new album “Declaration” (which hits stores today) still reminds me leftover promo shots from Mrs. Carta’s Upgrade U video, I know this business (and u people) are brutal, So here’s to you Ashy! Good look declaring yourself mama!

SOHH the 2008 MTV Movie Awards were held on Sunday night, and Hollywood definitely showed up in star power. Somewhere in the crowd, I found two of my girls that I just like, not for any reason in particular, but I can rock w/ em because they’re two young sistahs working and making their paper, so I’m not mad. Anyway, you know the deal: 2 stars, 1 event, WHOWOREWHATBEST?? The Meagan Good VS Rihanna Red Carpet Roundoff begins now……..ding! ding!

SOHH I don’t know about you, but if you didn’t see the Sex & The City movie this weekend, you’ll have nothing to talk about around the water cooler at work this week. But if you did, you’ll understand why so many of us are running around w/ some serious Carrie fever, after being exposed to wonderfully absurd amounts of couture and fashion for over 2.5 stimulating sexy hours. It was probably the best $10 I’ve spent all year, folks laughed and some cried because THIS is how a major motion picture spinoff of a Television show should be done!

Anyway, Sarah Jessica Parker, one of the Movie’s producer’s (cha-ching!) also hit up the MTV movie awards Sunday rocking this sickening minisequined L'Wren Scott minidress, accessorized with Fred Leighton jewels and lace-up white Christian Louboutin boots.
See (also) one of my fav get-ups from the movie as SJP runs through the busy Manhattan streets in this Katharine Hamnett T-shirt and argyle thigh-highs ensemble. Caution: This fashion is NOT for the traditionally faint at heart!
